Great spot! Clean and plenty of seating. The outside area is great! Ordered the 10pc Dave's spicy chicken bites meal. The chicken was flavorful and delicious, but definitely could've been spicier for my taste. The fries were seasoned well and perfectly cooked. Those pickles, though! The pickles might be the best part of the meal, honestly. They taste fresh and are the perfect acidic bite. The service was also amazing! I was greeted by JJ. Before ordering, I asked if they had WiFi so I could work while I eat and she checked with their team just to make sure. She was kind and helpful while I decided what to order. I asked if they have ranch and she said no, but provided other options like their Dave's sauce, ketchup, or the option to buy ranch at Newk's next door. Turns out I didn't need the ranch because the house sauce was a great alternative. She also came around later on to ask if I needed any items cleared from my table. This is a fun spot if you're seeking flavorful chicken and good vibes. I ordered the 2 tender meal and have to say I was impressed with the level of flavor and the tenderness of the chicken. Also the pickles were so good! Not a fan of the plain white bread they serve the tenders on, but overall the tenders, fries and pickles delivered just the right amount of savory/salty goodness. Staff was friendly and very chill even though they were having computer issues when we stopped in. The inside decor is covered in bright graffiti type murals which enhances the upbeat atmosphere. There's also a very cute little patio in the front that I can see being packed during the summer. Definitely worth a try stop if you're in the area! read more

In town visiting a friend in Fort Collins, we usually go to Music City for hot chicken, which is also very good, but we saw that Dave's Hot Chicken opened up so we went there! I've had Dave's once before in Denver, and remember it being delicious. The Fort Collins location did not disappoint! My friend and I both ordered the two piece tender meal with hot tenders, and an extra side of mac and cheese and kale slaw. With drinks, all of this for two people was under $40 which is decent! The service was pretty quick, and the food was obviously very fresh. They offered additional dipping sauce without any extra charge or hassle. The heat level of hot is perfect, it is a true HOT (not mild, not burn your face off, perfect amount of heat). Goes great with pickles, the dipping sauce, honey, or even just alone. The size of the tenders is also a bonus, they are huge. The mac and cheese is super tasty, not a dry mac, and the kale slaw is perfectly seasoned (not sweet flavored as some slaws tend to be). Fries are decent, not the star but they're alright. The location has plenty of seating and the staff were nice, attentive and offered to take our empty trays for us and bring boxes for leftovers. Happy to see more Dave's Hot Chicken locations opening up in CO! read more

I've only been here once before and while I don't like supporting chains, this one is worth it! We stood in a long line that breezed through very quickly and placed our orders at the register - two mild tenders for the husband, a single HOT slider (these sliders are basically regular sized sandwiches) for me. My husband grabbed a beer (they have four offerings on tap) and I snagged a cup for water. After only a few minutes, our buzzer went off, we picked up our food and headed to the large patio out front overlooking College. They are NOT messing around with hot! I'd heard that "it wasn't that hot" from others, but while I think I'm good with spice, this one got me. I drank more water than I think I ever have during a meal. Believe it or not, I will absolutely be getting this level of delicious pain again (albeit with some mac 'n cheese to tame the flame) - it was mind bogglingly delicious! The portions were huge and the prices were surprisingly low for the quantity and quality of food we got. The mild tenders were fantastic as well! I went to the restaurant for the first time and it was pretty good. The only problem about it was that the people that worked there. I could immediately feel the air wasn't good and the people in general that worked there. They gave me dirty looks and the girl that took me and my mom's order gave us dirty looks. I don't remember her name but she had piercings, a black bandanna on, full face of makeup (which looked pretty) and long nails. That's the woman that took our order. A few minutes after I paid for my food she called my number and I was confused because it was one of those buzzers that tell you when your foods ready. When I went to ask her if the food was ready she said "No not yet.". I then proceeded to tell her that I liked her nails because they were cute but instead of saying "Thank you" she didn't say anything and gave me an awkward look and a dirty look at the same time and she just looked at me like I did something wrong. In that moment I felt awkward, and slightly embarrassed because the way she reacted to my compliment. The rest of the time I ate there I felt awkward afterwards. I know this sounds stupid but I believe that customers shouldn't feel like that. But overall the food was really good and the fries especially. Overall a disappointing experience. The space is incredibly uncomfortable. The music outside was blasting so loud that we couldn't even hear each other. The chairs are very uncomfortable. There is a bar to sit at, but no service at the bar? You have to go back in line to order a drink. The food was fine. No better than the other options around town. I was really excited to try this place. After all the online hype, all the videos and wannabe food critics, I couldn't wait to try this place... until I walked in on opening day. One sign I've always recognized that the food at a restaurant is not going to be great quality is how fast the food comes out. I ordered a number three meal (one slider, one tender, fries) and it came out in less than five minutes. Honestly, I was glad it came out quick since it was insanely busy and very loud inside, so I wanted to leave as soon as I could. Once I got home and saw the food, I thought it looked pretty good. The "hot" spice level is a little hotter than other places I've tried, but still very tolerable. I have to say though, the seasoning tastes very off... not too spicy, just too much of something. You'll taste it when you try it, but consider yourself warned. Overall, very very disappointing experience. Maybe it was the overwhelming crowd or some other factor that caused the quality of the food to go down. I'll stick with Comet chicken or Music City Hot Chicken across the street. I'd actually like to start out by saying the food here is actually decent. Been here a couple of times with a group of friends and all of our chickens were never dry and the flavor has always been good. My friend cannot tolerate spicy foods gets a mild spice and says that's good for him. I prefer spicy food, and I would say a "hot" has a bit of a tingle. And I loveee their Mac and cheese. Super ooey gooey cheesy. While their food is good, the price and the service kinda sucks. It's like $5 for a chicken tender (Granted that its pretty large) and another $2 to put it in a bread roll. And the service here especially sucks. The first time I came, they missed my friends order completely and it took like 15+ minutes for them to get their food. (Everyone else was getting their orders in like 5 minutes-ish.) The manager was very kind and apologized, gave us coupons to use for our next visit. Except we went again recently, used the coupons, and the employees got our order wrong. They gave out so much attitude because you can tell they didn't think we were right. Yes they did fix the order, but the attitude was not needed. This place literally only makes chicken tenders, or chicken tender sliders. It's not that hard to get an order right. I would go back for the food, but I if they get our order wrong one more time I'm just gonna go to Cane's. read more

I wanted to try Dave's as alternative to Canes since I love spicy chicken. For the price I would say it's not worth it. The chicken was pretty good. The seasoning was similar to Music City hot chicken, with a flavorful mix of sweet and spicy. The fries were also topped with the same spice. So I'd say they were good. The bread and sauce is where I had to dock some points. It was literally like 2 slices of white wonder bread that were barely toasted. The sauce is missing something. It doesn't pair well with the chicken because it's too sweet. It would be nice if it had some pepper or some other spice added. The service on the other hand was great. The girl who took my order was full of energy and related to me and my thrifted jacket. It was an overall good experience but I just can't pay 15 for some sub par bread and sauce with only 2 tenders. read more

Dave's is fine. Nothing was bad, or really exceptional. Chicken was a decent piece of chicken and was cooked well. Flavors were okay, we tried mild, medium, and hot. The cheese fries were probably the best part of the meal.
