Today I had tooth 31pulled, which is located on the right side in the back by Dr. Yelena Khrapko and I"ll tell you, it was in done in 2 seconds. It was really infected and medication was not helping.I was so surprised and amazed that I didn't feel a thing. I always go to an oral surgeon and have general anesthesia that I pay $300 for in Brooklyn and I heard people screaming getting their tooth pulled that didn't have sedation, but this is the first time without it I am so happy. The Doctor is a Genius and so kind. She is very confident which made me confident to do this. This is it folks I give up on sleep sedation. This is the place to be for all dental necessities. This morning i woke up in extreme pain with a cracked tooth which i have had for 6 months and DIDN'T want root canal (and couldn't either because i was denied approval by benefits) . i was reluctant to call and asked to be fit in, but the pain was unbearable for work. the wonderful woman at the front desk, kindly fit me in....THANK U so so so much! Dr. Rachel and Mariana were ANGELS in scrubs. With a very nervous and scared patient in pain but willing to get my tooth extracted....they were both super sweet, understanding, professional & polite. I have nothing bad to say about the dentist himself but my goodness the front desk is really killing me to deal with I work 6 days a week and have been taking any appointments I can get in hopes they can "squeeze me in" for well over 2 months now as you can tell I still am not being accommodated, I'm in such pain and at my wits end I'm now looking for a new dentist I can't even eat!!! The girls name in Medina she hangs up on me when I ask for a manager I wish there was someone of actual real help there how can there be no management I'll be stopping in to try and talk to the dentist myself cause he never gets my messages to return my calls it makes me very upset I finally find a dentist I like and the girl in the front refuses to help me she states she gives me appointments but I don't keep them mean while I take them cause I'm in pain and am being told she will call me if anyone cancels and never does that either but I can't get off work I'm suffering big time all cause of this front desk person I'm very upset wish I could be helped don't even wanna give one star read more

I made an appointment to see dentist, Yelena Khrapko of Hylan Dental Arts, Staten Island for a routine cleaning.  I waited over an hour before I was called into the examination room.  Waited another 25 minutes before the dentist actually came in.  She asked what I was there for and I can only assume was disinterested in my response, because before I could finish, she stuck the saliva ejector into my mouth. She proceeded with the cleaning, not stopping once to let me spit out excess saliva. She left the room soon after, and I thought she had gone to get something but apparently she was done. She didn't have an ounce of courtesy to even say that she was done. Such deplorable behavior from a supposedly 'professional' person.  I obviously, will never go back there but I wanted to share my experience with anyone looking for a dentist.  Read reviews from other people before choosing a dentist.  Its your money after all, and you have the right to a decent service and a professional dentist. read more

UPDATE: They got much better 12/1/18 UPDATE: The experience above is true, but surprisingly the filling did last 3 years and holding. And the pain eventually went away 2 months later. They are least expensive in Staten Island. So I came back. Came here with my wife I had 2 fillings done and my wife had 2 fillings I waited a month before leaving the review One of my filling was drilled with a hole so big that my brain was shaking during the process and I was charged $20 extra for it being so big, the other filling was a rework on an old filling. After a month both teeth are extremely sensitive and on one of them I am having terrible pains by the gum area even after a month when I eat Basically I have to go back to the dentist Filling are cheap and seems like they won't last a year I wasn't offered more expensive options that I would have been happy to pay for It seems like I was setup for a future root canal My wife same experience except the hole was drilled so big that part of her side tooth fell off 2 days later We are both in pain and uncomfort on the teeth that were worked on and we will not return or recommend It's a nice clean place with latest equipment but unfortunately the skill and quality is not there read more

I try to respect everyone, but these have to be the most idiotic people I've ever ran into. I cant believe how much of a moron someone with the title "Dr." in their name can be. So after 1 hour and 10 minutes of waiting in the waiting area a lady comes in and says the dr will be right with me and takes me into a room. I thought no biggie sinceI bought my ipad anyways So I didn't mind waiting to begin with. 5 minutes later she comes back in and says the dr is still occupied and that she'll X-ray my teeth. Ok no biggie. She does that. Then Ends up coming back again and taking individual pictures of my wisdom tooth 3 times ...ok maybe she's training still no big deal I'm just happy after 2 years of a cracked wisdom tooth I can finally find time to have someone look at it. As this is what the receptionist told me : this is a consultation to examine my problem tooth today and that they'll schedule me another day for the dr to work on my tooth after asking on the phone if they would extract it they same day Doctor comes in exactly 1.5 hrs later from the time I came In and says "hello. How old are you. You have a lot of cavities " ............ not "how are you". "how old are you , you have a bunch of cavities" No f*ing Sh*t Sherlock Is what I would of loved to say but like I said in my first sentence I try to respect everyone so I smile and say "yea. However my main concern On why I'm here is what I told you guys when 1. called in. 2. If I could give this place negative stars I would. How they are still in business is a mystery. Made an appointment on ZocDoc and was called about an hour later to be informed that they would be closed on that day. If you plan on being closed it should state that on a major website where patients can make appoints for YOUR business. Anyway. Went in for my scheduled appointment and wait 2 hours to see the doctor. The dental assistant, who was wearing open toe shoes by the way, gave me the roughest cleaning I've ever had. I've never had to spit so much blood out of my mouth during a cleaning before in my life. Then after my cleaning I waited another hour in the chair while the staff had lunch. After waiting the doctor came and took a look at my x-ray and told me practically all of the teeth on the bottom row needed fillings. That is when I got up and left. What the doctor failed to see on my x-rays was that I had a gum infection that the dentist I saw a month later picked up. read more

I am sure everyone can relate when I say that I am not a fan of going to a dentist. And I've been on a look out for a new doctor for a couple of years, but now I found HER! Dr.Khrapko is very good at what she does, and I could swear her hands are golden. She would calm me down when doing a procedure, and explain everything that needs to be done in the future, being very clear and understanding. What can I say!! Once again Dr Lena did not disappoint! I received 2 beautiful crowns on my last visit. I've been going to Dr. Lena for many years, since she was associated with a practice in Stamford Ct. When she opened her practice in Staten Island, I knew it would be a long drive for us. Although it takes us 2hrs 45 mins to get there, I don't hesitate in going!! I'm more than willing to travel the distance, that's how good Dr Lena is!!! They are open on Saturday's, which is great! And they have the best prices for out of pocket services.(ie. root canals & crowns) If you're nervous about dentists..don't hesitate to make an appointment, she's the best!!!! read more

Dr Habib is the best. My whole family comes here! I wish they had a pediatric dentist, but otherwise they are wonderful! The negative reviews make no sense to me given my own experiences. The dentists here are very attentive, and excellent at their job. I guess you just can't satisfy some people. That being said, I have seen some very rude patients come through here expecting to be treated like royalty. Got a call the morning of and was told the oral surgeon was "sick" and can't come in. I could look past the long wait times if they actually had something to offer, but they don't. I went in regardless of the bad reviews, and I regret it. So do not go to this place. WAITING AND STAFF: There is so much wrong with this place, I dont know where to begin. Upon entrance, you write down your name and wait. Be prepared to wait 2+ hours. Most likely you will not be called unless you remind them that you are still waiting. Meanwhile, you might come across your insurance card and/or ID being scattered and forgotten on the counter, while your personal information is widely displayed for the public. Once you are called in for XRAYs etc, noone introduces themselves to you. Now time to get your xrays done? Good luck there as well. This place needs to be reported. There is no hygiene. The xray person touched the floor and touched sterile equipment in front of my eyes!! THE DENTIST: Okay so after a total of 2-3 hours of waiting and unprofessional mannerism, I was approached by a friendly dentist. Yes she was friendly but thats all she was. She was in a rush, back and forth with other patients and couldnt hold 1 minute straight conversation with me. Thats okay too, however, she failed to do 1 thing that is her expertise. That is to give me proper care. I went there in an agonizing pain and not only I waited so long but also was treated with dirty equipment and bad attitude. I expected the dentist to be professional but did not happen in this place. After 10 something xrays and "im not sure" "i dont knows", I was given no answers to why I have toothache. SHE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY TEETH! She did make sure to tell me I needed to spend about 6000 dollars for cosmetic dental procedures. But here I was with a pain med prescription, no treatment and no professionalism. Overall, I will never go to this place again. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!!! I switched insurances and this is the place my insurance recommended. I went to the dentist in November and everything was good I had no cavities, nothing. I sat down in the chair, after waiting 30 minutes, being switched to different rooms because equipment wasn't working and no one in the office knew how to fix it, then they would speak in a different language, for them to do a terrible cleaning that lasted 3 minutes and for the dentist to tell me I have ten cavities.. TEN!!!! I called Hylan Dental Arts to read me my teeth numbers to compare with my old dentist before going back to do TEN FILLINGS...they read me numbers, without even asking for my name. I WAS JUST AT THE DENTIST 4 MONTHS PRIOR!!!!!! I called my prior dentist to have him examine my files and he said "I don't know what they see, I see good oral hygiene keep up whatever you're doing and don't go back there". Also, they kept putting the spit sucker on my tongue that I kept personally removing because it was hurting me and the dentist asked if everything was ok, when I said I was fixing it she said it's fine just leave it. I left the office with two bloody marks on the bottom of my tongue, in pain. I was only there for a cleaning and left aggravated, in pain, and confused. This place is terrible !!! Do not go , waited over an hour for my appointment. The doctor took 10 minutes for my exam and cleaning ! It was a horrible experience , it was extremely rough and painful . The doctor rushed through the entire procedure and I bleed everywhere because she was so rough , I was noticeably in pain and the doctor didn't care . on March 5, 2015 I took a day off from work to bring my minor children to their dentist appointment. Despite the horrible weather and snow storm we made it to the office on time. Althought, I had to go pick up one child from one side of the Island and another from the other side, I managed to make it to the office on time. The surprise on the clrek's face when we walked in was pricless. She didn't expect us in the office. She told that the dentist left already! WTF?! We had an appointment at 3 pm, why did I managed to make it there with two small children and the dentist couldn't wait for us?! I was furius. The clerks has nor sympathy whatsoever and told me that she has left a msg on my phone. BS!, there was no phone calls from this office, other wise why would I in a right state of mind bring my children to the office in such a bad weather condition?! The interesting part starts later...NO appoplogy came from anyone in that office. I have called several times and left mesages for Dr. Dhaliwal, but I think she didn't even plan to call back. Who cares that she didn't wait for 2 of her patients. I left several mesages to the manager of that office and spoke to the front desk girl Amber. She took a mesage, I told her that if I will not recieve a call back by tomorrow I will write a complaint to the consumer affair and made her repeat that she got the mesage. No calls. What a professionalism! Noone treats customers this way. Especially those with children. I have never incountered such a horrible, unprofessional and disrespected way of treating the customers. I guess they have a lot of them so minus 3 patients is not a big deal for this office. Before you consider going to this place, where stuff don't really care about you, think....think again and go some place else. read more

Bad experience!!!!!!!!! on July 3rd 2014, I went in for a cleaning for 2nd time, first time no problem but was kind of hard cleaning, so went in 7 months later and came out feeling it was sore my gyms, the next day my tooth had pain called a few days later said its a bad pain so I went in she checked ex ray saw nothing, pain a pain cream 2 days later still bad pain she looked at the ex ray said she dont see nothing. gave me strong pain pills still didnot help. To say I'm a nervous person it an understatement, however this place really put me at ease. First off the waiting room is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. I went in and had Marianna Habib fill a cavity. Within a few months the filling started to chip. Today I went to a different dentist because I was not happy with her work. When the dentist did an X-ray of my tooth I was informed that the filling was not done poorly. My dentist explained to me that when she did the filling she did not clean it properly and now I have a cavity under the filling. Unfortunately with my insurance I would have to go back to her because the filling is separating and needs medicine and to be refilled. So now Marianna Habib is costing me 1300 for a root canal and crown on a tooth that she did not fill properly. Very poor dentist who does botch jobs. I would not recommend Marianna Habib. Even though this place has the newest technology it means nothing when you have a poor dentist. read more

The worst. Wish I could give zero stars. Had a root canal and crown and post. Dr. Krapkos staff took bad measurements and had to do it again. The crown sis put in and is so overly large she had to shave it down which wouldn't bother me but she did it so badly that food and floss are getting inside below the crown and causing deteriotion of the rest of the natural tooth. I could even deal with that but whatever she did while working on the nerve damaged another one and my face is hyper sensitive from that tooth up to my nose with just the lightest touch. Now I know why they are the cheapest dentist I ever used. Additionally someone was getting a cleaning in another room and screaming in pain and telling them it was agonizing. Turns out it was an acquaintance of mine and the next day her entire lower face was swollen and all of her gums were bleeding. It took days for her to be able to brush or eat. read more

Avoid this office! Dr. Yelena Khrapko is the worst dentist I've ever been to. She doesn't know what she is doing. She performed an unnecessary root canal on a tooth that she knew could not be salvaged. The tooth was infected and needed to be extracted. She acted in an unethical manner and pushed me to get a root canal so that she could collect the $550 knowing that my insurance would not approve the procedure. However my insurance would have approved the extraction and I would have not had to pay anything. After the root canal, I still had pain and I had to go to another dentist to get the tooth extracted because she could not fit me in for an emergency. The second dentist took x-rays and it showed that she went so deep with the root canal into my bone causing more of an infection. I have had nothing but pain and agony for 3 weeks because of her screw up. I would never recommend anyone to this office - they are terrible! read more
