3 1/2 years ago my husband proposed to me and we decided on a really laid-back, fun, intimate, beautiful wedding. We decided to have it at the Island Château in Staten Island New York. My number one priority was finding a really good DJ because in my eyes the DJ is the most important! He can make or break the party and in our family we love to dance and have fun! I didn't care how much I had to invest because if you want great quality you have to pay! After searching I found "Platinum- dash of class" so we went in for a meeting. I met with Sal And all I can say is I definitely feel bad for him because he had to deal with my mother and I LOL. All seriousness he made my wedding a dream come true. Anything I wanted he could give and a great price! We decided to get the following 1. Two lights and monogram 2. Video montage/ a person taking fun pictures all night and uploading them at the same time on the screen. (it was as if I had two photographers) 3. Sparkling shoot- lights. They went off throughout the night and to me that was much better than the cloud because you can only do that once! 4. The photo booth - it was so amazing everybody got one copy and I got the other copy in a book where you could write. they were so much fun with a red carpet and a girl standing by to help throughout the night. I was a really difficult client. I wait until the night before to pick some songs because I could not decide. It took forever to find baby pictures for the video montage. Through every hiccup they were there helping and making sure I was not stressed out. Sal is an amazing DJ. He played so many of the songs I requested and really got everybody up and dancing and had such a positive vibe with the MC I will use them in the future for every event I have in need of the DJ. This is the worst company ever. I have put this post up once before but it was deleted somehow. We booked this company with Gary as the head contact for our wedding. Due to covid we needed to postpone then i ended up cancelling the wedding. They will not discuss any refund or using the deposit towards another event. All vendors have worked with me. Except Gary and his brother, who is the videographer. I'm unable to get the owner to give me a call back and Gary has said that he will have his attorney contact me. Which never happened. When i explained that i will put it up on social media how i was being treated, he said his reputation wont be tarnished. I guess because they have all the bad reviews taken down. Future brides, book a good honest vendor as your dj, especially during these covid times, Dash of Class will rip you off. I dont even know where to start with these guys. We had our PA wedding a few weeks ago with tons of modifications from our original plan but not a single guest felt any of it bc this entertainment team had everyone comfortable on the dancefloor..literally not a single person sat down the whole night. So many guests came up to me afterwards to compliment how awesome this team was. On top of this, Jon and his team worked with me on how to incorporate more dancing in what would have been a tight wedding timeline and were able to easily and seamlessly accommodate extra cultural components of the ceremony and reception. I can't say enough good things!! My husband and I got married on 10/08/22 and used Dash of Class. Joe Z was our DJ and Gary was our MC. From the start working with Joe, he made the experience fun. Throughout the planning process we originally had a family friend DJing our wedding. A decision my husband wasn't too sure about. June 2018 I was contacting the family friend for information for my venue and plans wound up falling through, he was no longer able to DJ our wedding. At the time, finding out 2 1/2 months before our wedding we no longer had a DJ, caused stress and anxiety. We had a meeting with our MC Mike Gregorio two weeks prior to our wedding, he was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming. We had aspects of our wedding we knew we wanted for sure, and others we had no idea (such as music choices, certain things in the wedding needed music, etc.) Mike was beyond helpful and eased the anxiety of making these choices last minute. My husband and I booked Peter for our son's baptism in November 2019. We were so impressed when he was the DJ at my cousins wedding a few years prior, we knew he was the perfect person for the job. Peter is so professional, friendly, kind and accommodating. He is quick to answer any of your questions or concerns. We also needed an Italian speaking DJ (which isn't easy to find) because we had non- English speaking relatives who flew in from Italy and Peter translated in Italian throughout the party for them as well. What an amazing job he did! The guests at our son's baptism had an incredible time and not only did the adults enjoy the party, but Peter and his team were excellent with the kids as well! He played everything on our music list and more, even the sit down dinner music was great and everything flowed so perfectly. Peter's commentary when we did our party introductions, cake cutting, the toasts, first dances, etc, was always perfect. We then re-booked Peter for our son's 1st birthday which was supposed to take place in May 2020. However due to covid, we had to reschedule. Fast forward 2 years later and the 1st birthday turned into a 3rd birthday. After meeting Mike LoBasso at a Bridal Showcase and then later seeing him work first hand at a friends wedding, we knew Dash of Class, particularly Mike was the way to go! We can't say enough great things about Mike and Dash of Class. We'll start with Mike, who I hit it off with the first time we spoke on the phone and got us so excited to work together when we first met in person. Not only is it clear that he's an experienced DJ and MC from the minute you start discussing your wedding, but he knows how to make you feel comfortable, help you make decisions on songs and themes if you're unsure (or indecisive) and not imposing or overwhelming in the least bit. We only spoke with maybe two other DJ companies, and they made our conversations all about them while Mike made us feel catered to from day one. Dash's pricing blew the competition away, we got a team of two DJ's and an MC for four hours, uplighting (which was beautiful!), and a pianist for our ceremony and cocktail hour for about $3,000. Other companies (that we actually had a connection with) weren't coming anywhere near that price point. I hate to put this last, but Mike and his team killed it at our wedding. The next day we had dozens of people telling us that we had a great DJ, that the music was on point (our party was mainly younger people, but I have no doubt Mike would've still been great if it was an older group) and that our uplighting was awesome. We couldn't have had a better experience from day one until the actual big day itself, and I don't think I could say enough good things about Mike and Dash. Wedding: Russian/American 04/2015 Ok, let me say this first, Gary Gazarkh is amazing! One of the best Russian MC's out there. He is funny, professional and all the guests loved him (Russian and American). He can even sing great! Im giving him officially 5 stars. Now as for the overall experience with DJ, I would give 3 stars from my and my husbands point of view. Our guests barely danced, literally. The DJ had difficult time getting everyone on the dance floor. Now, my husband doesn't like to dance, and he specifically told Mike that he didn't want to be pressured on his wedding day to dance. Mike assured him that he would only need to dance to 2 songs. Guess what , the whole time they kept announcing for my husband to come to the dance floor because they were desperate to try to get other people to dance while saying that he specifically requested certain songs (which was not true at all). We also gave an extensive list of songs that we wanted to be played during reception and almost none of it was played until the last hour when all the guests left. Literally. Until that time they kept playing other stuff that we didn't even know. The reason I'm giving 4 stars and not less is because the MC (Gary Gazarkh) was great and he was part of the package with the DJ. Otherwise this rating would be a 3. (Not a 2 because at least ceremony music and the cocktail music was as requested). Im not trying to be mean but we paid a good amount of money and expected more than we received. I've been to other weddings and I don't think I've ever seen people not want to dance (not matter how bad the music was), seriously, it was upsetting to have that happen on my own wedding. I cannot begin to describe how amazing Joey and the Dash of Class team are! But I will try my hardest. We booked Dash of Class for our wedding after experiencing their amazing-ness at another wedding. From the our first phone call together to signing the contract, everyone was flexible, honest, lovely and so helpful. Joey patiently listened to what we wanted- and more importantly what we did not want. We asked Joey not to take requests due to a large amount of college friends in attendance who I knew would embarrass me by requesting a certain song. I told Joey that someone would ask him for it- it could be a bridesmaid, my mother or even myself but under no circumstances was he allowed to play it! Surely enough, several people tried to get him to play the song- he told them (in so many words) "absolutely not". I will never stop loving him for that. Not only did he completely follow our wishes, he read the room so beautifully. Knew what to play when, which decades to go for, he MCed, but was not over the top.
