After researching a few different companies for a car alarm with installation, I selected NV Car Audio because it was a Mom & Pop and I like supporting small businesses. I walked in to make my appointment, I'm a little old fashioned as I prefer to evaluate products in person, and interact with a human. The lady who scheduled me was the owner's daughter. She was friendly, efficient and honest. However, the date of my appointment she didn't show and her father was backed up as a result. I'm being fair by acknowledging this likely influence on the service I received. I will list the issues I had and hopefully this isn't the norm. 1. I never was informed that there was an hours delay for my appointment time. It just takes a few minutes to text an update. 2. I was sold a basic alarm at a remote start price. 3. It took a longer than expected time for sub par installation. 4. It was a clumsy, sub par installation as evidenced by the alarm not sounding when he pounded on my car. I had to ask that it be a more sensitive setting. The alarm now sounds when a Harley revs. 5. He neglected to install the glass breaking sensor and told me I'd have to bring it back, for an additional charge! 6. He damaged the door panel and when I brought it up, he told me it was already like that! I was so disgusted with my entire experience, I didn't bother to pay for an element of the installation that I ALREADY PAID FOR! There was clearly no respect for my time, intelligence or money. Certainly no customer appreciation, technical skill, business sence or common decency. I have never been so poorly treated and blatantly lied to in my 53 years of life. I'm sorry to say, I strongly recommend against using this Car Audio installation company. I really wish Yelp offered a zero or - option for rating, particularly for this business. read more

Do not bring your car here if it's older than 2010 he does not know what he is doing and there should be a warning that says. " I do not operate on older vehicles." Cause he will leave you a mess and if you wanna deal with someone who thinks he's more important than everyone else this is your guy, We came in on the day I scheduled in appointment and right in front of us he cancels our appointment for some old guy who's job was more expressive then ours and told us to reschedule right in our faces. I would take a picture of the mess of cables we had to deal with in order to unlock the truck but this guy basically stuffed them back in like nothing happened and handed us empty remotes and said it works . Most of the reviews must be written by family members. I'll tell you this too he didn't even charge me just wasted my time and gas. I had to come here 3 times just for nothing. Oh yeah should've mentioned he charged me 300 dollars for first time installation ( for something he doesn't know how to do) then like at least 3-4 months when I need it repaired he says " sorry forgot, I need the manual" when the manual can be clearly found online overall lazy and snobbish. read more

I was referred to Efren at NV Car Audio, by Dolan Toyota, to get a remote start system installed into my Tundra. Efren took the time to explain the differences between 1 way and 2 way systems. He gave us a break down in price with one warranty vs another and had us scheduled within a week to get the new system put in. I was told 4 hours to get the work completed, and it was done roughly 3 hours later. I forget the name of the person working the counter when I went to pick it up, but he took the time to explain the remote, how to use it, and what the indicators meant. He also explained how to register the new system to ensure that I received the warranty. Great deal, great service, but not the easiest place to find lol. read more

I got my sub installed 3 years ago here, I know nothing about cars, so I just found them here, on yelp and they got me in quickly and for the most reasonable price I could find in town. Has a stereo on back order since March due a supply shortage. Efron did an amazing job once it came in installing it. On the way home the steering wheel control stopped working than started working again the next day. Efron had me bring it right back and changed out the harness. After going to 2 other Car Audio installers and one telling me there was nothing they could do to fix my wiring, and the second was out of stock of any systems to install due to Covid, I found NV Car Audio and couldn't be happier. They got me in within a week and completely cleaned up my wiring issues and installed a new Pioneer Android Auto system that is exactly what I was needing and I got my steering wheel volume control back too. Family owned and operated business that really cares about customer satisfaction. I brought my son's 2009 Today Corolla in to get a new audio system installed. The owner went over the systems and the pricing, told me the parts i would need and might be able to get on line a bit cheaper than he could if i was interested in saving a little bit on the overall cost. He gave me the part number and explained exactly what part he would need to complete the installation. I did in fact find this part on Amazon which saved me $180. Point is, who does this ? He could have easily just quoted me his price, made more money and i would have never been the wiser. When it came to the install he did a great job, all the original parts (old deck + speakers) were kept, he let me know he could put the old deck back in if we were to sell the car so we could keep the new system / install in new car. Not only did Efren come in with the lowest price (1/4 the dealership quote), but he was able to schedule an appointment in a couple of days & did the install in about 30min. First I made my appointment two weeks ago because they were really busy so I had to plan my week day around my appointment. Not going to lie they had the best over the phone consultation because I live in the mountains and I need to drive far to go get a stereo. That's why am giving them two stars and not one. The day of my appt, I tried calling as soon as they opened to let them know I was gonna be 10 minutes late. No answers. Arrived and went inside. Guess there is a Breathalyzer installation place inside, I had no idea that it was a separate entity inside the office and the guy was very annoying and rude. Again he probably wasn't with their outfit but he was in the same Building as their company. When he realized I wasn't a part of his organization he stop talking to me so I went outside to go let them know I was here connected eyes with two people that were working on cars and no one said hello. I just drove two hours to get here and I am now leaving. I am writing this review three hours after my appointment and I still haven't received a call or anything to check on my status with them. Luckily I had to run other errands in the area so my drive out here wasn't completely worthless. I really wanted to support them as they were nice on the phone but I would definitely secure your appointment with them and express how important it is that they knowledge the scheduled start time. read more

Why am I giving Efren @ Nv Car Audio LLC 5 stars? Because yelp only allows 5 stars, otherwise I'd say this business is a 10. Situation: Our family ride is a 2006 Durango. We bought it used and put some good family miles driving to vacation spots. After a couple of years the stereo head unit stopped working. Mind you this is the top of the line Alpine factory system (for 2006 anyway) with a rear DVD system and the in-dash navigation. The first thing we did was start the shopping around process and get pricing to replace the head unit while trying to retain the rear entertainment and steering wheel control functionality. The price quoted to us from the "Best" blue and yellow box store was ridiculously prohibitive of being able to eat a good sushi meal for the next 3 years. We turned to yelp for a couple of reasons- the reviews and the "request a quote" feature. 2 out of the 5 audio shops I requested quotes from answered. The first shop's reply let us know that they would work on a price and get back to us. And yup you guessed it- no follow-up message. I wasn't going to "Battle" with them to get a quote. Almost the same hour that the reply/no reply came to my inbox comes Efren's answer WITH actual pricing based on a couple of scenarios. These quotes already came within the ballpark of what we were thinking, and with his across-the-board 5 star rating, the decision to go with him was easy. Now here is where Efren (and his son-love local family businesses) really shines. He offered an even BETTER price than he originally quoted once he got his eyes on our system and talked to the both of us to tailor what we needed without upsell. It allowed us to also get the factory subwoofer repaired with a JBL cone that we had just learned to tolerate as a road companion that was always there rattling away like an annoying back seat driver... Note: Yes the location is definitely off the beaten path. But that is probably why he can keep his prices down and he locks your vehicle inside the shop if he happens to need to keep it overnight. Outcomes: We don't have a noisy factory subwoofer. We have all the bells and whistles we had before PLUS Bluetooth (not a thing yet in 2006). We found out a lot more about our rear DVD player, because Efren discovered it also has its own infrared dual zone audio capability-meaning with infrared headphones the back passengers can listen to the audio of the movie and the main stereo can be used to play your radio, Pandora, or other phone content via Bluetooth. Put the icing on the cake that we got more and spent less than we would have at the big box store. We drove out of there with a system that sounded better than it ever did and could still afford the sushi dinner that night. Thank you Efren! read more
