The outside looks like something from a 70s sitcom set.. The inside is dated, but I love the vibe! It was packed on a Saturday at 10:30 in the morning. But they move fast! We were sat in under two minutes, and had our food in less than 10. This place runs like a well-oiled machine. Some of the waitresses here had to be at least 60 to 70 years old, and it looked like they came with the building. I'm not saying that as a bad thing. Is it really a good diner if at least one of the waitress's hands don't shake a little as she sits down your plate? The portions are enormous... The pancakes are the size of a plate. I had a good experience at The Pilgrim. I was helped right away, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The staff were very nice and attentive. I ordered the breakfast burger, and it was good. The hashbrowns were just okay and nothing special. I did not receive a refill on my water, but overall the service was still solid. We recently stopped here after randomly coming across this place while passing through on our way down south for some breakfast. WHAT A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH! I HIGHLY recommend stopping in. It has a nice old school diner / down home feel. Definitely a place the locals frequent. Everyone was very polite & kind. The food was AWESOME! "Herbie's Mess" really hit the spot with me... paired with some Rye toast that made my belly VERY happy! My GF got the tater tot skillet which she very much enjoyed. I believe this place may be in an original HoJo location. Reasonably priced, no frills breakfast & lunch, served fast & hot. We got their attention upon walking in the door and were seated immediately. The menu was limited and didn't allow substitutions. They are quick to serve and very accurate, too. Everything cooked exactly as we ordered it. The food was absolutely scrumptious. They make great coffee, too. Drinks were topped off and the obligatory waitress visit accomplished. My dad would have loved this place. It's where working people can get a solid, stick to your ribs meal at a fair price. In a modest, rather non-descript brown building about a minute off the interstate, you will find some very friendly people, some great food, and a bargain to boot. Parking on site. A real find for the road warrior! Any place that serves breakfast all day is a gem. And the portions were just right. The chicken and waffles were out of this world. The batter for the waffle is something special. A little sweet but a whole lot good. Especially with their sausage gravy on top. And order it the way you want, they're ready to please. I've never given a 1-star review before. The menu says "Scratch Made", about the only thing scratch made is the eggs. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy, I ordered the country fried steak (CFS) and eggs. The sausage gravy on the biscuits didn't even look appetizing. Upon tasting it, it was quite obvious it was canned gravy - was very salty and made me nausesous. The CFS was definitely frozen having had fresh made CFS in the past several times. The cream gravy on the CFS wasn't fresh either, but not as bad as the sausage gravy on the biscuits. Some friends with us ordered French toast, and that was rubbery. We won't be coming back. I don't see how this place has 4.3 stars unless they're friends of the owner - or maybe food USED to be good. read more

Food was ok. Place mat was dirty, was replaced. Waitress was leaning over pick up window, my food was sitting there, and she sneezed. She did turn away and put her arm up to sneeze in her elbow. Then turned around and kept talking to someone in the kitchen, breathing over our food. Saw a piece of chicken fall off a plate on the counter and a waitress picked it up with bare hands and put it back on the plate and served it. Person in the kitchen had gloves on but was on their phone pressing buttons. Husband's cheesesteak sandwich had no condiments so had to douse it with the ketchup that was on the table to make it better . His sea salt fries didn't have much salt so he had ketchup on them too. He should have asked for mayo or something so that's on him. Was very cold inside with air conditioning blowing on us. We arrived one hour before closing, was out in 40 minutes. Hometown food easily found off I75 in Findlay. We stopped for breakfast / brunch. The staff is very efficient and friendly. It's very clean and inviting. Our eggs benedict and buckwheat pancakes were delicious. The coffee was good, hot, and always full. Excellent food and service for the price. We'll be back. Side note: if you're into cool Mid-Century Modern decor, this place is outstanding. Supurb food - Gracious service - Clean and bright - and plenty of parking for your rig right off the highway with lots open grassy area for your dog to stretch it's legs. Vintage but not dowdy. Definitely try the buckwheat pancakes. The bacon was crisp, the coffee hot. Try to beat the Sunday morning crowd if you can - very popular with the locals. What a great treat to find this cheerful traveler's happy spot on our way to Put In Bay. Oh!, also, they baste eggs - perfectly ... nice lacy browning on the bottom and edges and solid white with runny yolk! Update: This is our second visit - passing through on our way to Hocking Hill. For the past five years I have driven past this odd building that looks like the the Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls thinking it was vacant. Turns out it is a great little restaurant that closes at 2pm most days which explains why I thought it was vacant. We finally had the time to check it out this morning. I had biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fluffy with just a touch of sweetness and the gravy was just what you would expect. I didn't think they would make a great photo. The pancakes were for my 8 year old who barely left a crumb on the plate. My husband had the corned beef hash and cheese omelet which he said was good. The prices were very reasonable. read more

The food is exactly what you'd expect. It's cheap, and it's fast. Let's get to the service- The whole wait staff was extremely nice, EXCEPT ONE. There was a loud-mouthed 40-something that was an absolute terror to the whole place. You could tell that the other employees were ready to strangle her, and the patrons were just hoping she would shut her loud mouth. I can't remember her name for the life of me, but you'll know when you see her. She ruined the whole experience. I got the bacon eggs, toast, and coffe special. The price was right at around $4. The food was tasty, and was cooked just right. The coffe was exactly what you'd expect from a diner next to the interstate. I'm glad I turned around after leaving the Sure Stay motel. I saw people eating food off their truck and didnt even know the was a restaurant at first. I walk in and the place is full (good sign) there's a cute waitress wearing a UofM shirt and since I'm from Michigan I felt instantly at home! My daughter saw powdered sugar french toast, my boy got a kids burger, I an omlet and wife pancakes. I really liked the American fries I'm not sure if that's what they called the scalloped fried potatoes, but they were super yummy! I will be back next year! =) read more
