Stopped at this Dash-In service station near the highway, and noticed that they had some sort of discount-gas deal with an app called Gasbuddy. We thought we'd give it a try. You have to get the Gasbuddy app, then give it debit-access to a bank account for payment. That made me a little nervous, and it took a few days, then they send me a debit card. Here we go! We waited for the app to say there was a "flash deal" here (Apr 2026), to get the best discount they have. We "activated" that deal in the app before pumping gas. I guess we could have activated it a couple hours earlier. Then at the pump, the app said to choose the "fleet" card. Well, there's no button for that on the pump. We needed gas whether or not this worked, so we inserted the card, or did we wave it at a sensor? We forget. The display said "fleet"! Perfect. Except, drama: The pump was not working for some reason. Oof. Did we just waste our discount? Nope. The cashier cancelled our charge, and we moved to the next pump and filled up. No prob. We grabbed the receipt. More drama: the receipt showed full price! Naturally, we complained :-). The App said they adjust the price after the gas station verifies the purchase. It took a day or two, but the adjustment was made! And for the record, there has been no mischief with my bank account from this debit card. Savings: $7.28 on an original $41.46 purchase!!! That's huge! Thank you Dash-In for tipping me to this deal! It looks like it works at many gas stations, not only Dash-In. Cool! read more

I went to the one in Ellicott City on the corner of St. John's Lane. The machine was working but not taking credit cards. I called the number online and the man that works in/manages the Shell walked over to help. We were determined to go through as my toddler is obsessed with the car wash and I had promised him "unicorn bubbles" as he calls them. This wonderful gentlemen helped us personally and made sure we could go through. He was extremely generous, kind, and professional. It's a gas station and it gets the job done. The receipt printer worked and for me, that makes it A-OK. Easy in. Easy out.

Got a 14$ car wash and normally at the end of the wash there is a dryer at the end that drys the car but after the car wash the blow dryer did not work and the other car behind me rolled in and his car wash started and I got more foam and soap on my car without the car getting dry at the end read more

So I had a car wash yesterday. I do have an SUV, so this is not a small car. I chose the cheapest option for $7. I was waiting for the receipt-never printed one for me. I think the wash was pretty good, but I looked at the bank statement today, and it appears that the machine gave me the most expensive option. That was not what I chose. Also, there was no under car wash. You can usually feel the water pressure underneath while washing. There was none. Otherwise, I think the wash was fine. read more

NEGATIVE STARS!!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! This is by far the worst managed gas station I have ever been to. I just pumped $40 of gas and was hoping to get a car wash at 20 cents/gallon off. Unfortunately, the pump failed to ask if I wanted a car wash. I figured I would go in with my receipt and they would handle it. Despite the lady at the register saying they have been having problems, it was my fault for not coming in before pumping. Her assistant echoed this as did the manager when he came over. I understand their point, but a good manager would figure out how to fix it, not join in and blame the customer, especially after the First Lady said they have had issues with the pumps. I would give negative stars for customer service if able. Terrible experience all around. Waste of time as their gas is more expensive than a few miles down the road and my car is still dirty. Go next door instead I ran out of gas literally across the street from the shell sitting at the left turn light of Route 40. I walked over to the station with my motorcycle helmet in my hand and asked if i could get some gas to get into the parking lot so i can fill up. The worker and a supervisor were conversing when i entered the store, they looked at me like I was from another planet. The worker said he could sell me a gas can, but other wise I was SOL. I went next door to the BP and asked if they had something to put gas in, he apologized that they were not some big store like next door and had nothing. I found a gatorade bottle outside and bought 8 ounces of gas, returned to my bike and got it going where I then filled up at the BP. Were the DASH IN community and service minded, they could have made a friend for life. By simply having a gas can like the ones they will sell you (where would I put it on my bike) with there name advertised, they could lend it out with a deposit and get someone to buy their gas. Upon return of the graciously lended can, they would get a fill up and possible food and beverage sale as well as a grateful thank you. Nope they get 1 star because I can't leave none. I will also let everyone I know not to frequent there, because of their lack of caring and dismal community service. read more

My review concerns the car wash more than the gas station itself (which is par for the course). With all the snow we've had recently, my car really needed a good wash. I chose this new Eco car wash over the "touchless" wash down the street, because I knew that the car would need the beater brushes to get rid of the salt buildup. I'm not sure what is eco-friendly about it, since everything looked standard, including the multi-colored foamy soap. From a range of about 4 options, I chose the second-best wash ($12) because I wanted an under-carriage wash. As there was a long line of salt-covered cars in front of me, I was able to watch several wash cycles and it honestly did not look like there was any under-carriage wash at all -- all of the spray came from the side, and there was no spray coming up from underneath the car. When my turn came, the cycle started and it seemed very quiet and gentle. I soon realized that the beater brushes on either side of the car barely even reached the car and were brushing the windows with only a featherweight touch! I drive a small sedan, so my guess is that the car wash is built for a larger car and does not auto-adjust to the size of the car inside. As soon as I drove away, I could tell that, although the car was cleaner than before the wash, the light touch of the brushes was not nearly enough to clean off the salt, which was still caked on. In this case, I probably would have gotten better results from a touchless wash. It was convenient to be able to pay with a credit card, but I would not recommend the wash for any small car. read more
