This morning when I was catching my flight home, I swear my flight was leaving from Terminal C, but when I checked in at American Airlines at DFW, my actual flight was leaving from Terminal A. What to do??? Skylink my friends....... Just watch for the signs within the airport terminal for the Skylink, take the escalator up to the top of the airport terminal and jump on the orange rail thingy. The Skylink rail car does have a few seats, but it's mostly for riders to stand. Using Skylink rail is a very convenient way to get around this massive airport, especially if you're in a rush to navigate between the airport terminals.

Im just left perplexed how they thought a 8min total train ride with a 15min idle train stop was an experience.

When I was there, yes, it did take a long time, and I was surprised by how slow we were going. We kept stopping at turnouts (which occurred every 5 minutes). When we were halfway there, a woman had a seizure and injured her neck, so we had to stop, and the paramedics intercepted us at the tracks. The attendents' attentiveness and readiness were excellent; it's just the ride that was slow and pretty much uninteresting.

DFW is a mixed bag…read more Sometimes you get lucky and the stars align: your connecting gates are close, no weather issues, you find a seat in one of the lounges without having to be elbow to elbow with someone, and your long awaited upgrade clears. But other times it's a crap shoot: you have to bolt off the plane, run like Forest to the Skytrain to get to your connecting gate and then sprint another 200 yards to reach the gate before the door closes, the lines for all the Lou gets snake around like a Disney turnstile, and you're stuck in a tiny seat next to someone who doesn't understand the concept of personal space. Upgrades on American Airlines can be hard when traveling during the week especially early morning aide to lots of Dallas based CKs and EPs. Easy boarding for international flights. Lots of lounges do many options for a layover IF you have time or you start from DFW. The grand Hyatt is connected to the airport do it's always a nice choice if you have a forced overnight. The Hyatt Regency DFW is a short shuttle ride or walk away.

Took a Frontier airlines flight here from San Diego and arrived unceremoniously…read more The Terminal was ok. a few things to choose from for food, souvenirs, snacks, etc. The walkways are crowded, people are hustling and bustling, and not smiling, no one seems happy here. You can ride a tram over to other terminals, and then walk over to the Dart train if you can follow the random signs that point you down hallways and corridors that end in a dead end. They need to do a better job marking stuff. At least the bathrooms were clean.

Thru were pretty lace about monitoring and we would have been much better off. The DART is clean, safe, quick, has extensive coverage, and comfortable. Every time I've ridden there was a cop at least part of the way. I would look at a map before you arrive and before you leave. If you're young you might have someone old show you what I mean by "looking at a map," and if you're old like me, have someone younger show you how to use Google maps- public transportation on your phone.

DART from DFW can take you a long way at a very affordable price. I use it to go all the way up to…read moreRichardson (there is a nice Renissance hotel right at a stop) which takes almost 90 minutes, but since I am old costs only $1.50 (it's a $45 lyft ride). It's a short walk from the A-1 end of the A terminal, just go downstairs on the elevator from baggage claim and follow the signs. It is highly likely that the fare machines won't work - it's been about 50/50. The train is modern but the seats are hard. It tends to provide shelter for many homeless on occasion; I've never had an issue but there are usually some disconcerting folks aboard. If you have to transfer try not to do it at one of the downtown stops - they are sketchey at best. Even if you have to overshoot by a stop or 2 and double back you'll feel safer. It's a metro area public transportation system - there are worse. Just keep aware of your surroundings and don't travel late night.
