They took my cell number in case of any cancellations or other issues. We showed up early for the show, hung around for about 45 minutes, the theatre was dark and we later found out the show was cancelled. My wife looked on Lance Burton's Facebook page, in which he stated in effect " he wasn't sure why he show was cancelled in Grand Junction, but he was here twice before and was disappointed the show was postponed. And if you bought tickets, you can get a refund at the point of purchase." He would be appearing the next night in Santa Fe New Mexico. I responded to the Avalon on Monday August 14th, but the box office was closed. I went back on August 17th and spoke with the woman who was working the box office, explained my situation and concerns, she said she would have to speak with her boss. She later returned and advised me that it was not cancelled, but postponed and I could not ask for a refund until it is rescheduled, then I could come back for a refund. I told her that is unacceptable, get your boss. Another woman, who later identified herself as Heather Velasco, Box Office Manager, she said a similar story, that I would have to come back after the show is rescheduled. I advised her of what Lance Burton said on his Facebook page, and she said "he was supposed to change that." I replied that's not my problem. I want a refund and I want it today! Heather already had my information along with my phone number and said she would get me a refund that day or the next day. I tried contacting her on Friday August 18th, with the phone number she supplied on her business card, which went to voicemail. And as of this review I haven't heard from anyone at the Avalon. So I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company. So I won't be doing business with the Avalon Theater again, why would I want the aggravation of dealing with people who can't or won't do the jobs they were hired to do.

Recently, my organization held a major event at Two Rivers Convention Center. We had over 200…read moreattendees, over 50 vendor booths, break out sessions with education speakers and presenters. Taylor Satterly was our point of contact and oversaw every detail of our event. She was spectacular to work with in every regard. She was prompt, professional, thorough and detailed. The night before the event, we had assistance from the staff in setting up our vendor area. Every single employee of TRCC went above and beyond during this process- helping every vendor with a joyful attitude and complete attention to detail. The day of the event, we had breakfast and lunch and the wait staff was professional and completely courteous to each and every person at the event. Throughout the vendor hall and breakout classrooms, the sound and A/V personnel went out of their way to make sure that any and all issues were addressed immediately and completely. What's a girl to do when one of her favorite bands is playing in Grand Junction, but she happens to…read morebe in Denver for work?? Well, she rents a car and makes that 4 hour drive to the small hole in the wall venue to see them! I saw Pepper play here on a Thursday night. As expected for this band, there was a line up to get in at least an hour before doors opened! This venue was perfect for me to see an amazing band up close and personal! When you first enter the building this is where the bathrooms and bar and merch sales take place. Then you walk down to where the music takes place. There are no seats (at least I dont remember there being any). There were sort of three levels to it. The most lower level we'll call the "pit" because really that is where you go to be as close as possible to whoever it is that you are seeing. Then there were two more levels with a handfull of bar tables to put a drink or two on. Each level was separated by railing. It does seem like an older building, but I think that really just adds to the ambience of the venue. :) There are plenty of eateries in walking distance if you want to grab a bite before a show. Parking is street parking. I didn't see a garage in the area, then again I am not a local, so I can only state what I saw as I was driving around looking for a spot to park. I'd see a show here again if the opportunity arrises.
