Worst place ever to have any trans work done. Paid 1400 to have trans rebuilt and upon leaving about 10 minutes down the road another problem from transmission. Return to shop to have it looked at and they say to leave it with them. Two days go by without a word on the status of my car and the 4th of July weekend approaching. I decided to call and check on it only to be told that Dave is not around and they will have my truck ready by end of day.....Great I'm thinking until I call at 445 only to find out that they closed early that day for the holiday and I never received a call and my truck was stuck there when I needed it. I finally get a call a few days later saying it's all fixed so once again leave the shop and this time 30 minutes away the trans starts slipping and warning lights come on. I bring it back to them and they say they te going to put another part on it but nope still doesn't fix it. I bring it back again and Dave says that they are putting a trans cooler on it to stop the issue but nope doesn't fix it nor do I think they even put a trans cooler on it after having another shop look at it and looking at it myself I see no trans cooler so blatant lie. I'm now at the point where taking them to small claims court is the only option because even having the police call there didn't seem to do the trick, it actually made Dave furious and made him call me cussing up a storm. So if you have any brains at all..... Do Not Go Here The good reviews they have are probably friends or relatives. 1400 bucks for nothing but regardless one way or another the money is getting refunded or charges reversed for failure to provide services listed on contract. read more

Was referred to them from another shop that doesn't do transmission work for a noise coming from front differential. Was told to drop it off Friday and they would diagnose by Saturday. Dropped it off Thursday night. Waiting for call that never came Saturday. Called Monday and said they would look at it that day and call me back. Never received a call. I called Tuesday and left message with lady that answered phone. Was told I would get a call back later that day. Never got call. Called Thursday and was told noise was coming from differential. I needed to authorize 3 hours of labor to take it apart and see what problem was, and they would call back at end of day. No call Thursday. I called Friday and was told they needed to order parts(bearings) and would be 3 hours labor to install. Would be done Saturday or Monday depending on when parts came in. No call by end of day Monday. I called Tuesday and said they were waiting on parts. I called Thursday and still waiting on parts. I called Monday and was told they have parts and working on it. Should be done end of day and will call me. No call. I called Tuesday, left message, and was told would be called back. No call back. I called Thursday and was told I would be called back. No call. I called Friday and was told finishing up work and then taking for test drive. Will call back before end of day. No call back. I called Saturday and was told they were taking it for test drive and would call me back. No call back. Tired of the B.S., I drove there first thing Monday to take my car back. Owner said, "glad you stopped by". Wanted me to take it for test drive. At this point, as long as it drove I was taking the car. Went through invoice and he told me that he fixed the wheel bearing also. Never authorized this work. So...1 week to diagnose problem, one week for part, and one week for installation. Price was fair and hopefully repair was done right. But NO communication and held car hostage for 3 weeks. Oh, and also noticed both front fender liners were never re-installed. Just hanging loose. Will never go back and highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I think it's hard to find a mechanic who you can trust. I am a single mom who works full time. All of my free time is for my kids. When my car has an issue I can call up and ask a billion questions and either am told to bring it in, or it's probably this, or go here and I can trust what's being told to me AND I'm not wasting my time. read more

Dave's Transmission is such a diamond in the rough! They're tucked back off of the main road in a small shop among a bunch of other offices/garages. I was referred to Dave's shop when my transmission was acting up. Dave found the problem, completely rebuilt my transmission, and put in a new clutch for 1/2 what I was quoted at another transmission shop and 60% less than the dealer quoted for just the trans. On my second trip to his shop, I had a list of things to fix including a new power steering pump that I was sure was shot. I was prepared to drop $400+ on the new pump. Dave checked it out, couldn't find anything mechanically wrong with it, replaced the fluid, and it works like new-$30 charge. The other 6 things on the list amounted to less than 1/2 of what I was prepared to spend and my car runs and handles great! I've found the place I'm bringing my car from here forward. read more

Unfortunately, I can't give 0 stars, since there is no option for that. For over a year now, I've been trying to get my daughter's car fixed, I paid $1400 for the transmission to be rebuild, then I had to take it back several times (one time they police was involved). Right now my car it's been with them for 2 months and it's yet not ready. I called two weeks ago, the owner was confused, didn't know if the car was ready, after admitting that it's not, then said " Mam, we'll give you a call the minute your car is ready".
