But later even after covid lifted he stopped letting me be in the waiting area. The last oil change as I was driving had the oil filter fell out and all the engine oil spilled onto the streets. I brought the car back and told him the engine is really loud. It sounds like metal grinding. Doc took a look and filled it up with engine oil and installed the wrong oil filter and told me I would be good for another 6 months at least. I listened to the engine and it didn't sound right. I brought it to the dealership that then diagnosed it as a failed engine block. Metal was inside the engine and it needed replacement. In addition, the second oil filter wasn't even the correct filter for my car and was two turns from falling out. Oil was already leaking from it. The bottom of my car was coated in oil, and it could have caught on fire. Fortunately it didnt, and Doc owned up to his mistakes and his business insurance covered the repair. However, that was another hurdle to over come as it got delayed for months. It is very difficult to find a good car shop. Bless you if you have one.

Back home, we took made an appointment online (Jul 2026) and took the car to Eakles ("ehk" as in weck). They inspected the brakes and found no problems. We may have overheated them or gotten some gravel up in the brake pads. The turning noise was a rubbing rotor or some such wheel part. They repaired it. The cost was much lower than i expected. I have an older Lexus and it seemed that one of the sensors in the bumper got knocked out and needed to be repositioned and secured since there was no longer a bracket under the bumper. I told him that an aftermarket product or a quick fix would be fine and that I was not looking to restore it to factory condition but just be operational. 45 minutes later, he called me to tell me my car was ready. Tim had used simple tools to secure the sensor in place and ensured that it worked and performed as it should. They were professional, respectful, and didn't argue with me or try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. I specifically looked for negative reviews--and there were none. I dropped my car off early that morning, and they gave me a clear time estimate for when it would be ready. They even sent photos of the issue. While I didn't fully understand what I was looking at, the fact that they were transparent enough to share images--knowing I could easily research them--told me everything I needed to know about their honesty. He initially did body work to my car, which I was VERY happy with, but just days later, my splash shield light came on, then my check engine. I am not necessarily saying they caused this (can't confirm they didn't either, as they were the only ones who worked on my car). So I took my car back shortly after, and Eddie said he did the diagnostics for free. He then charged me for an oil change (that I didn't need at the time). I emailed Eddie asking for my diagnostic results, which he said he would get to me, but he never did. I had to take my car somewhere else, and it turned out to be a simple sensor issue that they promptly fixed, and I haven't had an issue since.

It cannot accept my Giant Bonus points most of the time which is astounding since every other Shell can. But today took the cake - I tried multiple pumps and I couldn't get gas!!! Took my credit card, I selected my grade and put the pump in and the screen pops up with "thank you!" And I get a $0 receipt. On multiple pumps. It was amazing. I have never seen anything like it. Never go here if you NEED gas. I barely made it to another gas station - had 2 miles left according to my truck. Oh - and the next gas station had pumps that actually worked. Don't waste your time here.
