If you don't want to get ripped off go and see Dr. Abri. I hate going to the dentist with a capital H. This experience really opened my eyes into how shady people can be,even doctors. I first went to see a doctor in the west San Fernando Valley who told me that I needed two root canals and I have two fillings that need to be removed and refilled. I wanted a second opinion so I went to Dr. Abri. I'm so freaking glad I did. Just by getting a second opinion I saved myself over $1800. That's a lot to me-that's not chump change. He told me that I did NOT need ANY root canal's, they were perfectly fine and I also didn't need do you have my two cavities refilled. I even asked him if I needed a deep cleaning and he told me no. I'm so disgusted with the other doctor that I will probably be filing a report against him. I can't imagine a doctor telling a patient that they need a surgery that they don't. Doesn't that doctor know that people are already terrified of Dentists. Anyway, enough about that crappy doctor, this review was meant to give two thumbs up for Dr. Abri and his staff that were so comforting. Oh, and,I cannot stand it when a dentist will give you a novocaine injection and tell you you have to wait a few minutes for it to set in then,take off wandering around and by the time they come back it's worn off and I have to start all over again and to top it off they usually act frustrated that I ask for more novocaine because I don't want to be in pain. I did not feel like that in this visit they didn't make me feel like a burden and now I am no longer afraid to see my dentist, once a year, like I'm supposed to. :) read more

I was given Dr Abri's name by my insurance provider, and was happy to see that he had great reviews on yelp. When I called, the front desk staff was helpful in getting me scheduled quickly and thorough in providing information pertaining to parking. Growing up, my dad's best friend was my dentist so I never got taken advantage of; as an adult, I found there are a lot of dentists that try to pressure you into getting things you don't need and I am happy to report I was not pressured into anything during my first visit. The office isn't as aesthetically "fancy" as other Beverly Hills dentist offices I've been to but the staff did a great job cleaning my teeth. The staff is also helping in explaining how much everything would cost before the procedure. Monica was the dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth and she was very warm and welcoming. Dr. Cane was the dentist I saw and she was great about explaining what she was doing while she was doing it. Parking is available in the garage or there is also metered street parking. I visited this dental office a few years ago at the recommendation of one of my colleagues. I saw a female dentist in this office and the dental exam was quite rough--she stabbed my gum above each tooth with the sharp tool used to clean plaque (something no dentist has ever done before or since) to check my gum health. Additionally, she told me that I had seven cavities and needed to get them fixed that day--she acted as though it was an emergency. I decided not to do it that day since I needed to get back to work, but scheduled an appointment for the following week. After my alarm wore off, I went back to my previous dentist to see what he said--he found no cavities. As I said, it's been several years since I've been seen here and have been to the dentist numerous times at two different dentists. No one has ever mentioned a cavity. The fact that the dentist here found "seven" seems quite alarming and unethical. Be careful that they are not trying to scam you in order to get more money out of you and your insurance company. At the time, I read another "filtered" review on here and that person claimed the same thing about being told he had multiple cavities that he ended up not having. Go to a dentist you can trust, not this one. read more

Can I be that weirdo that likens the dentist to a spa? Dr. Abri's office makes your semi-annual cleaning as serene and pleasant as possible and most importantly DOES NOT RIP YOU OFF. I've heard so many horror stories (and lived one myself) of shady, fear mongering dentists, so I'm so glad to have found Dr. Abri. The staff is caring and know what they're doing. I've been wanting a bite guard for a year, and when I switched insurance, they discovered that it was now covered, and I didn't have to fork over $500! Parking can be tricky, but not if you have a late morning, pre lunch appointment. You can park in the adjacent neighborhoods if you're willing to walk, otherwise it's $2/h at the BH meters. Don't park in the insanely expensive garage, though! The office does not validate. read more

It's clean and comfy at the same time. They get me in on time and never keep me waiting in the chair. It's so rare to meet a humble doctor. What's up with that?! Came in for a check up and to pick up a night guard. Everyone was very professional and thorough. Was taken back right away and seated in one of their very comfortable chairs in a room with a view of The Stinking Rose restaurant on Restaurant Row. Would you like to be orally abused? Hoping to feel dehumanized? Then come on down to 50 N La Cienega, Suite 217, for an experience like none other! ] (Note: David Abri was absent for this entire process. Cannot speak to his professionalism.) Things wrong with this place (ranging from the mildly offensive to the unspeakably horrible): -Get there early. No one sitting at front desk. Have to wait for a few minutes before someone spies me. -Asst puts the x-ray sensor in my mouth at angles that are either straight up painful because they're jabbing into my mouth or that are so lackadaisically placed that they shift before he takes the x-ray. He takes ~35 shots; I cannot imagine why they needed so many but can only conclude it's because they were so shoddily taken. -Dentist comes in, looks at my x-rays, asks me a few questions, then says she'll do my periodontal measurements - and that it'll be painful. At least she's honest - my gums are swollen and bleeding by the time she's done piercing them. -Because my gums are so swollen/bloody, she says she'd like to use topical anesthetic for my cleaning. What?! People do that?? "And don't worry if you can't breathe..." !!!!!! "...if you swallow some of this then it might numb the back of your throat so you can't feel your breath." -I was nervous about time since the x-rays/measuring had taken half an hour - thankfully didn't need to worry about the cleaning going long, since it only took 10 minutes with the asst and dentist double-teaming my mouth! The asst was forcing the suction tube all over my mouth (I guess there was an unspoken rule not to remove it at any point??), leaving the inside as dry as the sahara while saliva flowed down my face and neck without anyone cleaning it up! I started to tear up from their overwhelming lack of care/inattention to detail, but of course they didn't notice! -Dentist leaves, but not before recommending that I come in 3-4 times a year to work on my gums. Ummm...scam, much? -Asst stays behind to polish my teeth. He gets the powder on the brush (and in my eyes) before quickly running it over my teeth horizontally - no need to focus on them one at a time! That takes roughly one and a half minutes. -After polishing, asst proceeds to floss. When he gets to my lower front teeth, which have a permanent retainer on them, he decides he doesn't need to spend time going underneath the bar. -Another dentist comes in after he leaves and shows me a chart with numbers on it, saying I have four cavities and when would I like to come in to take care of them? I've never had a cavity in my life before. Fake or nah? You be the judge. -When I ask if they can send the x-rays/photos to my other dentist, he freaks out about my dual dental insurance before saying that giving me a copy of the x-rays will cost $50. -When I ask if they validate, I'm told no. As I pull out of the parking, the attendant says it'll be $8 without validation. I don't know what Dr. Abri is like but please, please do not put yourself through the horror of going here. I scoped out Yelp reviews before choosing this practice and assumed this was a safe bet, but I deeply regret wasting my time and (insurance's) money here. I strongly suggest that you avoid making my mistake. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Abri at a social event. I was impressed with his knowledge of his field and his kind demeanor. I asked if he did aesthetic dentistry to which he replied that he did. His assistant, Anna, also very sweet and accommodating, gave me his card. I made an appointment shortly thereafter. I was greeted with smiling faces and very kind staff. Dr. Abri is very warm, sincere and I was treated with the utmost professionalism not only by him, but his staff as well. I have had him do some aesthetic work on my teeth along with the usual fillings and crown replacements and now implants. I have had implants in the past and have had to make another appointment with an oral surgeon and under general anesthesia had the implants. I suffered with much swelling and pain post op, besides it costing a fortune. Dr. Abri has an oral surgeon who works with him in his office. He did my implant with nothing more than local anesthesia.The procedure was done within an hour and the pain was minimal and I don't recall anymore than minimal swelling, easier than a root canal. I went in today to have impressions for the crown and have an old crown, which had decay under it, removed and impressions made for that besides having another filling. The whole appointment took about an hour and a half. Now the numbness has worn off and I have minimal soreness. I have the best dental experience with Dr. Abri than I have ever had with any dentist I have ever had work on my teeth. A big shout out to Dr. Abri and his staff. You are all amazing!!
