DO NOT GO HERE! My crown fell off, and I needed to understand my options for repairing it. The dentist told me that repairing the tooth was unlikely but possible, and that extraction was the more likely outcome. I was fine with those possibilities and expected that he would examine the tooth and then let me decide how to proceed. I was quoted approximately $4,000 for an extraction and implant, or $1,200 to repair the crown--even with insurance. I thought, "Fair enough, let's see if the tooth can be saved." This is where things got strange. The dentist never actually examined the tooth beyond looking at the X-ray. He was unwilling to remove the crown, which I had temporarily reattached with dental cement, in order to properly evaluate the tooth. Instead, it felt like the focus immediately shifted to getting me to commit to the $4,000 treatment plan. When I asked for an examination, I could hear him raising his voice to the receptionist in the hallway, and I felt pressured to make a decision on the spot. They also recommended repairing two fillings and quoted another $1,000 for that work. I have dental insurance, and I've also paid cash for dental work elsewhere, so I have a reasonable basis for comparison. This experience felt unusually sales-driven and uncomfortable. The dentist was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly spoke about my mouth as if it were in terrible condition. I've never had a dentist speak to me that way before. The entire interaction felt more like a scare tactic than a genuine effort to explain my options and help me make an informed decision. I came in for the first time August 13 at 10 AM to discuss my broken crown. The Front Desk ladies were actually very nice, but the problem occurred when the x-ray technician was going to x-ray my teeth. The first thing I noticed that he was sweating a lot I wasn't sure if he was sick. The main concern was he had black nail polish on a several bracelets with accessories dangling from his wrist loosely. I haven't been to the dentist in a while, so I don't know if it's policy to have nail polish on in Luce bracelets that if you're doing any work in the mouth hygienically the bracelets that can touch my face. But the real problem is, he did not have gloves on. He asked me to open my mouth and he proceeded to try to put his finger in my mouth. I told him you should put on gloves he did say he forgot. He the x ray technician got distracted and notice on my intake form. I forgot to fill out allergy section. I told him I'm allergic to penicillin. He removed his face mask, licked his fingers and went through the paperwork to see if I didn't complete the other sections and then forgot to put gloves back on. I had to remind him to wash your hands and put gloves on. I stated I did not want to get sick it should be safety measures in Place every thing should be clean be sanitized. I told him you have to have gloves on. What he said to me was wild he asked me do I have problem with saliva. I stated yes other people saliva! Avoid this place at all costs. All they care about is their profit. I came in to have my wisdom teeth removed. They do not have a pano x-ray, so they painfully shoved the regular x-ray as far back in my mouth as it would go. The x-rays didn't even show the whole roots. Without a full x-ray, they don't even know how deep the root goes or whether it is close to a nerve. Despite not having a complete x-ray, they wanted to remove my impacted teeth using ONLY local anesthesia (ie: numbing the area). This is highly uncommon for impacted wisdom teeth as they have to cut your gums open and usually crack your teeth to get them out. It is an extremely painful, loud, and uncomfortable procedure that you definitely do not want to be conscious for. At first they said it would be a "simple extraction" so they would only need local anesthesia (which is honestly a crazy thing to say about an impacted wisdom tooth extraction). When I insisted that I wanted to be put under general anesthesia, the truth came out-- they don't have an anesthesiologist. Proper client care would have been to refer me for a pano x-ray and to a maxillofacial surgeon to get my impacted wisdom teeth removed under general anesthesia. Instead they tried to do everything themselves so they could maximize their own profits. They also recommended bone grafting for both wisdom teeth. The surgeon I ended up seeing informed me that a lot of places try to upsell you on a bone graft, but that they are often unnecessary, expensive (not covered by insurance), and can lead to dangerous complications. THANK GOD I did not get my wisdom teeth removed here, because they ended up being very complicated extractions close to the nerve. Both times I came in, they tried to upsell me things that were not necessary and not covered by insurance. Places like this really make me sad. Rather than being trusted healthcare providers, they will intentionally mislead you to try and get as much money as possible. read more

Dishonest & Incompetent!!!!! I can not express in words how awful this dental office is!  Working from backwards for those that don't read long reviews.  After numerous problems, and the actual doctor (Dr. Ali Amir Khan) seemed to be ducking out of appointments, the "L.A. Dental Boutique"  had a lowly dental "TECHNICIAN" install my new Crown because apparently Dr. Khan was too busy with another patient and did not have time to install my Crown that day (even though I made a specific appointment to only see Dr. Khan that day), but to my surprise, he sent his lowly dental Technician to install my Crown instead and left me no choice but to go along with having the dental Technician install my Crown!  The lowly dental Technician did not seat the Crown properly, which resulted in a high tooth.  Also, after seating the crown, he brought a piece of dental floss and put various knots in it to floss between the Crown to remove the excess cement glue, and while doing so, one of the knots got stuck and he immediately tried to pull it back off by yanking on the dental floss up which resulted in lifting the older Crown on the adjacent tooth!  If that wasn't bad enough, he started grinding on my bridge on my upper teeth by grinding the porcelain veneer off of it.  My husband saw this and firmly asked the technician "WHAT TOOTH ARE YOU GRINDING!?!?" to which he admitted to be grinding on the upper tooth to accommodate the lower stainless steel Crown he just installed! (What The Assistant/Technician was grinding, was not a real tooth, it's a bridge with crowns, which apparently, he did NOT know the difference)! This all started due to my Dental Insurance suddenly changing and my gold crown had fallen out and needed to be re-cemented.  Not a big deal right?  Well, I called "L.A. Dental Boutique" to make an appointment with Dr. Ali Amir Khan, so I made the appointment and went into their office.  They told me I could NOT see Dr. Kahn because he only works on Fridays,  so I was forced to see his wife instead.   I felt she was being dishonest and trying way too hard to upsell me.  Not only did she say they "cannot re-cement my gold Crown", but said she strongly recommended an upgrade Crown (stainless steel).  She also said I needed significant other dental work not related to the problem I came in for! I made another appointment with Dr. Ali Amir Khan, and NOT his wife. When I saw Dr. Khan, he was nice, and seemed to do a good job in prepping my tooth for the new Crown.  This is where it starts getting really bad.  I was told by Dr. Khan that I "NEEDED" a night guard because I grind my teeth while sleeping at night.   So the dental Technician took the impressions for the replacement Crown, as well as the night guard (bite guard) and I went home. A week later I got a call from one of the receptionists at "L.A. Dental Boutique" saying they wanted me to go back to their office because I needed to make ANOTHER Crown impression.  When I enquired as to why I needed another Crown impression, the receptionist stated because the Lab required it (obviously because the first impression was faulty due to the incompetence of theTechnician). I made another appointment, and went back and got a second Crown impression made by the same lowly dental Technician! About 2 weeks later they called and said the crown was ready and they could make an appointment for me to have it installed.  I was ADAMANT about ONLY having "Dr. Ali Amir Khan" install my new stainless steel Crown and they assured me he would.  They said again that Dr. Ali Amir Khan only works on Fridays and tried very hard to persuade me to see his wife or someone else, but I refused.  They pushed my appointment for 2 more weeks, and I went back in on a Friday so Dr. Ali Amir Khan can install my new crown.  (please just go back to the first paragraph now!). At that time they said the impression for the night guard needed to be done again (obviously because it was faulty AGAIN), but insisted that the Lab required it.  So back I went to have yet ANOTHER impression done.  Unfortunately I did let the dental technician install the Crown, and it did not fit properly, BOTH the new Crown and the adjacent Crown were high, and the bridge on top was ground & damaged. Fortunately I was able to change my Dental Insurance and was able to go back to my old dentist, and at that point, I had my old dentist replace BOTH Crowns because I was in constant pain for over a month from the 2 crowns being too high. Back to the night guard, which "L.A. Dental Boutique" charged $650 for it. I refused to make the long drive to "L.A. Dental Boutique" after the way they screwed up my teeth, so I asked them to mail me the night guard.  They played games and didn't send it.  Finally after 2+ MONTHS they finally mailed me the night guard. The $650 night guard from "L.A. Dental Boutique" is bulky very painful to wear at night and was inferior to the $2 night guard I purchased on Temu!   (Photo posted here). read more

The lady dentist was unprofessional. I came in because I was having sensitivity when I chew on my teeth she took a x-ray and told me she couldn't find anything wrong. I spoke to the dentist assistant, and he even said that he saw something wrong with my feeling, then, she advised me to go back to the dentist that did the filling and have them check there. I'm super disappointed very unprofessional and I feel targeted. I am a young female who was just coming in for care and I felt like she did not care at all. Do not go here. Stay away from this place. I reported the dentist to the Dentist Board of California. She should have her licensed revoked. The hygienist got stabbed with the tool that she used to clean my teeth. I was so shocked that he wasn't concerned. I reassured him that I do not have Aids but that he should get tested immediately. He called the doctor back to the room to show her how she left her tools. He then cleaned it with alcohol and said to me.... You can't get Aids once the blood touches air?? He also said that they are really only worried about Hepatitis because Hepatitis is spread through SYLVIA.... WTF?? Everything he said to me was incorrect. I wasn't worried. He didn't stick me with the needle that was used on HIM. He stuck HIMSELF. I wanted to get out of there sooo fast. The dentist had already removed my filing so I had a huge hole in my tooth. She then told the hygienist to put a temporary on me. I don't know what he did but whatever he put in my tooth as a 'temporary' fell out. Others complained about the same thing. I wish I saw the reviews BEFORE I booked. I had to get the temporary replaced last night ( same day) at another dentist. He couldn't believe what was left behind in my tooth. He scraped it all off. I told him the hygienist put it in. He asked if the Dentist was in the room. She was NOT. He informed me that it is illegal for a hygienist to perform any of the functions that he did with the exception of cleaning the teeth and doing an initial evaluation for cavities. He infoemed me that ONLY THE DENTIST is allowed to perform those tasks in California or a trained dental assistant under the supervision of the Dentist. She wasn't in the room. She should be shut down! Fortunately, I wasn't pricked with someone else's needle. I saw the tools come out of the plastic packaging. Stay away from this place. I have reported her for a clear violation of her license - allowing non professionals to perform the tasks that dentist should have performed. I requested a FULL refund for the garbage temporary that the Hygienist put in. I wasn't stepping foot back in there. They tried to tell me that they would give me back 50%. I told them I would dispute the charge with Amex. Gotta love Amex. They are reversing the charges. She's not getting a DIME from me. Stay away. Anyone else who's had a similar experience, report her. Don't waste your time at this place. My first and only experience there, they took my ID and Insurance card, and didn't return it. They called me the next day and asked me to come pick it up, saying "I forgot it", even though they held it. Resulting in me missing a scheduled Doctors appointment due to them holding my card(s) which is my proof of insurance/identity. When I arrived and explained my situation, they said "Everyone makes mistakes dude". Then told me they will stop all pre-approved and scheduled appointments since I had an issue. DO NOT COME HERE! It's a total scam. They lied & told me I needed unnecessary work done. Tried to charge me $5000 for it without explaining the procedures or why I needed them. Opened up a care credit line without my consent. Rushed me into getting work done on my initial visit and ended up ignoring the molar I initially went in for and worked on a tooth that had never caused me issues before... can't forget to mention they charged me $500 for a deep cleaning that never happened. They tried to sell me a root canal which was not necessary as my current dentist confirmed. The cleaning was literally a good brush and floss. Already Reported to the California Department of Consumer Affairs and filed a police report in case of violent retaliation. PLEASE AVOID Dr. Ali yelled at me with rage and left me in the middle of the appointment. The teeth filling he did caused me unable to bite for 2 months. I have came to the dentist 3 times for approximately 4-5 hours in total simply for a tooth filling that he did not know how to do correctly. Reasons you should avoid: - Long wait even if you make an appointment, the dentist will go to other patients at the same time during your appointment. - Disrespect and unprofessional attitude. Have you ever seen a dentist run out of the office in the middle of an appointment and yelled at the patient just because he couldn't admit his failure? Despite a proper teeth filling should not cause 2-months of pain by any real/professional dentist in the first place.
