I've been coming to eddie once a year since late 2020 for trans drain and fills (I originally thought it was flushes but he corrected me and explained why he suggests that over flushes). Anyways, I had experienced some trans slipping around 130k on my 2013 civic. He suggested getting a product called Dr. Tranny by lubegard (got it on amazon) for him to add after the drain and fill. My car is at 260k and my trans runs nice. Eddie is real nice and a good, down to earth dude. I'm glad I found him. read more

After taking my car to two other shops including the dealership for a diagnosis and no solid answers I was referred to Eddie at Trans-Fixed. Eddie took my car for a test drive and was able to hear the noise the other shops couldn't identify. He had an idea of the issue but couldn't confirm until he got it in the air. The shop was busy and he didn't have any open bays so he asked I call back later in the week. Once in the air he was able to determine it wasn't the transmission or transfer case as suspected. Eddie was honest with me on the repair needed and when to get it done. He did all of this work for no charge. He was friendly, funny, and trustworthy. I will definitely be keeping him in mind for any future transmission repairs. read more

This is the auto repair shop you've always wanted to find ! Fast, friendly and fair priced. No B.S. or bill padding. I brought my car in at 1pm, they identified the problem in minutes, got the parts, repaired my car and had me on the road by 6pm. My dealership can't do the courtesy wash and vacuum that fast. Wow! what a positive experience I just had! After trying several other mechanics (without success) to help fix my 2001 Mercury Marquis which had an engine light (P0750 code - shift solenoid "A") , I called Trans-Fixed and spoke with Eddie. What a fine person - he spent 25 minutes on the phone with me, a complete stranger, at 6 pm - an hour when most shops are closed. We couldn't solve the problem on the phone so I brought the car in and Eddie spent another hour or so troubleshooting including two test drives until the problem was solved. (It was a stuck overdrive button on the gear selector lever) And he didn't ask for a penny! I am sure any other shop would have opened up the transmission and charged hundreds of dollars for work that was unrelated to the problem. It is truly a pleasure to find a person who is not only nice and helpful, but also loves working with cars, knows his stuff and tries hard to solve the problem. And he's not in it for the money. Best auto mechanic that I have ever been to! I cannot recommend Eddie and his crew at Trans-Fixed enough! I was in a terrible car accident several months ago and I was trying to figure out what was going on with my Jeep and when I stopped in at Trans-Fixed to ask Eddie some questions I had, he took me into his shop and explained everything that I had questions about regarding my transmission, and he was patient and honest. I got the run around from 5 different places and shops, including Jeep, and Eddie was the only honest person that I encountered during my crazy ordeal trying to fix my vehicle. I have taken my Jeep to him for two different repairs since then and I could not be happier. The silver lining of my car accident was finally finding an honest mechanic in my neighborhood who I can trust and will also give me a fair price. It is a rare in this day and age to be able to take your car somewhere and know that you will be in good hands and not get ripped off. I would highly recommend bringing you car to this shop for any necessary repairs you might have. So grateful to have found a great mechanic after so many years! read more

Honest and Skilled! I had a clutch done on my Jeep and Eddie went above and beyond by repairing my yoke free of charge. When I asked about a rebuild for my manual transmission he recommended I try a better trans fluid first. And it worked!!! I challenge you to find another transmission shop that would do that! I was recommend to Tran Fixed by my trusted mechanic, Chris at Boss Automotive in Elgin. Im so glad he did. The guy there explained everything to me in detail of what my car needed. They fixed it and had it back to me in a timely manner. The price was right and way cheaper Than Aamco. I hate being talked to like a dumb blonde! I have lived in Meadows over 20 years and never knew of this place. My husband had been having trans problems and went to several of the "big" name companies. They said $500.. $1000. or a new trans was needed. While driving he just happened to see the word TRANS on the building and stopped. Eddy (I think the owner) took the car for a drive, replaced an in-expensive fuse and the car was fixed. Shortly after that the car needed shocked, so I called them and he said they could fix it. They worked with me on a very tight schedule and on the spur of the moment and still got me better quality parts at a better price than the "big" name companies. I am so GRATEFUL we found them. TWICE these guys have saved my bacon in an emergency! First time they repaired my 1997 Silverado 1500's badly leaking rear main seal for HALF of what my usual go-to mechanic quoted me! Second time they repaired a suddenly leaky power steering pump on the SAME DAY, just before the weekend! If everyone did business and took pride in solid, honest work the way Eddie and his guys do, America would be just fine.
