About a year ago Nick replaced a sidewalk for us. Initially it appeared great, but early into the…read morewinter it became apparent that something was starting to happen as there were numerous pits on the surface of the sidewalk. We contacted Nick and he first said that it was due to salt, but since we don't use salt, that's not the root cause. A respectable contractor would come inspect it before simply accusing the customer of something! Anyway, by the spring we were pretty amazed at how bad the sidewalk looked -- numerous pits and even a crack. We contacted Nick numerous times by phone and also sent many texts. He admitted that the concrete was bad, but said it was the concrete and not him. WHAT? I didn't pick the concrete company -- I contracted with Nick and paid him $1600 and HE is responsible. Anyway, Nick said he would eventually get around to replacing it but it's clear that he has no intention of standing behind his work. BUYER BEWARE -- Nick is not a man of his word and he will NOT stand behind his work. My recommendation -- find someone else to do your concrete work.

I waited until May 1st to contact them and was told it would be in the next 1 to 2 weeks. So I waited and waited and I finally contacted them again on June 6th and was told again 1 to 2 more weeks, and she assured me that it would get done before fall. . So I waited some more and finally contacted them again on July 10th and then again on July 11th..I left a voicemail on both those days asking them to please return my call and telling them that I urgently needed my chimney repaired.. They didn't return my call until July 26th and again said it would be within the next 1 to 2 weeks.. so once again I waited.. on August 24 they called me and left a voicemail sayin that they were getting close and they will get ahold of me when they have a date locked in..That was the last time I talked to them. I wanted to wait to write this review until I was sure that they were not going to contact me, and since it going to snow soon , I'm pretty sure that they have no intention of contacting me. So honestly I don't know if they would have done a good job or not, because unfortunately I spent 7 months waiting.. Thank God I had the good sense to hire someone else to fix my chimney in late august otherwise it would have probably fallen down by now.

I would not recommend Dupont Decks based on my experience…read more I invested nearly $55,000 in a custom deck, including paying thousands of dollars extra for the structural requirements necessary to support a future four-season porch. That future porch wasn't just a verbal discussion--it was specifically included in my contract and was a major reason I chose this company. Unfortunately, the workmanship has been disappointing from the beginning. The deck boards are uneven and improperly installed, allowing water to pool and collect against the house. There are noticeable gaps in trim and wrapping, the stairs have settled and developed a dip that has caused the railing to bow, and even the stair lights have begun pulling out because of the movement. Whenever I raised concerns, I was repeatedly told everything looked fine or that I needed to wait over a year for the deck to "settle." When the problems continued, the responsibility shifted to me instead of the workmanship. The most disappointing discovery came later. I recently learned that the deck did not pass the county requirements for supporting the future four-season porch that was included in my contract. I now have to spend thousands of additional dollars correcting work that should have been completed properly from the start. What frustrates me most isn't that problems occurred--construction projects can have issues. It's the unwillingness to accept responsibility and the repeated attempts to explain away legitimate concerns rather than deliver the quality and contractual obligations I paid for. For such a significant investment, I expected quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a company that would stand behind its work. Instead, I was left with ongoing workmanship issues, additional unexpected expenses, and a deck that has fallen well short of what was promised. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dupont Decks.
