The weather caused the appointment to be pushed multiple times (snow and high speed winds which is what caused the damage in the first place), but the work is done and the gutter appears very secure now. Pricing seemed reasonable for the time and materials used. They were friendly and open to various payment options. The estimate came slightly under the quote, (rounding distance so very slight) which is always nice. Notes: I know it's hard being a contractor and taking calls while working, but more prompt notifications about appointments being moved would be nice. Communication wasn't timely but I had the sense that there wasn't a home office fielding work, so I'm certainly more understanding. Hard to be timely when you're dangling from roofs trying to get work down before the next storm wave. They were certainly better than some other contractors I recently worked with.

I liked everything about the way he did business, so I went with them. The roofing was done in 1 day and the team of 13 guys he had was efficient clean and very pleasant. A Lead showed up for the delivery of the roofing to make sure it was properly placed to protect my driveway. The team that came to do the siding was just as good. Ava had to come back to fix the issues we (as homeowners) uncovered, like: -used finishing nails instead of roofing nails in high wind areas -not tarring over exposed nails -had rippling of shingles in the back of the house -ridge vent didn't get added to the full roof -broke a beam and originally used a 2x4 on one side, didn't even notify me that this happened. -didn't cut soffits where they were supposed to -put feet through our ceiling in 2 areas and I discovered it on my own They fixed all these things properly and quickly, but only after I called to explain the same sub contractors they sent back originally, didn't do a good job fixing some of them. So then I asked for their actual internal installers to come out and fix. When they did that (sent Billy), the craftsmanship was much better. Now, 4 months after installation, my brand new bathroom vents are blowing air back in and not as strong anymore. We discover it's because of the way they installed the the roof vents. The grates are pushing up against the opening so they can't open fully. I'm beyond frustrated that poor installation caused all these issues to appear! Although Ava has come out each time, if I was an uneducated home owner, I would not necessarily be able to find these issues and push to get them fixed. If you choose to use them, make sure it's not a subcontractor doing the work and that they are using their internal team.

Jake had an excellent presentation - They were the lowest bidder - The roof looks good and I have not had any issues with it. - Their "A" team came out to correct some issues (the flashing looked like it had been installed by a 4th grader) The Bad: - I was told that a PM would be onsite the entire time. In reality he was on site for maybe 10% of the project - My project was sub-contracted out to a another team and I was NOT informed of this. This became a major problem when I started having issues and could not talk to anyone (the subcontractors did not speak english). Note that Buffalo Fresh Roof is NOT the company you are signing with. The contract is actually with Bors Pros Construction - Within an hour on the first day, the protective tarps had come down and there was debris raining down on my deck and flower beds. When the PM showed up at the end of the day, he said that this could not be helped. Of course, that is garbage - they wouldn't put the tarps up if they didn't have a purpose. Also, this is not what I was told in pre-sales. As a side note, I saw the same sub-contractors working on a project down the street for another company a few weeks later. There were no problems with the tarps on that project. - The roofers decided to try to do a u-turn in my lawn and got stuck (I still have the ruts). They then gave me attitude when I refused to try to pull them out using my truck. - I have damage to my gutters, deck, flower beds and lawn. - I am still finding nails around the perimeter of the house To be fair, the PM did knock off the additional cost incurred in replacing some of the plywood. It wasn't worth what I am going to have to spend in the spring to fix my yard, flowerbeds and lawn - I just wanted them gone.

Out of all the companies that did show up ( 4 out of 5), Adam was the only estimator who actually went up on our roof and walked it to see how everything looked. Because of this, Adam's timeliness on coming out as well as getting a professional and itemized quote submitted to us and the reasonable cost, we chose to have Ava install our project. The contract was signed and job was scheduled within a week! The crew protected our house and did a great job stripping and installing new plywood, removed an old electrical service pipe that was no longer needed and reshingled our house in one day. They cleaned up the yard and left everything in great condition, which with our yard being wet and muddy, was a big hurdle! The gutter installers came a few days later and had our new gutters up in a few hours. They had their work cut out for them because it rained a great deal the days before so they were fighting mud as well. My house looks amazing with all of the improvements that Ava performed for us! I would recommend them to anyone who needs work done!
