The First Watch location on College is one of our favorite breakfast spots to visit. We've tried a few different items like the breakfast tacos and the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy with eggs. Both are great options. I recently tried the chimichurri steak and eggs hash from their seasonal menu. It's the most aromatic dish I've had at First Watch, but it's probably my least favorite because it was heavier than other meals I've ordered. I usually get the Chile chorizo omelette with the mixed greens and whole grain toast (that I end up sharing with the table). We also usually order the tri-fecta and a side of potatoes for the table to share. The restaurant is bright and clean. The service is always great from the moment we walk in and we've never had to wait. They leave a coffee carafe at each table so refills are easy peasy. They also have an outdoor patio area out front and it's dog friendly. I love bringing my dog here every now and then to enjoy breakfast with the family. read more

Met friends for an early breakfast and things started out smoothly. Our orders were correct and food was satisfactory. Water carafes were offered which helped keep our cups full. Courteous and kind service, however, still getting inattentive vibes that I often get when I visit this or the Oakridge restaurant. When this S College First Watch isn't busy, I absolutely prefer this location for service and overall experience over the Oakridge location. Not too busy and welcoming, clean ambiance. Parking was easy. Private lot. A bump up with stars since it was a satisfactory visit and overall our visit went swell. Personally, I prefer other locally owned breakfast joints, however, we did all leave with an okay experience. Their menu does come to attract those who are looking for salad greens and unique flavors, ingredients, and a seasonal menu. I wonder if less attentive vibes near the mid and end of our service is because they want me to pay my ticket using the QR code, rather than paying at the register? Maybe I'm too old school and am being too harsh... but it feels awkward, and I often feel like I'm leaving with a "don't let the door hit you on the way out" feeling that doesn't feel so great. They have had quite the turnover in staff over the last year. Some of the staff are great and some are so-so. The food is generally good. They do not have it labeled for food allergens however. There are minimal choices if you are vegan/gluten free. The ambience is casual but it is always clean and cozy. Love the plaque they put up for George Hopper. First Watch is another chain I'm obsessed with! The food and staff are incredible at each location. I always get the tri-fecta, and it's never been bad! The waitress saw me with a book and was very quiet to approach me and avoided un-necessary interruptions. Definitely a new favorite breakfast spot! This location was not near as busy as I've seen the downtown one, so it was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is very comfortable with subtle but nice decor. We were seated right away as well as greeted by our server. I unfortunately can't remember his name, but our server was excellent. He was friendly and prompt. The food was excellent as well. I ordered the seasonal breakfast tacos and they were amazing! They were a bit messy, but so worth it! The potatoes were a little underdone for my liking, but still tasty. The bacon - oh my goodness the bacon. Our family of six flew into town for a quick weekend visit to the Ft. Collins area. Friday morning, 10:00am and the breakfast hungries set in. A quick Yelp search turned up First Watch which was just what we were looking for. I went with a special, the Barbacoa Benedict. Served on corn tortillas this unique "South of the border" take on a Benny featured Hollandaise and also salsa, along with a mildly spiced Barbacoa meat which I believe was pork. Wife N had their pancakes with lemon curd which were great. Side of perfectly crispy bacon. Son's "The Works" Omelette was excellent. Coming from Portland, our impressions are that the food quality was great (equal or better) and pricing is excellent for the quality. Another 5-star visit this week. I like the warm feel inside this First Watch. I lingered for a long while waiting for my breakfast date and my server was gracious and kind. Set me up with a carafe of coffee and water. Once my person arrived, we placed our order and it was delivered quickly since we had limited time at that point. More coffee, more friendly smiles... great food! I ordered the A.M. Superfoods Bowl for the first time. It was delicious! We don't make it here much because I'm a night owl and they're usually closed by the time we're ready to leave the house, but when we make it, it's a treat. We've tried several things here and it's all been really tasty. Been here a few times and we've never left disappointed or hungry. We went here on Saturday because we needed to be out and about early (for me) and knew First Watch is where we wanted to go. I got the Roast Beef and Havarti sandwich, subbed in a chocolate chip muffin instead of the greens, no onions. My spouse got The Works and got it made frittata style, no onions or sour cream; spouse also got one plain pancake. Super delicious and filling. This is tied for my favorite breakfast/brunch place in Fort Collins. This location is very clean, and less crowded (shorter waits) than other places as you get closer to old town. The food is excellent with good portion sizes and reasonable prices. I had the special short rib Benedict. Which is exactly what I wanted...meaty, savory perfection. The arugula is a surprisingly good addition to this dish and makes me feel less guilty about eating the dish. I sampled my wife's truffle frittata and it was really good. I never got a 2nd nite because she inhaled it and claims it was the best thing she's eaten. The service was very attentive and courteous. The good came out hot and promptly. We never felt rushed. First Watch took over all the Egg & I's here in Fort Collins and they're like a hipster IHOP. I love it. The juices are so delicious! They were handing out free samples when we were there. The service was incredible, we had the most charming and personable server who was cracking jokes and being so hospitable the whole time. He was offering all kinds of substitutions to make sure we had the perfect breakfast experience. The food was delicious as well. The pancakes were the perfect balance of fluffy and crispy. We recently had a chance to check First Watch out when we were shopping in the area on Black Friday. Based on other reviewers mentioning how busy they get, we were pleasantly surprised to find it pretty empty when we visited and we were able to go right in and be seated. The seating areas are clean and bright and have a fresh, modern farmhouse decor feel to them. In addition to table and booth seating, they also offer a large family style table where anyone can sit and mingle with other diners which I thought was nice. I had an order of Avocado Toast with a side of Seasoned Potatoes. My son had the Market Skillet and my hubby had the Market Skillet with a side of Cheesy Bob's Red Mill Grits. Our server was friendly and our food came out fast. Everything was cooked to perfection. Even our eggs were hot and runny as they should have been which I find is a challenge for most breakfast places to execute. We all enjoyed our meal and left satisfied. We will definitely eat here again. Just wish they were open later. With our schedule, it's a challenge for us to make it to breakfast/brunch places, so we probably won't get to eat here as often as we'd like :). read more

We wanted to compliment the food but he was "too busy".. but not busy enough to make weird remarks and comments to the female staff. Extremely upsetting to see with my 8 year old daughter. Solid breakfast spot! One of my favorite meals is breakfast and I am fairly picky about which places I call my favorites. I've been here a few times now and I have always been happy with my meal. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially in these pandemic times. We ate inside and found a table in the corner. This particular time I got eggs, hash browns, and a biscuit and gravy. My wife got the "skillet" type meal and toast. The coffee was good, but not stand-out. The food is always good and fresh, but for me it lacks that extra "something" to get me excited. I feel like all the food is done just about the way you might expect it to be made, but without any creativity. I will always be happy to come here and get a good breakfast. Let's be honest - I've avoided this place. Who, exactly, decided that one of our favorite breakfast places, The Egg & I, should become something that I don't recognize? So, I showed them by not going there. I'm stubborn, and I needed to make my point. With my point firmly made, we finally went there yesterday, mostly so that I could collect some intel and blast out a stinging review of this franchise appearing overnight to interrupt my world. NIMBY!....or so I thought. I don't normally wait a whole day to type up some thoughts, and it's now been almost exactly 24 hours. So why did I wait? I guess I just needed time to digest the crow that came with my breakfast. Ahem.... So, yes, I can now see why this Ben & Florentine franchise exploded across Canada over the past 10 years - boasting almost 60 locations there at last count. They've now burst onto the seen in the US, and we should be ashamed of ourselves for being so stubborn about not having these wonderful neighbors over sooner. Shouldn't we? God, I hate it when I'm right about being so wrong. First Watch offers an innovative menu, and they promise to change it up every 6 months to keep us coming back. A neat trick that I now fully intend to fall for. The Headline: Everything we had was great. The Farmhouse Skillet Hash with basted eggs (a special request) was perfectly incredible. I even gave in to the temptation to try the "million dollar bacon", and bacon will never be the same again. Wow! (Don't worry, after the conversion from Canadian dollars, it runs about $5...). There was plenty of friendly staff on-hand, and the meals were served pretty quickly - even during a busy weekend morning. The waiting area at this location was a bit chaotic and spread out, but they offer freshly brewed coffee and water while you wait. They also provide a "community table" for folks who don't have patience for waiting and also don't mind sharing their breakfast with strangers. Now that my attitude has melted, we may just try that seating arrangement next time. So, I hope all of you change-resistant people out there have learned your lesson. Our favorites are the farmhouse skillet, the kale cooler, the million-dollar bacon, and the thick-cut whole-grain toast is also delicious even though it just toast, it's the best kind. They have always tried to accommodate requests. The first time we went here our food was just ok. Since then we hadn't gone back till one day they were all that was close and delivered for breakfast. We were so satisfied with our meal we've ordered again for takeout which is pretty great for a breakfast place, they seem to put a lot of care into prep and packaging the handful of times we have ordered. Their online ordering for pickup only lists half of their menu which is frustrating. For example, you can't order a side of extra toast, or if you wanted the yogurt and granola bowl they won't do that but you can get the chia seed bowl which seems like it would need the same prep and containers. I realize restaurants don't want to do take out but a large portion of their business is undoubtedly going that way permanently. Service here has always been great. They do delivery within a certain range and we love that. They also do curbside pickup for now. read more

First Watch is new to Fort Collins, located in the old space that use to be The Egg & I off of Oakridge. The restaurant has been renovated with neutral colors and rustic barn wood. The menu includes unique choices and the wait staff is good at meeting the needs and anticipating wants. The coffee is smooth and a small pot is left at each table. Salad is standard on some entrees, but potatoes are included if you ask. The table next to us didn't realize this and was disappointed, but their server soon arrived with potatoes. I have to say that I don't know that I've seen Service this poor in years. I entered the store after three people had come in just before me and myself, and then there was a person waiting to pay at the cash register. There was no one at the cash register, and no one to greet customers as they arrived. After several minutes, one of the servers came over to help a person check out and then left. A few minutes later, a gentleman oh, I assumed was a manager, came out of the kitchen area and ignoring another person at the checkstand, and the three people waiting and myself went to talk to a server who had come up with a question. Eventually he seated the three people went over to the checkstand to accept payment from a customer and finally I interrupted to tell them that I had an order to pick up. He went over to a shelf that apparently had to go orders on it that wasn't visible to me And said he didn't see my order and went back to the kitchen to check. When he came back, he asked me if it was under another name and I said my first name is Carl and he says oh that's what the bag says. Carl Edwards. Once a party was seated, the service went pretty quickly. So it seems the entire problem was with the manager and the front end. What a shame! read more

Had brunch here with a friend and we were totally WOWed! Everything on the inventive menu is scratch made. My friend had the frittata rustica and loved it so much she bought the cookbook! I was feeling fall vibes and went for the pumpkin pancake plate. The pancakes had great texture with the whole grain mix they use and the seasoning was delicate, not fakey. One of the healthiest, heartiest breakfast meals I have ever eaten. There's only one negative: I wish this restaurant was situated where I live!! Everything was prepared fresh, hot, and delicious. Food was ready well in advance of the estimated time, which was nice. I had the power wrap which was so flavorful I did not have to use salt, pepper, hot sauce or anything else. It was that good! My wife had the a.m. bowl and it too was delicious. Very filling, she couldn't finish it & ate the second half later. The bread used for both the almond butter toast & my buttered toast was delicious, almost wish I could take a loaf home.
