Hello Everyone, First I'd like to let everyone know we are from Chicago, so a good plumber, an honest plumber was something I had never met before. This morning we woke to find very icky waste in our shower basin and tub. I called around (hunting on Nextdoor) and everyone was overbooked. I worked my way to Dave, I left a message. Dave called back 20 minutes later, asked for my address (texted back to him) and while he was driving he gave me several instructions to troubleshoot while heading here. So one fine winter evening in my domicile in Eagle, Idaho I hear a noise coming from the living room. It was one of those noises that makes you stop and listen, as not only is it foreign, but you're not certain whether or not it's coming from inside or outside. After a few moments of listening, I begin to turn blue from holding my breath. Into the living room I bound. What I find there is a scene of utter chaos. A large puddle of an unknown liquid, presumably beer, has collected on the floor in front of the fireplace. Having been to college, I was able to narrow down the source of the presumed beer by looking up. The culprit, a can light, was dripping small, yet steady, drops of presumed beer onto the floor. What was really upsetting was that I knew for a FACT the can light in question was not designed to serve liquids, including beer, which was the most upsetting part. I would need to further investigate. Further investigation revealed a shower, located directly above the culprit non-liquid serving can light, was in use. Having been to college, I did some analytical geometry which concluded that this likely had something to do with it. I quickly evacuated the shower but found no signs of beer in there, either (I checked). Shortly after doing this, the unknown liquid (later found to be water) stopped flowing from the non-liquid serving can light. Yelp was consulted for a plumber the next day. After a phone call or two with Dave, he shows up at my door. Being a drain detective for several decades, he immediately got to work with a combination of interrogation and physical evidence inspection. This led him back into the shower where a small bead of caulking was laid behind the flange of the shower knob. Dave said this was 99% likely to be the problem, and a bead of caulk was a lot cheaper than tearing a ceiling apart. After REFUSING TO TAKE ANY PAYMENT, I was instructed to call him the next day if the problem was not fixed and we'd figure something out. Well, the problem was fixed. Thank you again, Dave. I will figure a way to get him paid and if I ever have the need for his services again, I'll offer him a beer, too. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but Dave's service was outstanding. We got lots of quotes to install a new water heater to replace our 22yr old unit in our old, downtown basement. Dave's quote was the most fair, and included the best product. He was able to come out in a week, rather than a month or two later like other companies. Dave answered his phone right away and scheduled an appointment. When he came to install, he and his assistant were very professional, explained the process and while he waited for the old water heater to drain, he fixed a few little plumbing annoyances we had been dealing with around the house at no charge. He recommended ideas to prevent any future issues and overall was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I had to call Dave back two weeks later because we had a small sewage backup (unrelated to the water heater install - it didn't cause any damage, but made me concerned)! He came out the next day, snaked our clean outs with a camera and found some rooting in our main line. He took care of the problem quickly, showing me all that he found with his camera, and made sure everything was working properly! The price was very reasonable, he always stands by his quotes. Dave is trustworthy and comes with solid experience, even working with old homes like ours! I expect we won't have to call Dave again for a while, but if we needed any other plumbing fixes, we will definitely call him again and recommend him to anyone! read more

We had an outdoor water leak of unknown origin. We had a sprinkler guy and another plumber out before Dave. We wanted a second opinion but didn't want to wait. Dave answered his phone right away and was out within an hour (all competitors were at least 5 hours out). He quickly diagnosed the problem and told us what would need to happen. We had to dig out our yard to get to the leak. Dave helped us find someone to do it (at a reasonable cost), and came right out after the pipe was accessible. On a Saturday! He showed us what was wrong, and replaced what was needed same day. The price was very reasonable. Dave and his guy were funny, fast, and trustworthy. Excellent response time and good work. As a first time home buyer, I am new to the market of contractors and even supply stores. The best thing I could recommend is just getting as many quotes as you can and talking to the guys doing your work. I received a few quotes from different large plumbing servicers in the treasure valley, and most just seemed stumped and couldn't get the picture of what I was trying to focus on with my 1939 home. It clearly has character and is a challenge, so I needed someone who understood function and necessity, rather than just "the standard", which would have been to re-plumb my entire home. Dave is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and trustworthy. He has worked on older homes, new construction and has a knack for solving problems by finding hidden solutions. Another plumber came out after a couple unsuccessful self attempts. Not only did this other very large local company fail, but they also caused damage to my neighbor's plumbing. Instead of waiting for days, I called David at 8:30am on a Monday and he was there by 11AM. An hour of labor later, and the problem was solved. David was the only plumbing service in town that answered the phone on a Sunday evening. He was prompt, thorough, and honest. After an inspection and initial attempt, he got us draining again so we could at least not be afraid to flush. There was more work to do (roots) so he gave us our options and worked with our landlord (property management) to get approval for the work. He was back the next morning to finish the job. This was dirty work for a Sunday evening. I appreciate a plumber that isn't afraid to dive right in and comes out with options for his customer.
