    Open faced roast beef sandwich

A must try! Everything I've had here is outstanding (Hog slaw rolls, open face roast beef sandwich with mashed potato's). The staff and food are really over the top!

Not impressive. Stopped in for the first time for a bite of lunch only to be extremely disappointed by the food and atmosphere. The French Onion Soup was a disaster! No onions what so ever just broth with a few bread cubes. Cheese was all goopy around the bottom of the cup not broiled over the top. On to the colossal fail of a club sandwich. This was no club sandwich this was not three slices of bread cut into triangles with all the fixings. This was a messy unappetizing sloppy joke. My waitress was however attentive and kind. The only good thing I tasted in this establishment was the ranch dressing. Definitely would NOT RECOMMEND!

Just passing through... Really the place is Awesome. We were traveling over the holidays and came across the Dark Horse. It was a little off the beaten path and the building is not fancy but the food and service were outstanding. I had the mushroom burger with onion rings which was worth ordering again. Baby girl had the bacon cheeseburger with fries and she loved it - the burgers are thick and prepared well - Wifie had the club sandwich with a side salad. The club sandwich was really good but the side salad was great - their blue cheese dressing is fantastic... The Dark Horse is worth stopping by for a meal when in the Finley area.

We've been going here for years and LOVE it; so glad to get back for some amazing breakfast. Also love the place since the renovations? Looks great inside!!! My hubs had and really enjoyed the chicken fried steak. I had corned beef hash, which I suspect is just the canned kind, but served up beside their homemade biscuits and perfectly scrambled eggs made it the exact thing I needed to kick start my morning.

I should probably avoid anything named "splitter" in the future. It was a bit concerning when we walked in and found a long corridor with long benches for waiting. The wait was only 20 minutes for a table. But that is only one of the waiting games that happen at dinner time. We waited to order. We waited to get our food. We waited to get our check. Waiting was the name of the game over the two hour dining experience. They did upgrade the onion rings as an apology, but when portion sizes are this large more food really doesn't have a great appeal. We tried to be patient. Definitely a promising location, but was a busy Friday night.

    French Onion Soup Bowl

Great food. Clean and quick. I had the French Onion soup and my husband had the Walleye.

A delicious favorite of mine, French Onion Soup on the menu and available daily!

Laid back, casual atmosphere. Expect to wait at peak hours. Findlay locals love this place! I Love the bartenders, love the food. Wish they had liquor on Sundays! LOL

    Huevos Rancheros

Excellent service! Food tastes good! Ambiance is fantastic. The huevos rancheros is very flavorful. You can make your own avocado toast! They also have a spicy avocado toast which was good

Not far from the highway. Waited at the host stand and never was greeted or seated. We left and ate in town.

Nice local restaurant with good food and a mostly friendly staff. If you come for breakfast expect a wait. They tend to be quite busy.

The outside looks like something from a 70s sitcom set…read more. The inside is dated, but I love the vibe! It was packed on a Saturday at 10:30 in the morning. But they move fast! We were sat in under two minutes, and had our food in less than 10. This place runs like a well-oiled machine. Some of the waitresses here had to be at least 60 to 70 years old, and it looked like they came with the building. I'm not saying that as a bad thing. Is it really a good diner if at least one of the waitress's hands don't shake a little as she sits down your plate? The portions are enormous... The pancakes are the size of a plate. We watched the food come out and everything looks really good. Our waitress was fast and friendly, can't ask for anything better. It was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time.p

I HIGHLY recommend stopping in. It has a nice old school diner / down home feel. Definitely a place the locals frequent. Everyone was very polite & kind. The food was AWESOME! "Herbie's Mess" really hit the spot with me... paired with some Rye toast that made my belly VERY happy! My GF got the tater tot skillet which she very much enjoyed. The service was quick and the prices surely won't break the bank. Support small & local businesses! A+ We look forward to coming back as it's only about an hour and a half from home.

This one is good for its price point (around $100/nt for my stay). I'm tempted to "meehhhhhhh" it…read morebut I won't, I'm going to compare it to others in its class. I've also stayed in the TownPlace Suites in Findlay, the sister Marriott budget that's actually got suites. This location has hotel rooms. My mini fridge is the mini-est you can get without being a 6 pack electric cooler; barely fits a standard styrofoam takeout box. This isn't an impressive location for a Fairfield, nor is it a good location. It's on the corner of a busy 5-lane highway, next to the Kroger/Walmart and surrounded by a Honda dealership. The visual clutter and distraction of the dealership decor (big, tall tinsel at the time of my visit) made it visually challenging to figure out the parking lot entry on the first approach. Getting back out to the main highway is challenging, not super straightforward; either (1) you take a left out of parking and contend with Kroger patrons (both turning in and turning out) in your attempt to turn left onto the artery street less 100 yards from the traffic light, or (2) to turn right onto the main highway you go right out of parking into what feels like an alley, behind some buildings, and try to remember to turn just after the building instead of going too far and getting trapped in that parking lot. Neither option is a good one. The run-on sentence was making a point, and it was worth it. Inside: similar to the local TownPlace, not super inviting. There's no pull through entrance. You'll need to park in a space and walk in. It's rather dark inside, an effect of both the lack of lighting and a dark blue camo looking carpet. If poor lighting is a problem for you it's probably worth looking at another hotel (I don't recall the TownPlace being dark, but it's been a couple months). The room is basic and functional. There's an iron, full size ironing board, hair dryer. Little modular closet is fine for a week. There is a standalone 2-drawer bench that can - and should - double as a luggage rack since there's not one in the room. The bed is foam and soft, so check other places for spring mattresses if you need something firm. I use a super slim pillow and one of the 4 on my king bed was suitable. They are all 4 different so there should be something for everyone. Already mentioned the fridge is the teeniest size. Microwave is comparably small. Coffee machine is tiny with lots of single use plastic trash involved, so if you actually drink coffee maybe head downstairs or to a coffee shop instead (there's a breakfast/brunch place in the building just east of Fairfield, about 50 steps away, opens at 7).

This is a very well run hotel in a great location in Findlay. Walking distance to several…read morerestaurants and stores. Easy to locate at a major intersection. The building is older, but was recently completely remodeled and looks great. The rooms are nicely done and very clean. They are also very quiet, thanks to the obvious solid construction years ago. The sink area is a bit small, but that's a minor thing. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great and the dining room nicely done. Overall this is a wonderful place to stay if you're in the area.
