I hadn't visited this place in 20 odd years, we have talked about stopping but usually kept going downtown. We decided today to stop for lunch, it was worth the stop. We started with an appetizer of fried green beans. They came with a side of marinara and ranch dips. The beans were battered with a light seasoned breading, they tasted so good you really don't even need the dips. My wife had the Classic Burger with sharp cheddar cheese and all the toppings. The burgers come with chips for a side, but you can upgrade to fries or onion rings. She decided to choose the hand cut fries, she chose the hand cut. She said that the burger was great, I tried the fries and they were outstanding. I ordered the tuna salad on wheat and I had them make it in to a tuna melt with American cheese and had them upgrade the chips to hand battered onion rings. The tuna was very good, a little sweeter then I like, but I would order it again. The onion rings were awesome, the onion was sliced thick with I guess a thin beer batter. I would order a full order of them the next, the side was only 4 onion rings. The staff was great the young lady that seated us was professional and seated us within 10 minutes of arriving. Stopped by due to location near I 75. They seated us right away and that's it. After about 7 mins., I asked for coffee for our table. The server spilled 2 of the coffees and didn't wipe it up off the table or floor. I ordered mush and they said that takes a really long time. After 20 mins, I asked for a warm up on my coffee. Our eggs arrived, no toast. Toast arrived after we were done eating and only after I asked for a manager. The issue was complained about and then a waitress came over and asked why I wanted to speak with a manager. I will never go back. Don't waste your hard earned money! read more

This may not be the fanciest place around but it was a great what I call a hole in the wall. Or use the term hole in the wall loosely as a Places always clean and kept up well. It's one of my areas local establishments. I have lunch there a couple days ago as I frequent this place often. I love their salads with blackened chicken and sometimes they will make your dressing. The blackened seasoning really appeals to my taste buds. They are also Open for breakfast and I have stopped for that meal is well in the past. I would say that's pretty good. The staff is always friendly, and you can get seated fairly quickly as of plenty of tables. I also have a bar area which a lot of times I will sit at for lunch since I prefer that over a table. Was in town for holidays. We decided to check this out after reading all the great reviews. Would have loved to been able to try the food, so this is more of a customer service review. We had a party of 6 that showed up at 10:35 for breakfast. We were told 30 minute wait. After about 10 minutes we asked for menus to see what we wanted. Host hands us breakfast menus then proceeds to say "if you're here for breakfast, we stop serving at 11". So after wasting 20 minutes of our day, we left to go get breakfast. You would think a restaurant wouldn't want to turn away a party of 6. Oh well. If I'm in the area again i won't be giving this a try. Poor customer service usually leads to bad meal experience if that's the culture there. Here's an idea have a sign out front that says breakfast served until 11am. Or post it somewhere. Took our daughter's family here for our granddaughters 7th birthday. We are from out of town so this was a recommendation from them and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the meals. We went at 3pm but was told you may have problems getting a table after 5 since this is a very popular spot with the locals. read more

My girlfriend and I went to dark horse on a Saturday morning, and sat at the bar so we wouldn't have to Wait for a table. (25 minute wait) I ordered a mimosa and I suppose it was made with Moscato instead of champagne, but the Moscato was flat so it just tasted like orange wine. I didn't drink it, and the bartender never really asked me why I had only taken a sip. But! That's on me too because I saw she was kind of busy and didn't want to put her behind. Our food took about 45 minutes to come to the table, even though she got a basic breakfast sandwich and I got a half order of biscuits and gravy. The food was pretty decent, but not anything to write home about. I'd probably give the food alone four stars. The lady next to us received the wrong order, but didn't want to send it back because it took an hour to get to her. Maybe they were behind in the kitchen, I don't know if this wait time is standard. They definitely needed a second bartender, though. I'll be interested to try again in the future and get a larger sample size. read more

My favorite breakfast food. This place is hopping every time I come in on the weekends for Brunch. I have yet to find a place that has breakfast food this good in Cleveland, since I moved back. The Chipotle Chicken Omelette is the best omelette I've ever had. And the Chorizo Flat Enchilada is a home run as well. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star review from me, the service is very slow when its busy around breakfast/lunch time on the weekends. There was just 2 of us, the waitress took our drink order(2 waters and a coffee) and it took 15mins to get the drinks. They need more people waiting on tables. Found this place on Yelp. Not too far off the interstate, building is not too much too look at either HOWEVER..... certainly worth the stop. Food was excellent! I ordered the prime rib with a baked potato and grilled asparagus ( which was prepared perfectly) and hubby got the double cheese burger( which was HUGE! ) this picture was AFTER he smashed it. Hash browns home made gravy and biscuits.!Scottish egg was amazing cooked perfectly, if you never tried it is a must have. They advertise best breakfast in Findlay. I do believe it is the best in the state of Ohio. Prepare to wait 15 to 20 minutes to get a seat. But you will find something for everyone. Pick eater, big eater and foodies. Big selection and friendly staff. read more

Wow, color me impressed! Went here for lunch with coworkers and the Neelie's chicken sandwich(sp?) I had ranks in the top 3 of chicken sandwiches I've had in my life. Super flavorful, juicy, and delicious. I got the onion rings as my side and they were huge and freshly made- very good as well. Only criticism I have is that I wish they had the option of something other than iceberg lettuce on the salads. Service was just a tad slower than we would have liked to get back to our meeting on time but our waitress seemed very busy with the lunch rush. The exterior wasn't what I expected, nor was the interior, but the wait staff and bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was excellent. So glad we found this place for lunch today! Friendly staff and fabulous food. I had Prime Au Jus sandwich with onions and mushrooms! Best I've had in ages and lots of beef. My husband had breaded veal sandwich which is hard to find and it was nice and crispy. French onion soup always in the menu! read more

We are in town for a softball tournament and have a group of 25. Called for a reservation and weren't sure what to expect. It was WONDERFUL & Emily did such a great job waiting on all three of our large tables. Definitely a local mom and pop type restaurant with excellent tasting home cooking. Our group ordered anything from sandwiches to steak dinners and everyone enjoyed the meal. The spinach artichoke dip was a huge hit and every last bit was scraped from the dish! Saw the reviews on Yelp and decided to meet some family members here for lunch. It was a very good experience. I loved my Green Chili burger. The only suggestion I'd have is to have fresh cut fries rather than the frozen crinkle cuts, but they were ok. Others got a variety of dishes. The Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich looked delicious. My wife loved her prime rib sandwich. My Mother in Law got the Italian burger and enjoyed it although the sauce seemed to have a strange spice in it. Maybe cinnamon? But I liked it. Dad in Law got the fish tacos and Great Grandma had the Salmon Patties. All said that they were good. We will be back. read more

Service started out slow and remained rather slow, but we weren't in a hurry and they were busy. No big deal for us! We started with fried mushrooms. Probably, hands down, the best I've had. Ever. And I do consider myself a fried mushroom conisseaur (spell check doesn't recognize this word lol). The portion was a bit small, but I think they were $4.99 and my love for them may have made them go faster than they actually did! ;) Their house salad dressing is a celery garlic and is TO DIE FOR. I bought two pints to take home with us! French onion soup was superb! Husband and I both ordered prime rib. We get prime rib often, and had low expectations, as 10 oz was $11.99...lol We were VERY pleasantly surprised. The prime rib was a great size, cooked to order and had EXCELLENT flavor. Home fries (me) and au gratin (him) were both regular. Can't really excel or fail in the potato department if you ask me. I could take them or leave them. So they were fine. Just like every other restaurant that serves 'em! Total price was $50 for 2 prime rib dinners, with a side and a salad, fried mushrooms, a bowl of soup and TWO ($5 each) pints of amazing dressing. Tons of huge burger choices... chicken tenders with honey mustard was the best in town... carrot bread tasted home made - felt just like my grandma's (sorry grandma) and spiced just right! italian specials looked wonderful - definitely trying one next time now that I know they can cook. Portions were huge and prices were as low as you can find these days. Decor was plain Jane, except for plenty of tvs, but you won't notice anyway when that food hits your taste buds! Exceptional! Food service -everything was great. Little more $$ but did not leave hungry-real dinner salad with fresh made croutons, dressing, and bacon, radish carrot and egg it was fantastic. By far the chicken is the biggest and best tasty chicken. If grilled it's tender and juicy. The breaking on the other sandwich the family ordered was the best. We also had pulled pork - mild sauce coleslaw was good, fresh cut French fries were crispy and delicious. The prime rib sandwich could have used more meat but what meat was there was tender and tasty. We will be back. Other than the outdated decor and older building this is a good find for breakfast. The food was really good. The service was fast and friendly. The place was packed on a weekday for breakfast with mainly senior citizens, but it's a good sign usually when the lot is full when you pull up. The portion sizes were big as well. read more
