Contacted Meridian Plumbing for extensive plumbing upgrades. They were not the cheapest or the highest proposal. Took a year for them to resolve many issues by trying to put a bandaid on an open wound. A new plumber after another, leaves the customer with an inconsistency to a resolution. Was told by two of the four different tech's that showed up, that they don't pay their guy's very well and since the change of ownership a few years ago; the seasoned guys have decided to leave one by one... Finally had to say you get one more chance or I call in another company and go to court. Finally performed to a resolution. Would not normally post such a negative review but hearing their constant radio ad's prompted such. They should spend less on advertising and pay the wage to obtain and retain experienced plumbers. read more

my mother is 80 years old and lives alone and called Meridian plumber to have her bathroom and kitchen faucet replaced and tightened for a leak. $700 later it was fixed. she asked them to reconsider the charge and they did not, and when I called to ask them to reconsider as I thought, they took advantage of an elderly woman they have refused to call me back even when I escalated to a manager. this is very disappointing and I feel everybody should be aware of this. I called Meridian Plumbing to get a quote to replace a tub faucet. The guy who came out was friendly and said I'd hear back in a couple of days. Two weeks later and no contact, so I called to find out what was going on. I was told they'd look into it and get back to me. That was a week ago and still no word. I can't honestly say whether or not they're any good as plumbers since they didn't do anything for me but they are definitely lacking in an ability to respond to inquiries. read more

The first time Galen came over to the house was to install a whole house water filtration system, a new water heater, a hot water recirculating system, a reverse osmosis water system in the kitchen with a feed line to the refrigerator and some bathroom faucets. The second time was to install a toilet, pedestal sink and faucet in one bathroom. Replace two basins and faucets in another bathroom and a new faucet in the kitchen. The hot water recirculating system is great. It used to take about 45 seconds to get hot water to a sink in the master bathroom. Now it's about 3 seconds. Everything Galen does is first class work. Alan M. you have misspoken. As I stressed to you on the phone when you called me to complain about my review (which is terrible you called me to verbally attack me), I was NOT given the option by your plumber to just fix the roman tub valve. The repairman would not do it. He wanted to repair my shower as well, stating that I "will still have a problem with my tub if he doesn't fix the shower too" which has subsequently proven to be untrue, as the other plumbing company I called fixed it just fine. Remember that even though I told your plumber that the shower isn't a priority to me at all, I just wanted the roman tub valve fixed. He would not do it, as I told you on the phone. So that is where the $6,000 came from. It was all or nothing. I was't given the option to just repair my tub valve, and that is why I called you to get the estimate. The repair I needed is the one you are calling "the second problem" - Haa, even though it is the repair I called about. You stated on your response, "For the second problem, to replace the roman tub valve, we also provided 2 choices: replace the roman tub valve by going under the home for $2,750 (requiring two people), or replace the valve by removing tile (to enable access) for $2,180 (tile repair not included). That was all I needed done and Veterans only charged me $780 with one man doing the work to your $2,000+ and two men doing the work! To clarify, I ended the conversation with you not over your $6,000+ monetary question, which you understand came from the quote you guys gave me, but because you were trying to tell me the quote did not happen, which is an outright lie. Also, I told you I was given a written copy. You misspoke saying I did not get a copy. You gave me no apology for the inflated job and higher quote, you were just trying to make excuses for your company's outrageous quotes. I ended the conversation over your unwillingness to admit your mistake. You should be ashamed of yourself. Please don't call me up and bother me about this again. After two major leaks in crawl space due to faulty manufacturing of polybutylene pipe, decided re-pipe of entire system was needed. Meridian Plumbing (Brian Smith, plumber), did an excellent job. Due to great planning, all was finished in less time than projected. He and the apprentice plumber were cautious about placing protection on floors and kept disruption to my household at a minimum. They took time to carefully answer all questions and explain reason for each process. They display pride in the work they do and it is reflected in the finished product. In addition to other work performed by Meridian Plumbing at my rental property in Eagle, I retained them to install a water heater in February of 2014. I was recently notified by my property manager that there was evidence of a leak between the pipe nipple on the water heater and the flex connector which connects the water heater to the house. I spoke with the technician and asked him why there was a leak after only four years which is atypical of most installations (I still have my original water heater at my residence which is 33 years old. No leaks). He told me that the company (Meridian Plumbing) was using substandard nipples at the time and have since changed to another brand. I remarked that now I have to pay for his company's purchasing practices. He told me that he would have to drain the water heater (which he didn't do), and install a new pipe nipple and flex connector for a charge of $131.00. I decided in view of safety and reliability to make the repair. My property manager relayed my concern about getting no relief for the substandard material used and I was subsequently sent an email by Chris Field, Director of Finance, informing me that the owner "Jeff" stated that he was well within his rights to bill me as the installation is only guaranteed for one year. Although "Jeff" is legally "within his rights", this is not good business practice and people considering using this firm should be forewarned that they don't stand behind their work for a period of time consistent with what most people would consider reasonable for such an installation. Furthermore, I was merely asking for some relief or consideration and was not expecting to pay nothing. I will certainly never use Meridian Plumbing again have suggested to my property manager who recommended them to me to do likewise. read more

We googled plumbing companies in Meridian and called the first one that came up. Couldn't have been luckier to call them. We are extremely happy with the job that Meridian Plumbing did for our home! We recently had a basement dug out from our 11 year old home. Almost every bit of plumbing that existed had to be changed and moved up into the joists, New plumbing needed to be installed in the new bathroom, laundry, and bar, our water main had to be moved, and every drain pipe had to be rerouted. This was a MAJOR undertaking, and puzzle to figure out. These guys did it all, including correcting some work that was done previously, moving our water softener system and plumbing our ejector/sump pump. When they came out to give us the estimate, they spent a couple of hours here figuring out exactly what we would need,how they would do it, and explained it all to us. I think that is pretty nice considering they were giving us a free estimate of job that was way beyond a simple remodel. They spent close to a week working on this mess and when it was all said and done, we could not be happier. They were right on with their estimate, and didn't even reach the high end of the estimate, which in most cases like this, I would have thought they would have to max it out. Their price was fair, better than another estimate we had gotten, and they took care of EVERYTHING. The two plumbers who came to work here were absolutely wonderful, very professional, kind and considerate. Brian and Zack worked their butts off, communicated any issues or questions to us immediately and were very organized and respectful of our home, cleaned up beautifully and wrapped up every neat as a pin. I could not be happier with everything that they did for us, and would highly reccommend them to anyone looking for a plumber. This was NOT an easy job, this was highly complicated tangled mess that had to be thoughtfully worked out. These guys obviously can do ANYTHING having to do with plumbing, and then some. I doubt you could stump them with any problem. So, regardless of what you might need done in the plumbing department, I can assure you that you can count on Meridian Plumbing to provide you with a fair price, accurate estimation and high quality work.
