I reached out to this shop for installation in my 2024 Outback : The Good - They responded super quickly. The Bad : Definitely not the friendliest shop. My Outback has the Starlink head unit which the responding person said, an upgraded speaker system cannot be added to. With a little research it turns out lots of Subaru owners and state shops have had success the harnesses/load resistors made by OEM Audio Plus, Encore, AutoHarnessHouse and AudioControl. So if you have a 2020 and up Subaru with the Starlink head unit this is NOT your shop. read more

I purchased a new 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport. One problem was it didn't have SiriusXM radio capability. I searched and found a kit that would add the service. The kit manufacturer suggested Nevada Auto Sound as an installer. I visited their location and talked with Brad. He advised that they could order and install the system. Sounds great. Let's do it ! It took about half a day to complete the installation. They did a very clean and professional job. Once installed I was a little lost on how to properly operate it. Curtis was kind enough to spend a considerable amount of time showing me the proper operating procedure. Once home and had time to work with the unit in detail, I ran into a couple of issues. So Back to Nevada Auto I went. Brad was extremely helpful in finding a resolution. He ended up having to call the radio's sales rep, and before long all was perfect. I came here to get a quote on having a kicker subwoofer purchased specifically for my WRX to be installed in the trunk , after getting a quote from Subaru here in Reno quoted $800 for the install . Brad at Nevada Auto Sound gave me a quote far less than that and did a quick and fantastic install ! I inherited a 2008 4Runner and everything about it is pretty awesome, except its crappy stock sound system. Enter Curtis from Nevada Auto Sound to change the game inside this pre-smartphone era SUV. I went with Memphis mids and tweeters for the doors, and two 12" Kicker Comps with a fully finished (hybrid?) ported enclosure for the bass. Curtis suggested that everything would sound better with an amp (Kicker 720W) running the doors, and a separate amp (Kicker 1600W) running the subs, so that is what I went with. Head unit is the Sony XAV-AX5600, which has Bluetooth capable phone/audio, and plug in Apple CarPlay. Installation was done in a timely manner, at a cost I was more than happy with, and finished at a level that makes the vehicle look stock, (except for the stuff in back of course). This is the second time Nevada Auto Sound has knocked it out of the park for me on their installs. I don't know that I would have any other business do audio work for me; they continue to impress. read more

Outstanding experience with this shop upgrading the audio in my 2022 BMW M5 Comp. This was my second 5 series automobile in 2 years. When I custom ordered my 2021 M550i I had the Bowers and Wilkins audio installed and it was a pretty awesome sounding car stereo. After 2 years in the 550 I ordered a 2022 M5 Competition and, unfortunately, the B&W audio wasn't available, victim of the 'chip shortage'. I was a bit impatient ordering my M5, due to very serious (possibly life ending) medical concerns. I figured that BMW would again be able to install the B&W audio, as it was available in the 7 series update, but I didn't know for sure that I'd be alive in a few years (doctors suspected tumors on my pancreas and bile duct). I ordered the '22 M5 to be built with all the upgrades available, minus the high end audio. As I waited for my build to arrive I had additional medical tests that revealed that not only did I not have cancer, I didn't even have any tumors - the CT study that indicated likely tumors was proved to be incorrect; my organs were simply misshapen due to all the hardware and bone grafts in my low back from a 5-level spinal fusion. My M5 Comp arrived and the stock Harmon Kardon audio was pretty dismal. My purchase consultant suggested I speak with Curtis or Brad at Nevada Auto Sound. Vince told me that they are defined by their integrity and would know what could be done to upgrade the audio in my new 6-figure 5 series. I went to their store and had a good discussion with one of the owners, Curtis. Curtis suggested that I purchase the complete speaker upgrade from Bavsound, a BMW/Mini audio upgrade company. He suggested that I purchase the package and if I needed, they could install it for me. Curtis wasn't trying to sell me anything, he was simply suggesting the best way to upgrade my audio. I hadn't told him that I had severe spine arthritis and unable to do the install myself. So, I ordered the full upgrade from Bavsound (all speakers and under-seat subs). No amplifier was available (not from Bavsound, or anyone else). There was a little bit of a hiccup, as Bavsound sent a couple speakers that didn't fit and I needed to order replacements. Therefore, it took two visits to Nevada Auto Sound to change out all my speakers. The tech who did the install completed the install flawlessly. There was zero indication that my precious automobile had even anyone inside let, let alone change out numerous speakers. I worked pretty much exclusively with Curtis, and as the co-owner he is a great ''face'' of the business. I felt that I had a friend doing the install for me, not some bigbox retail business doing a stereo install as quick and dirty as they could knock it out. Nevada Auto Sound educated me on my best option to upgrade the audio in my new car and they executed it as well as if it had been done at the factory. Not impressed. We had an alarm with SmartStart installed in our Jeep 4 years ago, hadn't had any real problems at all. The remote that came with it wasn't the greatest; every great once in awhile it would take a few extra pushes of the button to lock it or unlock it, no big deal. Just in the last day or two, we started to have a serious issue. First, the alarm/remote kept me and my groceries locked out of the truck for an hour or so. After finally getting home, swapping to the spare, basic remote, we thought we were good. Now, we haven't used the SmartStart for 3 years, hardly used it when we had it. All we want is lock, unlock, and remote start. Now, earlier today, with the truck being armed, and sitting at home, it started on its own. We thought maybe the spare remote was the problem; we took batteries out of both remotes, disarmed the truck, locked it, and left it at that. I had called Nevada Auto Sound, got told it was probably the signal, or the "brain" for the alarm, or where the antenna was placed. 2-3hours later, again, not armed, just locked, and batteries removed from both remotes, the truck started on its own again. I called again to Nevada Auto Sound and got told the 2-way remote must have gotten programmed for interval starting. A: to me, it's just a 2-way remote, and I don't understand the technicalities anyway, but that seems like some awful complicated programming to be done on a 2-way remote, that I was told they'd need to re-program, or kindly, I could look it up in my instruction manual, which we never got, and B: who programs their car to start every 3-4 hours?! I was told it would do me no good to rush over and get it just unplugged or disabled as all of the installers were going to Tahoe for a job, but could come by Monday. Now, upon further review after all of this, my husband reminded me that 4 years ago when we got it, he went in and said "I want the best you can do, what would you put in your car?" $700+ later, we had an alarm with SmartStart. And a hole they drilled in our dash to the left of the steering column after not asking where to put the indicator light. We actually have 2 lights now at the top of our dash: the new blue one and the old factory red one, since they said they couldn't remove the factory alarm, so we have that, too! Assuming this new alarm was a Viper, since they have big ol' Viper signs out, we were ok to take it as it was. Found out a year or so later after stopping by for something at their shop, we didn't have a Viper, we'd had installed an Avital alarm. Never heard of it? Me either. And this no name $700+ alarm had been sitting on their shelf for a year or maybe longer before they decided we were the suckers to sell it to. Yes. Our big mistake, we certainly didn't research into what we wanted, just wanted it done. The biggest disappointment is the phone calls in the last two days. As I told them, as a returning customer, and looking for some dire help, all I ever got told was it could be this, this, or this, and we can't do anything about it now. So, off I will go to Audio Express tomorrow, to give THEM $85 to remove everything. Hopefully we won't be too tired trying to make sure we hear the truck starting by itself through the night. I didn't get up that often with my kids. Won't ever be going back to Nevada Auto Sound. Update: also just discovered, in tracking down the manual online for the Avital 7352L alarm we got installed that there should be a toggle switch to disable the remote start. We went looking for said switch, since we were never told about it or shown it by Nevada Auto Sound. We discovered that our alarm "brain" wasn't installed, but rather just connected and shoved up in the corner under the dash, not bolted in and with wires exposed. No sign of a switch, so we are still stuck listening for it to start every 3 hours during the night. Shoddy, shady work. read more

Nevada Auto Sound is our go-to place for all things car audio. My husband and I can sincerely say Curtis and Brad offer some of the best customer care we have ever experienced. Most recently, we had an aftermarket Apple CarPlay system installed in my Nissan Maxima. Unfortunately the Maxima interface was very quirky with the first Kenwood system. So, try #2 with a Pioneer system which is working very well. Then, hubby decided he really wanted a better speaker system overall. During all of the tests/false starts, Curtis and Brad never faltered. Their mantra to us "we want you to be satisfied and will do whatever it takes to get you there". I could go on and on about how superior they are to some of the other shops here in Reno - so I will! Excellent service every single time I've come in - and they've stayed up on the times with all the bluetooth and mobile integration, they're total pros. These guys did a simple install for me about six months back on my Tundra. When I upgraded more components to my truck last week, I realized that the speakers I had purchased from Crutchfield and brought to them were not the ones that were currently on my truck. I called the owner to find out how that could have happened, but he had no answer for me. I brought them Polk 6-1/2"speakers, and when I opened up my car door panel 6 months later they were an old set of Boston Acoustics speakers discontinued from 6 years back. I called several times in advance to ask for help/advice on my options. I was told I had to figure it out on my own and if I brought in the new deck they would install it. I thought I needed to re-install a factory radio to get back some features. I brought it in, and they gave me a couple of different answers as to why they couldn't install it. First I was told there were missing parts, then I was told it didn't power up, then I was told it sounded like it was trying to power up but ultimately didn't, then they said b/c the person who had installed the current radio had bypassed the amplifier and they could not do anything to fix it. They gave me no alternatives or options other than telling me my vehicle wasn't worth putting any money into it. It's a Jeep Commander and I plan on keeping the vehicle for another 10 years, not as my primary transportation but for camping and off-roading. They never even asked how much I was willing to spend. I took my vehicle to a more credible business and they were kind, professional, and truthful. They said, "yeah, it's a mess what the last person did with the installation, but it's fixable". They spent time listening to what options I wanted and needed and are fixing it for me. The other installation business had lots of customers while I was there, but the owner himself came out to inspect my vehicle and radio system and review my options. They'll be getting my $1000 dollars and my recommendations to friends and families and the yelp world. Sadly, Nevada auto sound was recommended by my mechanic and had good ratings on Google and Yelp, but I was not impressed at all with their attitude and lack of interest, and it looks like others aren't either cause they appeared to be hurting for business. read more

I spoke with Brad who patiently answered all my questions and concerns. He never tried to up sell me in fact I ended up buying a more expensive deck. Very good work, they fixed my radio problem caused by another aftermarket installer. They rewired it with new wire. My radio at times couldn't pick up any radio stations, and then sometimes could, after I put a i-pod hookup in my car. The other installer kept telling me nothing was wrong, so I lived with sketchy radio for 3 years :( So happy to have this fixed finally! Fast friendly service, decent price. ($45 minimum charge, no charge for the wire). They got a lot of cool equipment in here, and sounds like they can do almost anything electronic/electric you would want aftermarket for a car. read more

Wanted to share this with viewers that may be in the market for a great auto sound, etc... installer. I met with Brad one of the owners to discuss the possibility of installing my Echo Master 3 Camera System in my 2017 GMC Denali. I had previously taken it to another location and they were unable to complete the install. Brad spent the time going over the system and indicated they could certainly install it with no problems. He explained the process, the quality and professionalism their shop operates under. He gave me the estimate and said it is probably a bit over what it could take to actually install it, and said, he will only charge for the time spent. He also indicated he would double check the entire system even though the other shop installed the initial parts. I was convinced this was where I was going to do my business. When I picked it up, Brad spent the time showing me how to access the camera system. This place ROCKS !!! couldn't have asked for better customer service.
