The salon is cozy and very chique with a small clothes boutique, hair products, and hair stations. Darrah herself is an amazing woman. She will always do her best to fulfill your hair requests and is wonderful as a stylist - bubbly, kind, and professional. I met Darrah through flag football. Our kids played on the same team. So I knew she was a stylist and owned a salon so I trusted her when I went to her for a balayage on Saturday... sadly that was a mistake. First, she fried my hair by over bleaching it, my ends were already lightened from a balayage I had last year and didn't need to be bleached again at least not for as long as my mid section and roots. She started in the back and let it process for as long as the front. So now the back of my hair is like a level 10 while the front is maybe a level 9 and the back bottom section is totally fried for about five inches. Second, she doesn't use Olaplex when bleaching. I made the mistake of assuming professionals these days have incorporated it into their practice to protect the integrity of a clients hair. Never assume that. I have like chunks of hair breaking off when she removed the foils and washed out the bleach. Third, upon seeing the breakage she recommended a trim but didn't tell me the price for it. She barely trimmed anything off and cut my curtain bangs too short. When I paid I found out the "cut" was $75, I still hadn't really seen or felt the back of my head so I paid it, tipped and left to go finish my errands for the day. When I got home I was able to look at my hair and really feel it and I realized how damaged it was. I sent her a message and she gave me some schpeal about how people can lose like 1000 hairs a day after a bleach and how all of this is normal. It's not normal. I sent another photo expressing how upset I was and how bad it feels and she left me on read. So I asked for a partial refund for the cut, and she refused. Citing how she gave me some sample size freebies I didn't ask for nor expect, and brought up the fact I tipped her. I have spent many years in the service industry and even when I get bad service I still tip. Plus I know her IRL, I'm not going to stiff her, I don't want to be that person, and I didn't want to be *this* person either, but she at no point offered any way to remedy the situation. No treatments for the breakage, nothing. It's unacceptable. I cannot believe I paid so much to have my hair so damaged. I've literally spent six years growing out my hair to almost my butt and now I'm looking at having to possibly cut it up to almost my shoulders. It's very upsetting. She then went on to accuse me on her Facebook review of being a scammer, she then deleted the comments. Now I have fried hair I've had to spend tons of extra money on hair treatments and cut over three inches off. A friend of mine made appointments here to get our hair and makeup done for her wedding. Darrah and Molly were amazing. We had picked out pictures on Pinterest for our hair and they literally recreated them perfectly. Our makeup was amazing, Darrah knew exactly what features to highlight and we all looked gorgeous, I felt like a supermodel. The price was crazy low, I even bought some lip gloss and lipstick for the wedding and when she told me the price I asked her if she was sure she added it up right because I didn't think it was enough. 3 days after my haircut,( she was closed for two of those), I called Darrah and told her that it didn't look like my hair had been cut at all and I wanted to come back in so she could correct the situation. I had been a customer of hers for over a year. She told me that she would have to charge me for another haircut. I said I was JUST in to see her and she told me that her policy was that if you didn't like your haircut, you would have to tell her while you were sitting in her chair. I couldn't believe it! I won't be going back to see her. In the meantime, I have found another hairdresser alot closer to my home who did a better job on my hair than Darrah ever did.
