I really wanted to like this place. But in a word - horrendous! And awful customer service! We ordered the falafel, samosa, Turkish kabab pita, Moroccan chicken pita and lamb meatball salad bowl online at 7pm. Picked up the order and was home by 7:45pm. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was cold and stale. The lamb meatballs were inedible (cold, dry and hard). The kabab tasted like left over from days ago, the pita pocket is some sort of cake type bread. I reheated the chicken pita pocket but to no avail. The tabouli is basically quinoa with hints of parsley. Pretty much everyone threw their food in the trash after a few bites. Worst part was when I called to complain the lady who answered was beyond unprofessional and gave excuse after excuse. She didn't even offer a refund. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

This place has lots of potential but they need to "warm" up the decor, it feels a little sterile, and given that it is already a little cave like due to the architecture of that building [a big overhang] I think it needs plants and pictures, and better lighting. Food is ok. Tiny portions. The problem I have with this place is customer service. The waiter brought me the wrong order. I brought it up to get my correct order and was told that this is what I ordered (the plate was half eggplant... I don't eat eggplant so I definitely didn't order this). When I said that they're wrong, the person behind the counter said they just had the sauce wrong (yet they didn't correct this). THEN, someone else came out of the kitchen and told me that my plate was given to my sister by accident (it was not, because she ordered something that I did not and it was on this plate of food. Also, she had eaten half the plate already, so what are we supposed to do even if they were right?). Still, no effort to correct my order. I essentially paid $13 for a plate of food that I didn't order and half plate that I didn't even eat. They don't even cut receipts- convenient for them! I finally had a chance to try Dates and Olives by ordering lunch online: a Greek flatbread and a deli side of Tzatziki. My order confirmation email stated: "We make your food fresh and it will take a little time, we promise you will be satisfied." This means your order will be made upon arrival, so be prepared to wait a bit. Hey, at least it's fresh! My wait time was minimal as there was nobody ahead of me. I was very happy with my meal -- very tasty. Also, I added some pita to go with the dip and it was the best pita bread I've ever had. My only negative is the menu is a little overpriced. read more

My picky eater son had a chicken sandwich with nothing else on it and still really liked it since they have toasted and buttered bread and yummy chicken. Fresh, healthy, delicious, friendly, fast, good value- I am so very happy they opened up their second location in Natick. We love this place - great for the weekday where you just don't feel like cooking - we go here once a week! I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it. We were frequent patrons of this place until they consistently made our orders wrong, refused to own their mistakes and refused to make the situation right. For a place that charges the amount they do for a salad, they are in no position to be putting out an inferior product with even worse customer service. On a recent visit the food was extra spicy and the large cubes of cheese took over the sandwich and it was missing several of the ingredients ordered. We called and spoke to the manager who refused to make the situation right. It's too bad because we wanted to give the local establishment our business, but now, we will never order from Dates and Olives again and we will be sure to tell our friends and acquaintances to stay away unless they truly want heart burn and post purchase dissonance from their experiences. read more

I'm honestly shocked at some of these bad reviews, and I have to say I disagree with most of them. Me and my family love this place, this is including my four year old...! We have been here several times, and I feel as though it gets better with each visit. We usually get different variations of the rice bowls, the marination is on point, and the Moroccan chicken is juicy and delicious. You can tell everything is made from scratch, and is consistent. It really is thoughtful food. I often see the chef/owner in there working and to me, that's how you know this place is the real deal. She really cares about her product, and it shows! read more

I have no idea what people liked about this place. I visited yesterday with my family with very little expectations and we were still disappointed. We had grilled chicken sandwich, "Adana" kabab and the gyro sandwich. "Adana" of this place is an insult to the city of Adana and its people. It's probably made of frozen ground lamb plates you'd find in any middle eastern market. The sauces are much too salty, everything looks recently thawed and there is no Mediterranean taste in any of the things you order. I was so disappointed that I still can't get over it. The words "Mediterranean", "Turkish" or "Adana" shouldn't be thrown around so easily. Again people, expect more from restaurants in your communities. This place doesn't deserve anything more than two stars. read more

I'm sad to say that we used to really enjoy this place, but for us, we won't be returning. I've never ordered a grilled cheese sandwich from a kids menu anywhere that has tree nuts in the bread. With the multitude of allergies out there in kids, it just doesn't seem like a wise choice. The menu didn't indicate it when we ordered, so I put it in the comments that there was a tree nut allergy. I thought we'd get a call if there was an issue. I've literally never had an issue with a grilled cheese sandwich from a kids menu before, though. When my husband went to pick up, no one spoke to him about the bread for the grilled cheese having nuts. It was at home (with a very hungry child) that we saw they had written "may contain tree nuts" on the box. When we called to find out more, like other reviews have mentioned, the staff/owner became defensive and argumentative. Very quickly. We asked why we weren't called to ask if we wanted to order something else or why someone didn't speak to him directly at pick up. They said they didn't talk to him because they don't know if the person picking up is the customer or a delivery person. I said they could have ASKED. It would have at least given the opportunity to make a substitution. They spoke as if they had done us a favor by selling us an allergen-ridden with a note on the box. The owner said she had allergies, too, so she "understands." But nothing about the interaction felt like there was the littlest bit of understanding. Just hostility. "You ordered it." ...An item that generally rarely has treenuts and was not indicated on the menu, and I put a comment that there was a treenut allergy. I suggested they at least indicate on their menus that the kids options use bread with nuts, so they put it there now. They said later that ordering through the app doesn't allow the restaurant a way to call the customer. I don't know if this is true, but I still think they could have spoken up in person. Another review indicated the owner let them know she was angry about how Grub Hub pays them. I can understand there could have been other frustrations about how to operate during this time, certainly, and I don't want local restaurants to suffer. We tip on take out like we would if we were dining in, because we know times are hard right now. I'm not here to say order from somewhere else. The food is good. Just for anyone ordering, call directly to order. Both to be able to be clear about food allergies and to avoid the tension that the ordering apps seem to cause. read more

okay so im not gonna lie, the food is really good. but if you're thinking of getting a pita pocket, you might just want to turn it into a salad bowl or something because they make them THICC. i mean, half of my sandwich fell out before i could even take the first bite, so it was essentially a salad inbetween a couple of bread slices. im not sure if they dont understand how portions work or if they just dont care... but the pita pockets are always made with way too much toppings and they always fall out! read more
