I decided to acquire a dash cam for improved protection and also to capture cool footage if I'm exploring someplace beautiful etc. I came across Dashcam Dynamics in my research and had a wonderful experience with Alan (owner). I decided to engage him to install a BlackVue camera into my Subaru Outback and I could not be happier or more pleased with the experience. Alan has a tremendous amount of expertise in this space and he patiently explained the pros and cons, benefits, etc so I can make the right decision for my needs/wants. He also answered all of my questions with thorough complete answers. He came to my house for the installation, which was awesome. I watched the process at various points and came away incredibly impressed with his preparedness, expanse of tools and widgets (gotta have the right tool for the right job!), but most of all he treated my car like it was his. That is very important to me! The final installation looks incredible! It's as though Subaru did the install when they built the car! After installation, we did a test drive together and he explained all of the features of the camera and the mobile app. I pinged him with a few follow-up questions and he was very responsive to help me. Technically he had to analyze the two electrical systems in my wife's Mercedes 450 convertible all the while explaining how best to install the systems for the forward and rear facing cameras. This review is long overdue. I had Alan from Dashcam Dynamics install a blackvue 900 2-channel setup w/ LTE and backup batteries in a late model 5-series and a late model Ford F350. Allen was extremely detail oriented and came more than prepared for the job. The pricing was exceptional for the time he spent making everything perfect for both cars. Installation occurred over two days due to the complexity, but the installation is flawless. It looks 100% factory and he used blendmount's in both cars as well. Alan also when above and beyond when there were two defective parts provided by Blackvue. The rear camera on one setup was bad and a cable was bad in the second camera set. He dealt with Blackvue directly, got the replacement parts and fixed everything without charging for additional time / labor or drive time. I can't say enough positive things about Alan and Dashcam Dynamics. If I swap cars, I'll head to him for another Blackvue install. read more

My husband arranged to have Alan at Dashcam Dynamics install a Blackvue DR970X-2ch in my 2011 BMW X3, as an early Christmas present, after a few harrowing driving situations I had encountered in my travels recently. Yeah - the roads and highways around Reno, and northern California, are getting increasingly crazy, and I really wanted a professional camera install that involved hardwiring front and rear cameras in my car, along with necessary instructions in how to retrieve video taken, and security that the new device would function as promised. Alan delivered on all those counts, plus more. He spent an entire day working on the install, carefully hiding all the components of the wiring system, updating firmware, making the cameras ready for immediate use, and teaching me how to use the associated cell phone app. He was very focused on making sure we were getting what we wanted, and knew how to use it - which I really appreciated. My first trip with the camera a few days later was not without a few complications (which can be attributed to the BMW computer sensing system - if something new draws from the battery, it lets you know - but I still love my car). I contacted Alan - within an hour, he was back at my house, checking the alternator, battery, voltage regulation - all the while taking the time to explain to me what all these readings mean - it was clear that camera system he installed was not putting an unnecessary electrical load on my car - and I came away with not only a fully functioning dash cam (including parking mode), but also a clearer understanding of how the electrical power components of my car work. Alan is a very knowledgeable person in the dashcam install field, but also a very good people person, who leaves his clients more informed, and more ready to keep themselves protected. I can't recommend him enough. For the time he spent, and the equipment he installed, the cost was extremely reasonable. read more

I had 2 vehicles done by Alan. He treated them like they were his own. I had the ability to check on the installations while he was working and he even takes the time to tuck the wires and cables behind the side air bags and other safety equipment as not to interfere with their operation. When he was done the cameras looked like they were factory installed. His workmanship and customer service are top notch. It has been several weeks since the installs which I have put several hundred miles on each car. No rattles or squeaks. The vehicles look like he never touched them. He even takes the time to actually walk through the camera controls and makes sure you are satisfied before he finishes the job. I will have him install cameras on everything I own. A few years ago i was involved in a traffic accident, i got somebody while i was going through a traffic light, the person that got got immediately got out of his car and started to blame me for running the light. I got lucky in that there were 3 witnesses who pulled up and wrote statements in his presence stating that I actually had the right of way and that he had run a red light. It was after that incident that i started to research dashboard cameras. I bought a few of them but none actually performed as they were supposed to. Having a usb cable dangling down the windshield wasn't great, the sticky mount that was supposed to stick it to my dash was horrible. Basically they all turned out to be crap. I met Alan (Dashcam Dynamics) at a CVS, looked at his system that he had installed in his truck, and decided that it would be a good thing to move ahead with. Alan was very professional with the install, nothing in the vehicle was damaged. All the cables are nearly invisibly hidden the install was done so well. Camera works flawlessly, I haven't had to use footage from it yet (thankfully) but I'm very glad for the peace of mind that I have now. read more
