Wow, Dave's hot chicken... I wanna first say, the response by Brett was a little curious because I didn't say anything about the flavor being bad, but the quality being subpar for my order. I must have gone on a really off night the first time cause I've tried it again several times since and it hasn't came out like that again! Perhaps they were rushed because I did hear the front counter staff yell to the back kitchen to hurry up. However, it seems they now take time to really bring the beloved Dave's essence I've heard so much about! The temperature of the heat now matches, the bread is not soggy, the mac is not runny, and the staff are super nice. When you go for the first time make sure to tell them for a free soda! You've got to see this place for the art on the walls at least. I even shouted out the artist and they reached back out to me! Very nifty. Best fast-casual chicken in Laveen. The actual restaurant and service would get 5 stars. It's clean and the menu is easy to read and understand. The employees were all working hard and were friendly, and rather than make me go get my food when it was ready, they were nice to bring it outside. The only negative in this area is that it's very loud inside, but with nice weather we were able to sit outside so it didn't bother us. The reason for 2 stars is that we would have given the food none if we could have. I got my fries without seasoning and that was the only thing we ate. As fries go, they were standard crinkle fries and were freshly made, but the portion size was pretty sad (I only had 2 before I took the picture). My husband likes spicy and flavorful seasoned food so he ordered the slider/tender combo basket in Medium. He literally took about 2 bites of food and couldn't stomach any more. The seasoning is just overwhelming and you can't taste anything else. Even his fries went untouched. I got the lite mild bites and the flavor of the seasoning turned me off. The manager was polite and replaced them with plain ones, but the breading is weird - maybe a marinade? Like others have commented here, a plain boring piece of white bread is not what I want to have on my tray when I pay good money to eat at a restaurant. Went here on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't super busy but busy enough. The store was clean and bright. The walls are busy and have cool murals. The cashier was nice and patient. We got 2 slider meals and 2 tender meals. For me, everything was way too salty--the chicken, the fries, the sauce. I tried fries and chicken from my kids' meals and they weren't as salty as mine so maybe mine just got an extra serving of salt thrown on it. My slider was medium spiced and my friend got 1 hot & 1 medium. I couldn't tell the difference between medium and no heat. The hot was a little too hot. As soon as it touched my tongue, it went numb and tingled. I love that they serve pickles as a side. The slaw on the sandwich needs a little more flavor. I really love the spicy chicken sandwich -- I order medium spice. The pickles here are super tasty and come as a side to the sandwich but also layered on the sandwich itself. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we ordered a hot box of tenders (10 tenders) with half extra hot sauce and half hot sauce, based on the staff's recommendation (they had shared that the reaper sauce was tooo spicy). We also ordered a box of fries. Candidly, I wasn't a fan of the chicken. It tasted heavily of pickles and the flavor profile just wasn't for me. At the counter, Brandon thoroughly explained the menu, offering different combos and subs that they could do. I ordered the number one, which came with two very large tenders (1/2 breasts)(hot), a tray full of fries, several dill pickles, a small cup of Dave's sauce and two small pieces of white bread. I added a medium drink for a total of $13.08. For those who bashed the bread in their reviews, bread is a great way to temper the heat. If your bite is too hot, take a bite of bread: instant relief but still all the flavor. Pickles help too, if that's what you're into. The food was good. The fries were crispy and gently spiced, the chicken, which was crunchy, very moist and tender on the inside, was generously seasoned. For the heat level, I can take a lot of heat. I often eat raw jalapeños. The chicken was spicy but not horrible as some portrayed. I'll come back to Dave's but probably order the medium. Good meal. read more

Pretty good for fast food. The chicken is slathered in a dry rub of your choice (rather than sauce). The pieces are huge even in the sandwich so 2 is enough for the sandwich, keep that in mind when ordering because their options are relatively simple and you have the option to add on more tenders. I ordered online and picked it up in store. The app had an estimate but didn't notify me when it was done. But super simple to just pick it up. It'll typically take 15-20 minutes from when you order. read more

Man this one hurts. We've been to this Dave's Hot Chicken many times and this is our favorite location. The service has always been amazing and the food, always on point. Unfortunately today we had a rare bad experience at this location. I don't know if they were running low on quality pieces of chicken, but they gave us some of the sorriest pieces of chicken I've ever seen from Dave's. We appreciate that they gave us an extra piece because they were so skinny and small, but they didn't taste very good. We would have gladly waited for a better piece. read more

Worst service ever.. I paid for 9 cheese sauces at 50 cents a pop and that came about 15 minutes after I got my order which I had to ask them twice the status id my order. When asking for manager he told the cashier it's gonna be a min and never came out! They tried to play games by putting some cheese sauce in a bigger cup but when I told them this doesn't look right, they then just carried on with they service of other people!! I have been going to Dave's hot chicken almost every weekend since it's opened. I really love the taste in the spices. I would say unfortunately the Kale slaw has been getting smaller and smaller in the sliders. Which is disappointing it's really good crunch to the sandwich. The atmosphere is nice and fun creative. I would say the layout inside is a little chaotic for when ordering. There's not really a place where the lime begins you just are in between tables while other customers are eating. Makes it difficult to get In-and Out for refills and or pick up an order taking. Great customer service everyone is very attentive. Definitely still a fan and will continue visiting. read more

The chicken was coated in a dry rub; I was expecting it to be wet in sauce (maybe that would have made it taste better). Despite being coated in dry rub the chicken lacked flavor & heat. I know I got medium so I wasn't expecting anything crazy as far as spice goes, but this tasted like nothing.
