Mic Mac has a food court and plenty of specialty food places including Jugo Juice, Perks Coffee, Orange Julius, A&W, Starbucks, and Tim Horton's (yummo!). We did some shopping here recently to check out some stores such as HMV, Old Navy, Eddie Bauer, Sony Style, and The Source At Circuit City. MicMac is a good size mall, but it was very crowded inside on a Saturday morning and we had to park way out in East Bumf--k. Anyways, we spent a good 90 minutes shopping here. I picked up a few things on sale at Old Navy and Winners and had a good cup of coffee at Perks. Next stop for us was, Downtown Halifax for an afternoon of chill time.

The outlet line is not quite up to the same standard as the regular retail line Overall I was very pleased with my shopping experience. Don't go in expecting to be greeted immediately at the door and assisted throughout your entire shopping experience as you are at the BR flagship stores because it's not going to happen- it is an outlet after all. The quality of the outlet line is slightly lower than the flagship line, but still on par with Gap or better. I was able to put together several outfits in under 30 minutes and left feeling as though my time there had been well spent.

Now it's empty shops, and fly by night stores (here today, gone tomorrow). Now even the big box stores, Winners, Shoppers and Zellers are packing up shop and leaving town. Shame, but the mall will likely be seeing the wreaking ball soon. Head elsewhere.

As for fashion, there are clothes for kids at Bib & Tucker, as well as a number of shops for men and women that are unique and not your typical mall selection. One of my favorite shops is Uncommon Gear a very eco friendly place to buy toys, games and gear from strollers to every other nurturing thing kids need. Several home decor and foodie focused shops like Cucina Moderna, Backyard & Veranda (that has lots of stuff for indoors as well). There's even a branch of Stokes (always has sales and fun kitchen gear). The far end of the mall has travel agency, shoe repair...and more, plus access to Canadian Tire. And lastly, if you're into local handicrafts, there's a market just for you on Sundays from 11-5.

The mall is mainly centered around Pete's Frootique as a prime destination, and prime destination it is.. It's somewhat comparable to "Whole Foods" in the US albeit on a smaller scale, but it makes up for its small size with a huge variety of food items that you are unlikely to find anywhere else in the city. The mall also has a variety of the standard cell phone carrier stands, a (too?) small Indigospirit bookstore, Mark's work wearhouse, Hallmark etc. The food court is small but the quality and health consciousness of the non-chain food vendors here makes it a very attractive to stop by for a meal... especially if you enjoy fresh ingredients and want a break from the monotony and excessive food processing offered by the standard fast food chains.

There's a Carlton Cards? Don't want to pay $4 for a card for this co-worker? There's a Dollarama! Spilled some coffee on your white skirt? There's a Reitman's so you can buy a new skirt then drop off your dirty skirt at the dry cleaners. You get the idea. That, or a final destination where you can gorge on wine and carbs from the Bicycle Thief or Ristorante A Mano. Either way works marvelously! There's a cute fountain that attracts the usual crowd of running toddlers, a nice café for summer drinks, art, crafts, fashion, jewelry and tons more in this handful of local boutiques. Day or night, it's a lovely spot for a European getaway without the passport hassle or expensive flights! My favourite thing, though, has to be running into friends who are all trying to make it in to Bishop's Cellar before closing time. There's something so delightfully classy about getting wasted when it all begins with a visit here :)

The store will only do a refund up to 60 days after purchase and will not allow me to return them through mail or send them any photos at all to even just have them refund my card. I have never in my life had such poor customer service and they will absolutely NEVER get our business ever again. The manager of the store even agreed its ridiculous and happens often. Living 3 hours away from the nearest store we are just out $100 dollars and a pair of shoes. Absolutely disgusted definitely do not recommend ever shopping there.
