Four of us met here for dinner on the patio. It was a nice intimate affair as for moat of the meal we had the area to ourselves. (I believe of they had more shade this would be perfect. having not had Mediterranean food in a long while, this was a sweet and refreshing experience. The staff was attentive and the food was enticing and enjoyable. The assorted dips we started with were a crowd pleaser. And the entrees left tye table salivating for a future visit. What crowned the experience was the owner coming out to talk with us and share some fresh cut watermelon and the storyof theor successful family business. Simple and cozy but, no Mediterranean ambiance. I came with a friend and we were greeted nicely by a young attendant. This place is family owned as he explained and you could feel that. I ordered yogurt drink and chicken kabob. The yogurt drink, it was my first time trying it and I just loved it. It was bit of a hot day and this drink did wonders in my mouth. On the main dish, taste was good but, the chicken, somehow was condimentes with not so Mediterranean flavor. It had a hint of Asian flavor in it and didn't know how to explain that. We ordered catering trays for 20 piled high with perfectly grilled chicken, falafel, rice, fantastic grilled veggies and Greek salad. The portions were huge (great value) and our guests absolutely loved everything. Betty is so wonderful and helped me with ordering and even brought the trays out to the car. She's a gem! When I arrived, I waited a while to be served. The two waitresses barely acknowledged I was present at the front of the restaurant. When finally seated the waitress mentioned that she would return to take my order. After waiting a bit more I decided to leave. I prefer to give my business to businesses that want it. So, tonight my teenage son and I stumbled into this little gem of a restaurant while traveling to Westborough, MA. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by warm and friendly staff and seated in a dining room that was buzzing with tables full of happy people eating what looked and smelled to be amazing food. The mediterranean inspired meal we ordered did not disappoint - it was outrageous!!! For only the second time in my life, I was so impressed with my meal that I asked for the recipe. Now, I can't wait to attempt to recreate the Che Sautéed Chicken dish back home in NY!!! Don't look beyond El Basha when you want great food and great service. Was with party of 6. Started with appetizers of homus, marinated artichokes and fatoush salad. All were great, but really the star of the show was the fatosh. Get the fatoush salad and enjoy. It is simply is that great. The toasted pita chips make the salad a 10+. Had the chicken schwarma for entree. Not sure what the spices were on the tahini sauce but again it brought it to a whole new level. Finally split a rice pudding and baklava for desert. The baklava was sweet but not overly syrupy sweet. My wife and I went to El Basha for the first time tonight. It was excellent! We both had the Azeeme - which is a prefix ($35 per person- very good deal) platter that contains hummus, baba ganoush, salad, and a mixed plate of steak, chicken and lamb kabobs. I have traveled in the bigger cities NYC, SF, LA, Chicago, and the Beltway in Virginia. I started eating El Basha in 2007, my children who are growing up. The boys were not crazy about anything green lol, but the liked the El Basha food, the salads kibbe, hummus, baba. We held a luncheon for 2 classes of alumni. The food was amazing, for every diet in the group from omnivore to vegan, gluten-free and allergies! The staff were amazing, from planning to the incredible care that day, and the chef came out to greet us too. Yelp Friend, Dean encouraged me to come here and I certainly took his recommendation. First of all, I am historically not a big fan of Middle Eastern cousine however I was pleasantly surprised by the menu and the relaxed ambiance. I started with a nice garlic and oil marinated artichoke along with a glass of white wine which I brought with me (BYOB). For my main entree, I decided upon the chicken kabob which came with rice and veg. The chicken as tender and moist and had good carmelization as well a presentation. Only $12 entree. Very nice. Its out of my area so I most likely would not come back here unless I had another appointment nearby. Service was attentive and gracious. read more
