I will start by saying the area where the hotel is located is beautiful and the lobby area was lovely and cozy. We never met any of the staff during our stay as we didn't check in until 12AM as we attended the Scottish Festival in Lincoln all day snd evening, and there was no one at the desk when we checked out at 11 AM. Breakfast is over very early at 9 AM. We felt that is too early for breakfast to be over as we didnt get to sleep until 1 am so we missed it. The room was large, clean, but outdated and had no mini fridge for the leftovers we had so we had to discard them. Our biggest issue were the beds. When I say they were the cheapest, most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in I'm not exaggerating. It felt like a thin layer of cardboard over metal springs. When I first laid down I couldnt believe how uncomfortable it was. I could feel metal springs poking me all over my body. The floor would have been more comfortable! We tossed and turned all night and got a horrible sleep and woke up exhausted, sore and in pain. For $200 a night, it's not worth it to stay here! Please purchase new mattresses! At the very least if you are too cheap to do that, buy a thick, memory foam mattress topper!

I did feel bad for them, they had another guest that was very unconsiderate late at night banging on her room door to get in. Beth could not apologize enough the next morning. Just a tad rich for my blood, plus I couldn't buy for one grandchild and not the other, so I purchased none. But I digress. The inn is old, very old in fact, but it is well appointed, and the rooms have been upgraded as much as possible. They are very small, but very clean and tastefully decorated with bunnies and all. The bed was super comfortable with great pillows. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We pretty much stayed to ourselves, but there were a number of common areas where we could've fraternized with the guests, played board games, read. The outdoor grounds were quite lovely, and in addition to a patio to sit on, there was a large grassy area to walk around, and I believe one could play croquet too... not positive about that part, though. There were no TV's in the rooms purposely, and I'm not sure there were any in the common areas either. I doubt we would've liked that if we had stayed longer than one night... but for one night, we survived. Funny and ironic how dependent we (and most people) are on being entertained by TV's. My only disappointment was, and I knew ahead of time, is that we were staying there on a night their main dining room was NOT open, so we didn't get to dine there. It probably would've been much better than where we did eat, and we would've had the convenience of being right there... but alas, it was not meant to be this time. Their pub was open, but the menu was quite minimal and not anything we were interested in. If ever we should pass through this part of Vermont in the future, I would love the opportunity to stay here again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed sitting in front of the fire place at night after a long day. My rabbit loving sister especially enjoyed all the rabbit decor. The food was amazing! We loved our breakfasts and the dinner we had at 24 Carat, as well as the drinks served at the snooty fox. Definitely one of the best places my mother, sister, and I have stayed.

We got there 10minutes early and were informed some guidelines to follow. Got myself a hat since I forgot to bring one was pretty cold. Since it was during offseason we were only ones there. We were escorted to the gear house and equipped with helmet, safety harness and a latch. The staff gave us a ride to the zip line course and took a truck up the hill. They did tell us to make sure to keep helmet on and seatbelt because it was going to be rough ride up due to it being mud season. It sure was a rough ride up and probably was in the air quite a few times during the ride. I looked at one of the staff and used my foot to secure myself like he was doing to keep myself stable which helped. It was definitely the toughest part of the experience. Once we got to the zip line area we were given a brief instructions for safety and we buckled up and started our zip line session. In the beginning it was a bit intimidating but the staffs were all very nice and made us feel safe during the experience. Once we got going it was very enjoyable and thrilling. It was cold but we were mostly prepared and dressed warm and the hat I purchased helped. The views were also beautiful. At the end we got to go in a treehouse and take some picture at the end. After we finished we were escorted back to the truck and took the van to the main facility which was a mild ride compared to on the way. We dropped off our equipments and left the facility. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and had a great time. Everyone was nice and accommodating made us feel safe. It was also nice that we were only ones there because we got a private session and full attention during the experience. Definitely would recommend for those that enjoy or beginner who would like to try zip lining. My partner who can be la little anxious about these experience enjoyed it and was perfectly fine throughout the experience. The experience was a bit on pricier side but I think it was worth it.

We ride our motorcycles from metro Boston and whenever we arrive--in the rain, the cold, the dark, the garage door opens for us. In the morning we bring a carafe of Peet's coffee up to our sunrise room overlooking the presidential mountains before sitting down to a four course breakfast. Fresh fruit cup, a yogurt parfait with berries, a waffle ( a pitcher of warm maple syrup ), finishes with eggs Benedict. The veranda provides plenty of comfortable seating for reading and reflection--or enjoying a beverage. The Victorian is truly a restorative place that encourages relaxation and conversation--with little effort you can plan your day's activities of hiking, cycling, or site seeing.
