I called Dash Hair Salon hoping to book an appointment with a stylist named Dani. When I checked online, there was zero availability for March, April, or May, so I figured I'd call to see if it was a system issue or if she was just fully booked. I spoke with Mikayla, and she told me I'd have better luck DMing the stylist directly because the salon "doesn't know her schedule." That honestly caught me off guard. How does a salon not have access to their own stylist's availability? I understand stylists can be busy, but being told to go through Instagram instead of the salon itself feels really unprofessional. Not everyone wants to rely on DMs to book an appointment, especially when there's a listed business phone number. I wasn't expecting immediate availability, just basic information or guidance through the salon. Instead, I was basically told they couldn't help and to figure it out myself online. It just doesn't make sense operationally, and it left a pretty poor impression. read more

I am so so glad Vallejo has this new salon close by to me. My birthday is this weekend and I booked a different spot which cancelled last minute. As I looked to find another salon, I gladly found this gem! I looked at the website to book and saw there wasn't any availability until next year. When I called Dani, she was able to book me the next day. Thank goodness!! I was so ecstatic that I found this spot. There is a couple of parking spots outside the salon which was very convenient. It is located in the heart of Downtown Vallejo. Inside the salon gave a warm and cozy vibe. When I got there, Dani worked on me right away. The shampoo might've been my favorite part, she really massages your scalp so so good. If I could just go in for that I would!! I asked for a silk press and a trim and she talked with me how much she recommends I trim. She also educated me about my hair and what type of curly products I should be using for my hair. She informed me that the products I currently use, aren't a good idea for my hair type. She gave such great recommendations and great tips! Usually silk presses for my hair take 2.5/3 hours but she took an hour and 40 minutes. She works quickly and the end result was everything I wanted! Definitely coming back here! read more

Dani gave me the best haircut I have ever had!! I have naturally curly, long, and fine hair and wanted more shape, layers, and bangs. She was realistic with me and gave me a cut that incorporated long layers instead of short choppy layers that always ends up looking stringy at the bottom with my super fine hair. She also cut my curtain bangs which I have never tried before and LOVED how she did it. She then styled my hair and its never looked so good. Fair price for how well she cuts and styles. I've struggled to find a good stylist that listens to what I want in my hair, every time something wasn't quite right. I always went based on word of mouth of what was good locally and after my past stylist moved across the bridge I needed something closer to home. I tried looking up on Insta for local salons and Dash came up, I was impressed by their blowouts and the hair styles. Dani took me early in the morning and was kind and professional. She gives a little massage with the shampooing which was so nice. I haven't been very lucky with getting informed stylist, but she gave me some insight on what works best for my hair type which is what I've been wanting for so long.
