They communicated the steps along the way. The original usb was repaired and they transferred the data to an external hard drive. Everything was finished on Tuesday. They are literally my techie super heroes, and I can't speak highly enough of them. My drive was pulled off of my desk and dropped on hard wood floor, and I sent it in to a friend who recovers hard drives and it was out of his scope so he sent it to another data recovery place that was highly recommended. There were multiple problems, and it is a very complicated recovery, outside of a 24 hour deal, but I was still hoping for a relatively timely solution. My work is highly time sensitive and even one lost file is a huge problem, so I gladly paid to have this done. With the other company I was quoted 2 weeks, but fast forward FOUR weeks and they had given absolutely ZERO communication outside of the extremely vague "working on it, it's complicated." let alone any files. I took my drive back and brought it to 24 hour data and already had more updates and communication within 24 hours than I did in over a month with the other company, not to mention I GOT FILES BACK for the first of the four clients within THREE DAYS. They wanted to give me something to get started on while I wait for the rest, which they expect soon. Let me tell you, this means the world to me and I just want to shout it from the rooftops. They've been understanding and kind, and the most wonderful communicators every step of the way. Their customer service, professionalism, speed and mind reader abilities are the absolute best. TLDR/Too Long Didn't Read - 24 Data kicks ass, it doesn't matter what happened to your data, you can trust these guys. Dallas is a freaking data recovering ninja.

The screen replacement was sloppy--visible adhesive around the edges, and the screen wasn't even aligned correctly. Within minutes (definitely less than an hour) of getting it back, the iPad started ghost writing--randomly typing and locking me out like it was possessed. I brought it back, and instead of owning up to their mistake, the guy who "fixed" it tried to blame me for the ghost writing issue. Seriously? It worked fine--aside from the cracked screen--before they touched it. And it gets worse: the manager at the Irving store admitted their Coppell location was closer to me, but still sent me all the way to Frisco, saying their Coppell repair tech "wasn't good either." That's not exactly confidence-inspiring. Thankfully, the Frisco location managed to fix it properly, but I should never have had to drive to a whole different city just to correct their incompetence. They also promised to call and refund part of the $150 I spent due to all the trouble. Of course, that never happened. No call. No refund. No accountability. This place is run by people who don't stand by their work, don't value your time, and clearly don't understand customer service. Shady business, poor workmanship, and even worse management. Save yourself the stress and take your device literally anywhere else.

So I told him to try the more expensive one. 1 hour later I come back and he tells me it's still overheating and it's best I buy a new phone because I don't have insurance. HE TELLS ME he will put the broken screen back on and refund me. I was fine with that. I go buy a new phone and come back and another tech tells me he fixed my phone....THIS WAS NOT WAS DISCUSSED WHEN I LAST LEFT THE STORE. So $600 yes I have a new phone from my carrier but if the first tech would've never set the expectation that my phone wasn't fixable, it would just cost me $200 to fix my old phone. This place is full of young kids that don't care until you get angry and ask to speak with a manager.

The review sites provide the designated method or responding, and generous methods to get inappropriate reviews taken down. This operation looked me up, called me, and texted me repeatedly. Each round gets a little more aggressive. This location quoted $200 more to clone a hard drive before replacing it (going from a factory spinner to solid state). This process involves inserting the new memory stick into an enclosure, selecting source, destination and clone in the software, letting it run 20 minutes, test booting from it, and removing the memory stick from the enclosure. The work is so trivial that most shops include it with the swap quote. Other shops charge about $10 for the incremental labor involved.

They also went above and beyond getting the part for the broken button, which was for an old iPad. The store is very clean and welcoming, and the people who work there are honest and good folks. Also, when I went to pick up originally, there was a lighter spot in the top corner screen of my watch. Very small. Turns out they hadn't pressed the screen down in that area. Another fix that took an additional week. I would've been okay with a month turnaround had they mentioned it before. I think with more attention to detail and some organization they could really be great. Giving 3 stars because even though my watch took a while and they lost my contact information, they still fixed it. It comes with a warranty and they gave me some money off to accommodate all the errors.

Then, suddenly, it refused to boot up in any screen position. I brought it to PC Werx. The gentleman who came out to look at it plugged in a separate monitor and talked with me about his concerns and let me make the decision to not invest any more money in this one because the repair could easily be more expensive than the residual value of the machine. When he asked me if there was information on it that I needed to keep, that was a no, so, there was no urgent need to do anything with it. He mentioned a retailer that he has had good experience with and that happened to be where I buy virtually all computer related hardware, we shook hands and he said thank you. I mean, I'm sure he could have repaired my machine, but he gently let me know his suggestion is to spend my money on something that I'd get better service out of rather than into the one I've worn out.
