Huge selection of both breakfast and lunch food items, an omelet station, made to order waffles, a salad as well as a carving station. The food we tried was all fresh tasting and well prepared. The dessert table was phenomenal with LOTS of choices.

Loaded with hair and just disgusting. So went back to the bar and showed the manager the pictures, he then gave me room 18. Sheets grey and gross but no bed bugs. They took my CC when we got there. I saw on the computer my Booking.com transaction, I had paid in full two days before I got there. I told Robert that, he said oh they just put a deposit down and the charge would be when we got here. Too tired to argue, I handled it the next couple days, ultimately he charged my CC 1028.00, 110.00 more than what I paid through Booking.com. When I got home I had to have them handle it and almost a month later I got my refund. We were there 7 nights, cleaning person said she was the only one cleaning the 25 rooms. Day 2, I had to hunt her down for T.P. She proceeded to give me a garbage bag with TP, towels and garbage bags. Never saw her again. We were here 3 years ago, it was clean and nice. It's now absolutely disgusting. We're from the area, if it hadn't been 4th of July week, we would have left but also they don't give refunds. One night the fire alarm went off at 1:30 am. That was special, someone was smoking in their room. Fred's was a place we went to for years for special occasion dinners, a friend told us he ate there recently and there was mold on his food. This place isn't going to last much longer. So disappointed, don't waste your time or money.

The pic below is just one of at least 12 places where you can sit in total silence and write. There were gazebos, benches, nooks inside, a tent covered breakfast area outside and that's before you get to the fireside camps where other people were "glamping" but hotel people can go sit by one of 12 fire pits! I also went out there during the day and took a nap on a leather couch in an outside tent covered living room in TOTAL SILENCE. Well not total silence. There were birds, frogs, and crickets. There were people if you wanted people (and I met two dogs!) but what struck me was the absolutely silence and solitude I could find. I desperately needed it, and I've NEVER found it like this before. If you go and don't want a balcony, room 104 is the quietest. There's a double door (room and hallway) so any children screaming in delight or adults laughing in the common area is blocked twice. Oh! And there's a trail head to buttermilk falls on property and it's right across from a Buddhist temple which just adds to the ambience. Plus the most delicious food and cider and lake views are found in Ithaca. If you need this, GO.

I was originally booked for the Best Western right down the road but I usually like to book Hilton for the points so I did a quick internet search and this place popped up. The reviews were way better and overall very good so I booked. I'm so glad I did. Don't base your judgement from the parking lot, which needs some work. This place is very clean and well taken care of. You can see that it was an older place but they have worked to modernize it. Our room and the bathroom was super clean as well as the breakfast area and the lobby. The bathroom had a few spots in the shower that needed some help but the bathroom was very clean and the soap, shampoo, conditioner was full! I love that Hilton provides that in all their spaces. They have snack bar in the lobby with any snack and drinks that can be charged to your room, but there is a few fast food options right within the area and there is a new Aldi at the end of the parking lot. I would definitely take a walk and stock up on some snacks and drinks for your room. We were a little nervous because the area is not really diverse so we didn't want to stand out but the staff was friendly and welcomed us and addressed anything we needed. I needed a late checkout and they accommodated me easily. The pool looked clean and they have a small gym with a Peleton and a few others machines. I didn't go in but it looked clean based on what I saw. My favorite part was the breakfast! It was fully stocked and they had some other extras that I haven't seen in other Hiltons specifically omlettes, sausage/bacon and hash browns/potatoes. The first day they had an egg white frittata with green bell peppers and it was SO good. The next day they had cheese omelettes. I enjoyed the selection for breakfast and again the area was very organized and clean. If you have a choice of where to stay in this area I would choose this one.

It took at least 2 minutes to get their attention. We got our room to find out the tv did not respond to the remote. Calling front desk didn't work, because room phone had no dial tone. New remote didn't work either, staff member couldn't fix it either. They gave me an 1-800 number for tech support!!!! Really??? Tried it but after getting questions about what system the hotel had, I gave up and requested a different room. After a very deep sigh, that got resolved. Not the service I am used to at a Hampton.

Remember when you drove long-distance on vacation with your parents in a station wagon and would need a motel along the way? You rarely reserved in advance and there were relatively few chains besides Holiday Inn and Best Western. Everyone carried AE Travelers Cheques. That illuminated "Vacancy" sign from the highway let you know there was a room to be had for weary travelers. Well, this is it. I wanted a hotel about an hour south of Utica for a particular night to avoid too much driving the next morning. Sidney/Bainbridge was exactly the spot on my route. I'd booked it over the Super 8 on the highway based on reviews and not wanting to detour all the way to Oneonta since my reason was to save time the next morning. I arrived at 10:30pm, as planned. You call a number from the office and the owner/family/staff "come down" and check you in. They actually live there--great safety feature for a female traveling alone. My room was clean and very comfortable, if spare and exactly as advertised. Great value too. It did not smell musty. Bath amenities and towels were nice quality. It had a microwave and refrigerator and flat-screen TV, but sadly no coffee maker or even a glass or ceramic coffee mug to heat water (I'd brought a tea bag...), sigh. I'm quite sure they'd have accommodated a request, but I wasn't going to ask at 10:45pm. I will confirm some other reviews: it does seem to cater to people who work on the road and get up early. I suspect some are regulars M-Thurs. There appeared to be a communal space with a gas grill outside (great for group travelers or work teams). I did hear the person in the room above me--not loud or annoying, but it might be for someone not used to apartment living. A freight train came by at 6:30am (I'd gotten up at 6, so no big deal). There are no late night dining options, but there are some gas station/markets to procure something if you need and didn't bring. Early the next morning I awoke to some bird song. The Susquehanna River is literally just behind the motel (well down hill--no flood worries and the river was in flood-emergency when I was there). The delightful surprise was the cute coffee and breakfast/lunch options in Bainbridge, which I definitely recommend. If you're early enough in the evening, there are plenty of dinner options. Because of the proximity to parks and natural areas, this would be a fantastic vacation motel for several days or even a week on a limited budget. Suggestions for improvement: coffee mugs and coffee maker in the room and a black-out curtain for the front window. I turned out the porch light in front of my door, but the light from the neighboring door was on all night and illuminated my room from the gaps in the shade. I forgot an eye mask, not that it should be needed.
