Went to this food lion today and my husband got the sushi . He was just eating it and a sharp piece of shrimp tail or something was inside the sushi roll and stabbed him in the roof of his mouth and caused it to bleed! So be careful eating them sushi rolls. read more

This is a standard Food Lion in small town Smithfield. It's fine, it's basic, it suits the needs. I've been here a number of times both to get actual groceries and for various snacks or meals while in town (sushi to go once bc I was starving and desperate) and flowers for a friend's birthday. They have the things you need at prices you expect (did I just invent a tag line?!) but it's not amazing or anything. read more

Most of the workers are helpful, but one inthe bakery named Kelly was very rude and condescending to me when I attempted to place order on phone, I asked for a different worker and was treated better. I went to pick up order the next day and was served by this same worker, sadly, she said to me " (What do you need?) in an annoyed way, I said to pick up cake for Fay, she rolled her eyes at me, and I asked her why are you being so rude, she said (I'm not) I told Mgr. I will make sure to not deal with this worker again, I do not need such arrogant, condescending, unconcerned treatment. The other workers are much more respectful, thank goodness read more

Medium sized Food Lion. Has lots of lion food, not made for or marketed to lions in particular but mine dont seem to mind. They also sell sparklers to people 18+ and ID you. Decent beer and wine selection. read more

Today is the first day I've ever ordered from the deli at Food Lion and Smithfield. I was told right away at 3 in the afternoon that they're on sale chicken wings for $0.50 each they were sold out of and the price goes up tomorrow. I told them I was looking for a 30-piece which is five six pieces. Because that's how they sell them. Bottom line customer service at the deli was terrible. They told me they could have the wings ready by 5. I went back at 5. They saw me and told me they just dropped the wings in the fire fryer. So I had to wait another 15-20 minutes. As I hear one employee asked another employee a question the other employee is obnoxious and arrogant. I felt bad for the young man behind the deli. You would think since they got the corner on the market of grocery stores in Smithfield. They would be the best customer service ever. I'm waiting for Kroger's to open and Smithfield and getting better as better service from their Deli. Another thing is why don't the wings look like the ones they have serving on the counter? I'm willing to talk to a Food Lion manager if anything could change it to Deli. read more
