Being new to the Temecula area after several decades in Chicago, I was in need of a new Dr to oversee my regular health and physical wellbeing. Was referred to Dr Hizon, and with his background in sports medicine, I felt it would be a good fit. I had been experiencing sever back and leg pain for several months making walking and exercising very difficult and painful. I have had several spinal surgeries, resulting in spinal fusion from L1-S1, but had been generally well for over 10 years, no major health issues, and other than the back and occasional knee pain (63 yo with back and arthritis issues, but still very active and mobile, until recently), was in decent shape, according to my Dr in Chicago. At my appointment with Dr Hizon, cannot call it a evaluation or consultation, as he did neither, I was told in general terms that I was going to die if I did not take care of myself, and "would be bad for his reviews". Was told that I was running out of body parts, and needed to change my lifestyle and begin a severe keto diet, with absolutely no carbs, needed to walk at least 10k steps/day (which I was doing until the recent back and leg pain and the reason for needing to see Dr Hizon) and start Pilates, and follow his videos and diet plans and apps. Was ordered extensive blood work and lab test to give him a baseline of my health. Never examined me, never asked me questions, just saw a 63 year old man in pain and decided I was in declining health. Scheduled a video call for a follow up a few weeks out, and I had to travel for a friend's medical emergency, and was the day of my friends procedure, so I had limited time before heading to the hospital. I logged on at 9:45am for a 10am call, at 10:15 I called and explained that I had to leave with my friend for the hospital at 11:00. They explained that once Dr Hizon arrived, he would call me back, no more than 10 minutes. About 30 minutes later, in the hospital and unable to use my cell, I was told that I was reschedule with his nurse practitioner at 1, even though I specifically told them I would not be available the rest of the day. At 1:15 I again received a message and was told I was rescheduled for 4:20. It has been 2 weeks since this all happened and I have yet to hear back from Dr Hizon or his office, neither through the patient portal or a call or an email, nothing. Turns out my results were all good, even better than last year. Have since sent my doctor the results and had a video call with him to discuss the results. I cannot recommend a Dr that asks not a single question of his patients and evaluates you without any examinations. A doctor that uses fear to intimidate and scare his patients into doing as he wants. I saw another Dr in Temecula with my in-laws, prior to my initial "meeting" with Dr Hizon, her first words were " he hasn't retired yet?", that should have been a warning to do my proper due diligence on him, as we all should.

This was my 1st visit with her and she took the time to read through my chart and was able to start our visit with a thorough knowledge of who I was and what my medical history was. She listened to me, took care of all paperwork and already had all bloodwork ordered in the time it took me to walk downstairs to the lab. Her kind and gentle nature definitely shone through. But what I loved the most was that as we discussed different ideas she always resorted back to saying "I am an EVIDENCE-based doctor and make my decisions that way. I absolutely love that in this day and age of opinions masking as fact, she indeed addressed the facts and evidence of each scenario. I have decided to switch my doctor to Dr Tillson. I left today feeling grateful to have found her. Well done!

Never feels like your just a number or being rushed out of the place. I really enjoyed the visit. One of my biggest issues with doctors is when you sit in their office for an hour or more waiting to see the doctor. If you have an appointment, the wait time should never be more then 30min. Unfortunately, as time went by, too busy?, it got worse! He had me in for an "annual check up" last year, had me drawing pictures of clocks like I was in second grade or something, no actual physical at all, had insisted I get bloodwork done, which I had, he didnt even look at it! Oh, he did use his stethoscope to make sure I had a heartbeat on his way out, kind of an afterthought! They then insisted I had to come back in AGAIN in six months after yet another session of bloodwork, no explanation, and no I have no medical issues besides migraines. They didnt like it when I told them I had no intention of getting more bloodwork in only six months, especially since he hadnt even gone over any of it this last time with me, recommended is approximately 3-5 years unless there is a medical condition warranting it, there isnt. Anyway, I've received several prescriptions from him, some are actually CURRENT ones that I take, I contacted his office today and they told me I was no longer a patient there, didnt even ask WHY I was calling, and hung up on me. Said I hadnt been in there since last May, so??? I called back again, ten minutes on hold, and the office manager proceeded to tell ME I was rude, because they'd asked questions and NOT given me an opportunity to answer and then hung up on me - twice? I never got a chance to tell them WHY I was calling. My prescription BY Dr. Gomer will no longer be paid by my insurance so they needed him to contact them to do something called a Prescription Drug Determination so I can continue to receive this (Emgality for migraines). This is an actual current prescription BY Dr. Gomer for me and his office refuses to pass my message onto him. Bottom line: I would NOT recommend going to this facility or Dr. Gomer, whatever office he's currently at! I've never seen such rude office workers in my life and I've seen some pretty awful ones in this area now unfortunately. Office help can make or break a practice, I wonder if Dr. Gomer know that yet? ‍ The office help by name are: Valerie and Chelsea, asst. office manager and manager and I didnt catch the name of the gal who answered the phone at the front desk, but they're all pretty much the same there, BAD!

What once felt like a teammate on my side helping me reach my healthcare goals has now become just another form of control over my life keeping me "in my place" and disallowing me from getting what I need to live my best life. Gatekeeping behavior from office staff who shut me down and are rude and abrupt when dealing with me. They put things in my chart that rightly have no place and then when questioned about it my request are outright ignored. They misinterpret my requests and then send me a cold sharp email outlining why they will not assist me with my request even though they openly admit in the email to have misinterpreted my request and are just trying to make my life difficult. Be careful who you trust to take care of you and your family because once they start putting stuff into your medical records its there for forever and there is no correction to their mistakes that rooted in their misinterpretation of the information you provide them. They will then blame you for not having provided true and correct information so I would advise everyone to take your request to this office in writing and only in writing and to always retain a written copy for your own records so they can not do to you what they are doing to me.
