we have community mailboxes which have larger boxes to put large items in. They put a key in your mailbox to open the one. Unfortunately, the postman never checks to see if these keys work or not. In the last three weeks, I've had two keys that would not open the large so I could not get my packages. One was a birthday gift for my which I had to give to him later. read more

As far as Post Offices go, this one seems to run smoothly and as quickly as they can. I overheard one of the employees behind the counter explaining the best possible option to another customer in order to save him some money. That's not something you hear much anymore. Although it was hard to find parking when I stopped, I chalked it up to the season. With the line, I expected to wait for quite awhile before making my way to the front, but I was really only in line for about 10 minutes. Not too bad at all. read more

I had two packages listed as available for pickup online so I drove to the post office to pick them up. When I got to the customer service desk, they essentially told me that was not a thing. Before I could even finish my question, I was told my package would be delivered the next day and to leave, or I could schedule a redelivery. I told them I tried that, and told them it was scheduled for delivery two days prior. Then they claimed it was put on the wrong truck originally. They told me I needed to check my mail box for a key. I said I had checked that prior to driving 30 minutes to the post office, so they directed me to stand aside while they searched. Multiple times they took my id to "search". An hour later, a manager told me they couldn't find it, but took the tracking numbers and my phone number and promised to call with an update. It's been two weeks and no call. I understand this happens, but the customer service is lacking. I wish they just assisted me with what to do with a lost package instead of giving me the run around. read more

I have two houses, one of which is not covered by the post office network because it is a vacation house. However, I had an international package sent to that address by mistake, so I came to this post office several times for advice. The first few times I met the postal staff were very friendly. An employee taught me how to intercept packages online. Unfortunately, the interception service only applies to domestic packages, so it failed. I followed it up a few more times, all with friendly help and advice. So the day I found out that the package had arrived at the post office, I bought a dozen doughnuts and wrote a thank-you note on the box to show my appreciation for their help. To my surprise, I met a very rude employee. He kept me waiting for nearly thirty minutes before he listened impatiently to my situation. When he found my package, he very rudely accused me of abusing the post office and did not listen to my explanation that it was just a mistake. In the end, he took my gift without saying a word. I received an alert stating that my packages had been delivered at 10:00pm SMH but, nothing in my mailbox. I look at the cameras, and there were no packages put in my mailbox from USPS or at my front door. Once again another expensive package is missing and it's always only with USPS and no one else. This is getting ridiculous and I hate we purchased this house it's been happening on and off for some time. First it was blamed on the coronavirus outbreak there's no excuse for bad service. Holidays are the times mail seems to go missing the most with USPS and that's strange to me. Last time something had gone missing and it was actually my son's ADHD medication. I spoke to the manager and was told that they mail out a lot of mail throughout the day, so for only one package to go missing that day they considered that they have done a great job. So I had to change the pharmacy closer to home, and start picking up the medication from the pharmacy. With all the rumors of the American postal service going out of business, my husband and I try to give our local postal office the business it needs. Though this particular location has not been a great experience. I shipped a package out to Hawaii only to have it shipped directly back to me. TWICE. When confronting the office with this error there were no accountabilities taken. Their staff isn't the friendliest either. Today, my husband went up to the office to inquire about a package that seemed to be stuck in the Memphis location. The teller was not helpful at all. He wouldn't even provide a number or e-mail to contact the proper location to insure the location of our package. To my amazement, we managed to google and find the correct number and the gentleman in Memphis was polite and explained all that was needed to know, for ensuring our package was on its way. I'd would be specific on the employees however, this is a lack of management running their establishment with proper customer service. Hopefully they are able to overcome the simplicities of customer service and bring back that wonderful service that keeps Americans coming back to the postal service. read more

Stopped in to pick up a package after a delivery attempt was made and to also buy stamps. There was a line of about 8 people waiting for assistance and 3 people at the counter, 2 of whom were taking customers while the 3rd appeared to be working on issues with people's packages. While I was in line the line grew, so a gentleman came from the back area and asked if anyone was picking up a package or mail, he saw my delivery attempt slip and called me to him. Once he found my package and gave it to me, it was then my turn in the line. I headed over to Dolly. She was so polite. She showed me all of my stamp options and helped me with my questions about mailing a Christmas card to international destinations. read more

The building itself needs Abit of work but the people working inside are friendly and efficient. We were there on this most recent visit dealing with part of the Christmas rush. The line was not too long when we arrived but it got very long pretty quick. They took care of most everyone in great time. We had to speak to a manager and he was very nice for someone that was trying to accomplish so much so fast. This is one of the locations I don't mind going to. Terrible service...this is a busy place but poorly managed. I have a nearby vacation home, and all of sudden my mail stopped being delivered. Recently I was called out of town for a family emergency. My son had to have surgery for cancer. I went to help him after surgery for his care and the care of his children. That being said, I did not know I was going to be away and did not ask to stop my mail. I do not get a lot delivered to my box any way, but did have a few packages that had already been ordered and could not stop them. I have traveled a lot for work and pleasure and have never put in a hold mail request... ever. Imagine my surprise when I returned to my mailbox and found a form showing I had vacated and for the new people to list there names... I immediately drove to post office and asked about my mail and got told everything was returned to sender! That I had not filled out the required form and if the mail accumulates in your box they take it out and send it all back! I went to the USPS web site and read that if you are going to be away for a period of time, you may WANT TO fill out the hold mail form . No where did it say it was mandatory... yet the clerk in the post office said it is...maybe Just in Davenport! I had about $400.00 in items that got returned supposedly, though the vendors are saying different... No one made a record of these packages, and no one asked my name or address.. Just if you did not fill out form.. everything( whatever that was) is returned to sender. . No one answers the phone there and there does not seem to be a way of discussing why this occurred! I have friends who go to their mail box once or twice a month... I am visiting from Canada and rented a vacation home in Champions Gate. I did not realize that USPS parcels or mail could not be delivered to this address until my package went missing. I went to the post office, filed a report and in less than a hour I received a call from the manager to let me know the parcel was being retrieved and delivered to my door. I believe we may have a dishonest mail person. our community is a new community ( Astoria ) not even 50 homes as yet and not all occupied ( home still been built ) and already packages are posted delivered but not in our mailboxes. I have been here less than 2 months and this my second packaged they posted as delivered and missing from my box that is a locked box only the mail person can get in to put mail. A package was not able to get picked up by me from my mailbox due to I did not get a key to get into a larger lockbox to retrieve it. The package tracking says delivered in 12/27/23. I have not gotten a key yet. Today, 1/2/23 was my first available time to go to the post office to inquire. I spoke with a supervisor who said the lockbox my package was in has a jammed key and I would get a key today to get my package since the mail carrier has a master key. I did not get a key today and I am unable to call to inquire since there is only a toll free number listed. I asked if the letter carrier can deliver my package to my home in the development since I cannot get at it. This is when I was told I would get a key today. I did not get my key. The mail is not always delivered at the same time so I will need to sit out there or go back to the post office (which means taking another day of work) to speak to a person. read more
