Thank God someone besides Wendy answered the phone! I have been with Dave Murphy and State Farm for about 15 years. They initially were great but as time went on and my policy changed(ie tickets, moving, getting married etc) my premium became absolutely absurd even when compared to other very reputable insurance companies. Farther more, every single month my premium was a different amount--very strange. I was calling to cancel when Jonathan discussed my options and made it clear that my policy was complete overkill on insurance and I was not getting the discounts I should have. Having the same conversation with Wendy just a few weeks ago she had no options to modify my plan to make it comprehensive and affordable so I proceeded to get other quotes. About ready for a cross country move and scared to death I frantically called the office to make sure if the moving company (who have bullied me into using them by keeping deposits if i cancel) if they damage my things will I be covered if they are a sham.... My experience working with Adam was not positive ....... This year I decided to do some comparisons on my insurance portfolio, as I have been with the same provider for 22 years and had no idea whether they were competitive. I was referred to Dave Murphy by a friend of mine who I should add is a happy customer and asked me to give Dave a try. When I called to speak to Dave, I got to speak to Adam as Dave was out of the office. I told Adam what I was looking to do and spent quite some time on the phone with him going over the existing overages for my home, 5 autos, motorcycle and boat policies. It took 4 days to produce initial non-binding 'sample' quotes, which seems excessive for 'sample' quotes. After reviewing the quotes every one was significantly more expensive than what I was currently paying. I understand that there are so many variables that factor into insurance policies, and sometimes certain tweaks can be made to be competitive, but the rates were so far off that it did not seem like it would be a good use of our mutual time to do so. I therefore sent Adam a courteous email thanking him for his time but declining to move ahead. I even provided the comparative quote information by policy as I thought that might help them with other customers. I never heard another thing from Adam ...... At a minimum I would have expected a reply thanking for for considering AllState and also for the time that I spent providing all the information that enabled him to quote. That simple and courteous gesture would have changed the overall experience for me, and instead I am left thinking that this is a disrespectful and disgruntled agent who doesn't fully appreciate the importance of being more respectful of the customer and the overall sales process. The door could have been left open for future business, but now I would not think about calling this agency again. If this is how a potential customer is treated early on in the process it probably only gets worse over time ...... read more

However today one of the employees named Liz completely changed my feelings. She was so sweet and helpful and super patient as I was frustrated. Although I've never met Wend in person, she is very helpful over the phone! She helped me purchase home owners insurance over 4 years ago, and she is still helping me today.
