I immediately contacted the on-site security guard to report the theft and waited for the arrival of the DART Police for assistance. Unfortunately I have yet to actually receive any type of assistance in this matter as I have since been informed that there are no security cameras and therefore no way to know at what time my vehicle was taken or by whom. I rely on the DART for the majority of my transportation as I try to get myself back on my feet and it never occurred to me that in doing so not only would I lose everything but there would a serious lack of simplistic security and prevention measures that could have assisted me during this time. While I understand that at this point there is likely no chance of recovering my vehicle or my belongings due to lack of information I do believe that some assistance from your company is warranted. I am now relying even more on the DART to transport me as I attempt to find work, enroll in school, and better myself and my situation, which is only costing me more money that I do not have. As I stated previously, I have held off on seeking other avenues for assistance in the hopes that you will do the right thing but, should I not receive help in resolving my issue, I may have no choice but to do so. The fact that you have failed to provide something as simple as security cameras at your station in this day and age is unfathomable and is something you should seriously consider in order to assist other patrons should something similar occur when they leave their vehicle in your lot. read more

When you're educated, mature and a respectful human, it just stomachs you to think and see around about what it really is on all levels, this 'Pharaoh' age like public transportation out of the otherwise well known around the world city of Dallas TX. The initial thought of this endeavor towards the need for a complex infrastructure light rail in the DFW metroplex, was definitely wonderful, no question about that. And indeed in that, the city delivered and will and must absolutely expand to those areas where opposition to DART still breaths but unequivocally fading away. And more so, that expansion should and has to take to account not only platforms build up, but also performance in efficiency in speedy operations in all departments involved for the bottom line: the net satisfaction of the user, period. Please, people with ties in some refreshed offices who do not or lastly rode in these trains and buses while in high school or college, shouldn't be making critical decisions to how this system would operate best to fit exactly the needs of the traveler... Please, don't! Now, let's come back to the present. Oh boy, may Lord have mercy! I won't be laying back all the negatives well stated clearly enough by others here. However I'll try to concentrate on the human factors. I know very well and have taken this thing-all-system, that is trains and buses, but I can't lament enough on how people mainly behave in and out around these vehicles. I couldn't be more disappointed to say the least. Extremely sad. It's just unfortunate, as I am talking here about everyone, riders as DART employees alike, including DART police, Dallas police, Fare controllers, security guards on the camera system, Bus drivers and even train operators. Oh my God, most of these people not all of them (kudos to the few ones by the way!) are bunch of crude and rude RACISTS, yes that's RACISTS, no matter what color of skin bearing on their bodies, with so full of prejudice and stereotype profiling attitude which actually hides rather a lot of blind jealousy towards some peaceful commuters. I have seen it all, heard it all, and at last again today as of this writing which consequently and so indignantly was prompted by a needless to say silly incident proving my points above, by an officer in one of those train cars who tried and sought obviously to escalate a non issue whatsoever while I kept cool at all time because aware of their 'game', why, well because he/she couldn't find better to bother me about as 'they' have been trying for so long against my modest person, mainly on these trains. Now you must be wondering (for some) what the 'H' is going on here, since I'm guessing others would probably get the idea already considering the epithets I mentioned about before... Believe it or not but I know it to be true, some of them would get on these trains in many places to ask for tickets just because of me. They will give on the radio my description by, yes, operators, security monitors on camera system, and so forth, so laughable while criminals, homeless, ambulant vendors, those who spit and urinate in there even in front of us all and other riders are not bothered at all, and it's just so uncanny to watch... I have confronted in a civil and educated way of course, drivers, 'macho wanna show' - officers, bossy minded fare controllers and mind you fellow riders with despicable behavior or manners around me and others with so much sadness to tell you after all. It's not so funny but rather embarrassing and pitiful to see how they follow me around in some instances. Still I can picture them sometimes how they would be apologizing once they'll realize just how much time they've wasted and how they made fools out of themselves, what kind of highly professional and well beyond educated I am who just doesn't mind now and then jumping on the stinky DIRT with my hand on my nose for conveniently personal reasons. And when I think of how much money I've spent on tickets for this company as I always do carry a fare (my phone and card billings are witnesses) and many times I just have to decide to walk instead with it because of emotions running high and for self confidence, since I refuse to take crap from anybody. Meanwhile these individual with some questionable brains may be thinking that I do not have a ticket. DUMB! WRONG! I couldn't care less. I laugh it out all the times and I could buy a 10-year fare if necessary. See what I mean? People, why the blind hate, why this uncalled for prejudice. I was getting on a bus today and the operator asked if I had a mask and to put it on and then I realized she wasn't wearing one so I said you're not wearing a mask she pretended not to hear me and made no attempt to put hers on. And this has happened numerous times during this pandemic with dart they've offered piss poor service and neglected to do there job not only with dart employees but there police as well there was an incident on the train the night of July 5th where a drunk black male was passed out in the floor of the train I contacted dart pd and they said theyd have officers a few stops up so I stood by him so no one would step on him we rode 8 stops to the end of the line yet no officers anywhere to be seen I was able to get him in a seat before I rode train back to my destination its sad a civilian can go above and beyond but the employees and officers who get a paycheck can't even make an effort I was thanked by the dispatcher for watching over the drunk guy but anything could of happened to the man if I wouldn't have been there I'm irrate with dart ive used them for years and for now will continue to do so but I'm gonna post this everywhere I can for a review until something is done with there power trip over a mask that has been proven nowhere to stop the spread of covid and there police start taking there job serious you can't even go through downtown on the train without being bombarded with panhandlers and drug dealers I'm contacting the proper authorities both federal and state on these issues as well people are worried about things being racial which is bullshit I'm a white male and the drunk guy on the train was a black male I believe all lives matter I'm not blinded by no mask or racial shit we solved 50 years ago thanks everyone read more

How can one employee spoil an otherwise enjoyable afternoon? Well, it happened on Dart, the wonderful light rail system envisioned for years to solve Dallas' need for mass transit. We were out with the grandkids for an exciting excursion from the burbs to the acquarium downtown and thought Dart rail would add the special touch, but the grumpy old f_rt running the train apparently didn't like his job and wanted the rest of us to know it. My first alert came when he closed the door on a woman and her kids while she was just seconds from boarding, then sped off. Apparently she didn't suit his notion of punctuality, but a kind person would have let her aboard. We noticed the sign that asked all not to bother the driver, but when he exited his control cab we tried to ask a question, but he ignored us as though not hearing and went right back in. And he made rude and uncaring comments as we left, saying "I ain't a mind reader." The regretable thing is we understand he is surely most unhappy, maybe with his job, or his wife, or his kids, or with the president, or just his lot in life. But he should understand that his job is more than just running the railcar, but as an ambassador for Dart. On the way back we had a most wonderful engineer, happy, smiling. I don't suppose it makes any difference but we are white and the first guy is also, the second man is black and a real gem. nothing but yelling and screaming at the bus drivers they said it was the tre (trains fault) REGARDING THE HUGE PRICE INCREASE not really sure whose fault it was but the good news is they had the unbelievable patience. The 100 plus percent price increase hurts those that need it the most the reduced, people on very very low income. I saw old people, people with mental issues, veterans all having serious issues with the price increase, several mentioned they are just trying to get to there doctors appointments and wondering if they could continue to see there doctors at the Huge Increase. One Veteran with no legs said going towards the Veterans Hospital said a small increase he understood but 100 plus percent is ROBBERY he thought, another old lady told the bus driver she felt being robbed by the HUGE PRICE INCREASE more then the yearly increase in medicare. As purely a observer I am going to find a new way to travel, we just DON'T TREAT OLD PEOPLE, VETERANS some wearing Korea, Vietnam, 1 WW2 hat and I don't think there are many of them left. A small increase due to gas most understood but 100 plus increase 2.50 to 6.00 40.00 monthly to 96.00 is just plain theft most people thought. I think it could have been handled by both parties the riders and the company much better and the bus, train riders took all the abuse through no fault of there OWN. This review is not for the out of towner or weekend rider going to the zoo. It's for anyone considering using DART rail to commute to work downtown on a daily basis. Here is what you will be faced with; drunks, druggies and homeless using the trains as a moving homeless shelter. Having to sit next to people who haven't showered in months and are sleeping off the night before with blankets covering them head to toe is not a great way to start your work day. How can this be? Because there is nothing to prevent it and everyone knows that. 99% of the time no one is checking tickets. Commuters are faced almost daily with disturbed persons yelling or harassing passengers. In 12 months of daily use I've seen tickets being checked about 5 times. In those same 12 months I've seen weekly incidents between drunks/druggies/homeless and the poor commuter who happens to be the focus of their rant or stupor. DART's answer to this? An App where you can report issues that will be long over when or if anyone ever responds. DART desperately needs a turnstile system as the first step in limiting access to their trains to paying passengers. read more

We took an early (8:46am) trip on Dart to the state fair from the North Lake College station today and will never ever do it again. After we stopped at Las Colinas and picked up passengers a black male went berserk yelling and cursing and on and on and on at the top of his lungs about how he hated white people. Kept calling this young white woman a b**** and how he absolutely HATED white people and wanted all of us to die. We were seated up at the front where the other white couple came up to also. By the "safe zone". Finally the driver opened the door and quietly whispered for him to "calm down" then closed and locked the door. Fortunately we got off and onto the green line 4 stops later, which seemed an eternity. You want to talk about racism and hate.. there it was. And there was a Dart employee sitting several seats behind him who did nothing. I also have a friend who takes the rail from Las Colinas to DFW who has also experienced harassment at that station. read more

If I could give DART zero stars I would. It's honestly disgusting how the majority of their "fare inspectors" do not understand the fundamentals of customer service, specifically an inspector named O. Lacey. For her to be a minority woman you would think she were just as hateful as a member of the KKK. Majority of pedestrians who take DART do not have cars and use this as their main source of transportation to get to and from work. Charging someone a $50 ticket for a $3 ride is unjust and immoral. If they didn't even have $3 to spare at the time what makes y'all think they have $50? Have y'all heard of warnings? Or changing the system to a sliding scale? This is the exact reason many people who have minor traffic tickets end up going to jail... not enough money. This is the society we live in unfortunately. I have ridden public transit, both rail and bus, around the country and in Europe and South America. That includes, the LA system, the Chicago El, New York subway, DC transit, Houston Metro. The Dallas DART was the worst of them all! I was only in the downtown area and a few outlying art districts, but all the stations were completely over run with homeless people, drug dealers and prostitution. I know this because I am an alcohol and drug counselor with experience with all those populations. I have only once before felt so unsafe in my many travels. This explains a recent article I read that the Dallas DART system has 3 times as many miles of rail as Houston METRO but Houston has 3 times as much ridership. That is because the Houston METRO is a relatively safe place to ride. The "scariest" stop on the Houston METRO seems like a garden spot compared to what I saw on the DART system. It is very sad DART is now charging for parking. One tries to do the right thing fot the environment and take the train which is pretty pricey to begin with considering only using it 5 days a week & not 7. The Carrollton station has experienced crime, siphening of gas from vehicles, & nothing is happening to prevent this. DART could certainly step up their security ! Does paying for parking include security ? covered parking to keep vehicles safe from the environment? NO! ANyone who lives outside Carrollton is being punished for taking DART and having to pay quite a pricey fee to park their vehicle in a non-secure, non-covered parking lot to take a train that is pretty pricey to begin with but probably not for those who don't pay and are never checked. Way to go DART !!! You really thought this through---Punish those people who take the train who live outside your designated area !!! read more

If the "DART Police" would get off their butts, get out of their cars and either ride in the rail cars or at least be walking up and down the station platform all of us commuter`s would be safer and happier. Everyday I ride to and from the Garland Station to Mockingbird Station. I have to watch men harrass and intimidate women as they try to get anything from bus/rail passes, to cigarettes, to sex. Your paying customers are sick of these men that appear to be riding the rail so they can get whatever freebies they can get while your "police officers" race from one parking lot to the next just to sit in their cars until the train departs. Why does dart, being such a vital part of Dallas's mass transportation allow women be allowed to be such easy "sitting targets"? I hate Dart to begin with, but Park Lane Station and Forest Lane Station are the WORST, most at-risk bus stations in Dallas! Filthy, creepy, not-right-in-the-head homeless people, flashers, drug dealers, gang members, and... lazy, lackadaisical police/security officers!! I was sitting, waiting for my train earlier this morning, when some creep came up to me, trying to force me to buy "blow" from him... I told him to "kick rocks," and he saunters away, pissed. Next thing I know, I see him peeing PUBLICLY by a trashcan... and the "police" did nothing! Few seconds after, *I* was yelled at for simply "wearing my mask the wrong way out??" WTF?? So, some drug-toting piece of **** gets to peddle his wares and *piss in public,* and I get yelled at for wearing my mask wrong?? Screw Dart. read more

Do not ever use DART! Period! I am a tourist staying at Magnolia Hotel on Commerce and wanted to go visit the Trinity River Audubon Center located exactly 8.2 miles from front door of the hotel. The DART route meant catching the Green Line at Akard and ride to end of line at Bruckner and transfer to Bus # 466 for final six stops to the Audubon Center. So how long did that take? TWO AND ONE HALF HOURS! Enroute i was panhandled 13 times, seven of them coughing, belching and hacking up vomitous foul fumes and emitting urine stench emanations. The armed guards were jumping from car to car at each stop clearly nervous and tense as they confronted sketchy-looking gang types. Repeat: NEVER use DART if you love yourself and loved ones. I ride Dart Everyday for Work (park and ride). I notice that certain Dart Officers Show Racist Practices. For instance: Black People, (especially Guys) who dont have a ticket are treated differently than A white . Today Another WHITE FEMALE officer demanded that a young Black Male Pose for a PHOTO and he told her, that isnt right just for a $50 ticket. SHE tried to argue and I agreed with him aloud and she tried to imply I had to be new because they have been doing so. I told her im on this train everyday and NEVER HAVE they required taking photos I even received a ticket months ago because my phone had died and I wasnt able to show I had a monthly Pass online. RACIST DART COPS need to be terminated. America has enough problems. read more

I like the concept of DART, I just wish they would have turnstiles or something so that it was all paying customers. I understand that there are people with monthly passes but every time I ride it I am always the only one going to the ticket machine to buy a ticket, then I read Dallas Morning News articles about how DART is losing money. It is fun to see businesses pop up fronting on some of the DART stations. Dallas is becoming so hip and urban :) I am also excited for when they open out the the airport which supposedly ins't for a few more years. The times I have ridden DART it is usually pretty efficient although the trains do sometime run a few minutes late. It is relatively clean for a subway, sorry, light-rail system. read more

Ur attempt to use porta potties isnt enough. Like most things u do, ur not consistant like u used to be in the late 90s! THERE IS A SOLUTION! Ive sat in a wet seat hopefully for the last time! This is a health issue! Pissnfinklematter yuck! The simple answer is outdoor metal stalls w jail tiolets, byop! I expect to see this by next summer! Dart officer 529 Mohammad, if it was your first time riding the dart train and you ran into this "0fficer" you would probably not want to ride dart again or in fact visit Dallas again. No disrespect to the fine men and women who do actually up hold the law and protect the passengers. But this guy thinks he's a god among men. I've filed 2 complaints on this officer to dart with no reply on his harassment towards me and on a disabled Women in a wheel chair. Absolutely atrocious behavior, especially when all you wanna do is get home or ride to your destination and have to pay fare too.
