Wrong Dave's Handyman Service! Sorry but according to another reviewer the guy worked Xmas Eve so that's a FIVE in my book any day!

Thor (who I believe is the business owner now) , is just excellent. We had been looking for a handyman for a while and Thor met all of our needs and more. For a reasonable price, he picked up a new kitchen sink faucet for us from Lowe's and replaced our broken one. He was open to fixing various other quick things in our home (a bent drawer, replacing a piece in the toilet, and re-connecting a burner on the stove). He was responsive and reliable as well. I found Dave in an advertisement and let me just say he's HORRIBLE! Not only is he not worth the $80 per hour (I was desperate, because I needed a wall removed in my basement so another guy could repair a leak) he is sloppy, always late or doesn't show up at all. I had a punch list of small repairs like change out electric outlets, fix a faucet head, caulk a bathroom, and a couple other little jobs and he took too long and was milking the job for his $80 per hour. I wish I would have read these reviews, because I would never have hired him. He came over 4 times to finish the job and each time he was 30-40 mins late or he cancelled on me at the day before even though I schedule him a week ahead of time. read more

Thor did an amazing job at our place. We had recently moved in and there were several things to be done and while most other handyman services were very focused on just a few things, Thor was able to handle a wide variety of tasks. From painting entire rooms and touch up painting to hanging pictures; and from fixing hardwood floor issues to assembling furniture, Thor was able to do it all. Above all, he is just a really nice and pleasant person and doesn't compromise on the quality of the job (even if he is running above estimated time). Thor is also very knowledgeable on all aspects of maintaining a property and always had innovative ideas to fix other issues that came up. I called for an appointment 5 days ago. I was told I was scheduled for today between1pm and 2pm. I called this morning to double check, but got answering machine, so I left a message. I also texted this morning and left message, but again no answer. No one showed up by 2pm, so I called this afternoon at 2:10pm, and Thor gave me some excuse about switching from his hand-held planner to an electronic system, and he was not even aware of who I was or that I had an appointment. This man is too disorganized for my needs. I told him I would find someone else, and I highly recommend that others do likewise. If you do decide to use him, then double-, triple-, and quadruple-check your appointment, and.......still don't expect him to show up. read more

I hired Dave's Handyman Service to assemble my daughters outdoor playhouse. It was purchased from costco, and the reviews said the assembly was complicated, but it was beyond complicated. It had many many parts and details and needed a pro. Thor from Dave's Handyman did an amazing job, and was very patient with my daughter as she hovered over him the entire time. It is almost impossible to find a service that does the "small jobs." I needed a front door adjusted. I called five companies, directly, left two messages (that never called back), until I found Dave's Handyman. Thor followed through with his promise to complete the job and the door closes without a problem now. The door is a heavy, solid oak door, and Thor did what was needed to have it close properly. No Show to the appointment after sending text and email reminders.Tried communicating several times he picked up the call once and denied that he was supposed to show up on that day and said that will call right back. Never returns calls, and you'd be lucky to get in touch with him at all. The first time I called, I was warmly greeted and asked what kind of work was needed. I explained that I needed a crawl space access created sometime in two weeks so we could have our home treated for termites. His quote was reasonable, and he offered to call me to come and do the work in the next four days. So he asked me to text him my job request and phone number and he'd get back to me. 5 days later I never heard back. I tried calling him, but his voicemail was full. I sent him a text inquiring as to when he planned to come by. I ended up hiring someone else to complete the work a week later. He installed numerous White Wire Shelves in my master bedroom closet, and suggested a way to install the supports with the least amount of obstruction. He unstuck a frozen old sliding door. He also installed several door handles, a door bell, and straightened several cabinet doors that were crooked.
