We stopped in during the off season and got a bottle of wine to go. The employees were harvesting but had a sign to call them for assistance. Due to being off season they did not have the typical tasting, but she let us sample what was ok . Cute space, great patio for warmer months, super friendly employees, love the tasting room being right in the midst of the vineyard. Would love to visit when it gets warmer

Lovely winery! We enjoyed the tasty wine in a shaded area outside, with views of the vineyard. Keep in mind, Utah laws forbid you to purchase and drink a full bottle of wine on the property (even if you're sharing!) Luckily, the amazing staff has an area that is technically private property where you can enjoy a full bottle of wine with your family. The views from that area are incredible, as proven from my photos.

Stopped in for a quick wine tasting. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Very comfortable environment with beautiful views. We ended up hanging out for while and chatting with the host. Great people, very good wine, no high pressure sales but we loved the wine and left with 3 bottles. We would highly recommend.

Being it's the only winery in this area, thought we'd give it a visit and figured it would be nice scenery instead of sitting in a bar. While it's a small winery, with some nice outdoor area in front and back, it only offered sampling at $15+ for six samples (3 white and 3 red). It's a pretty steep price for what basically is a 6 oz pour. Glasses of wine are not offered. The wines were okay nothing knocked our senses off. Honestly we were disappointed, were hoping for a better experience overall.

It is nice to see an oasis in the desert. My friend and I live in NM and stop by a wine tasting and got to sample five wines. It was nice to see a small winery. The wines were great flavors. It has seat areas in the back and front. I bought a wine bottle, Gewurztraminer with a free reusable bag.

Small tasting room. Only enough seats for 4 people inside. At a residence, in a building that once was the garage. So a little different, but that's okay. Sometimes different is good, as in this case. We enjoyed the visit; the whites were good. Husband declared the Riesling as the best he had ever tasted. Normally, Rieslings are sweet, this Riesling was on the dry side, so it was more to our taste. The winemaker was knowledgeable and personable, showing us his backroom operations and explaining in detail his methods. There is a $5 tasting fee. We left with 2 bottles of white wine. We were pleased with our purchase and the price point was reasonable. Interesting to note that as of Sept 2017, this winery and small vineyard is for sale.

They were a hit! Be warned: these are not personal pizzas; this can easily be shared with 2-3 people. We also got 2 salads (their mozzarella and bread on the side is delightful) and a pasta alla bolognese. But the pizza is the real star of the show here: they handmake it in front of you, put it in the woodfire oven, and serve it to you fresh.

The reviews looked…read moresolid, and from what I remembered from our last visit many years ago, there were not many pizza options in town. We ordered the Salsiccia e Funghi, a sausage and mushroom pizza, along with the mussels in white wine sauce appetizer, homemade Italian cream sodas, and one additional limonata soda. The pizza was okay, but not the quality I would expect from a polished Neapolitan-style pizza place, especially at this price point. The mussels appetizer had potential because white wine sauce is exactly the kind of dish we usually enjoy with bread. Before ordering, I specifically asked about the bread because we like having enough to sop up the broth, the way you would expect at a good Italian restaurant. Our waitress said she would bring as much bread as we wanted. There were three of us, and the appetizer came with three pieces of bread. Given the earlier conversation, we later asked for three more pieces. The request seemed to bother her. When she delivered the extra bread, sensing her frustration, we said she could add it to the bill, and she told us she already had. That was frustrating because we had just discussed it before ordering. We were attempting to be more gracious, and she missed the mark with her response. She could have said ok, or thank you, or "no it's ok I told you could have as much bread as you wanted for the mussels" The mussels themselves were also uneven. Several had not opened during cooking, which is generally a sign that they should not be served or eaten. With mussels, the usual food-safety rule is: if they do not open during cooking, do not eat them. The FDA's consumer seafood guidance says clams, mussels, and oysters should open during cooking, and the ones that do not open should be thrown out. That made us question the quality control and preparation of the dish. The cream sodas were mixed. The berry version was delicious, but the mango version missed the mark. It was not sweet at all and tasted like the mango may not have been ripe. A little simple syrup, or ripe mango, would have helped a lot. The unripe mango soda ends up tasting a little like pine sol smells. We were also disappointed because the prices were more in line with what we would expect from a higher-quality meal. For the items noted above, plus one additional limonata soda, the meal came to over $60. I typically tip over 20%, but I took the extra bread charge off the tip, and the tip was still over 17%. Overall, this was not a terrible experience, but it was disappointing compared with what we were hoping for. The food had some good ideas, but several details felt off, and the service created a communication gap that left a bad impression.

There is a drive to get up to the restaurant, and it's alittle tight. If you have a problem with heights, this might be dicey. My daughter and I got prime rib. Both were cooked to our preferred temps, and they came with horseradish and au jus. They also brought sour cream for the baked potato. It's a generous portion, and I was stuffed. I got a side salad and asked for blue cheese dressing. In addition to the blue cheese, I got a lot of chunks of blue cheese. Yummy! My grandkids got spaghetti and cheese pizzas. They enjoyed them and ate good portions (picky eaters). My daughter got creme brulee for dessert and loved it. Our server was very attentive to us, and offered to bring the kids' food out first if it was ready. Our server also had some rocks that glowed under blacklight, and showed it off for the kids. It feels a bit outdated, but it's what makes this place its own kind of unique. I enjoyed it It's unfortunate how unstaffed this place is because it has a lot of potential. When we were here, there was only one waitress serving everyone. We felt so bad. But she still made her rounds and got us our food, just not as fast as we'd want it sometimes We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast! It wasn't always consistent. Sometimes we would order the same items, and different things came out with it. One instance, we tried some grain bowl and the first day it came with two pieces of toast, one with jelly and the other with peanut butter, but the next day both pieces of toast had peanut butter. Minor, but something you'd notice When we first received the breakfast menu, each side of the menu displayed the same card, even though my partners had different items. Just small things that added up to show the kitchen and staff maybe weren't that organized. The worst part of the restaurant is when we ordered food to go to eat in our rooms. We ordered two burgers, and I honestly thought the kitchen heated up a Big Mac. It tastes exactly like one, and even the buns had those sesame seeds like McDonald's. It was absolutely terrible It's really unfortunate, because the place has so much potential, but you can almost feel that the kitchen doesn't care.

The nice young waiter took us to a nice balcony with two tables, and said it would probably be 20 minutes before the kitchen opened back up for lunch. (We were fine sitting on the balcony enjoying the view.) We ordered ice teas and just relaxed after the drive down Unaweep Canyon. We both ordered the "Street Tacos". Now I have eaten street tacos for decades, and if streets were lined with gold, these might be the tacos they'd serve. Everything was perfect. The pulled pork was smoked and succulent, the carne asada was moist and flavorful, and the wild mushroom--yep tacos hongos!--were inventive and delicious. They piled them up like they assumed we were going to require a considerable energy expenditure in the near term. In other words, great good, and great portions at prices a resort in the middle of the desert needs to charge to turn a profit. I need a reason to pass through Gateway again.

We were a little taken aback simply because we dressed as 'business casual' and the waitstaff were dressed to the 9's. But we noticed that almost everyone else there was dressed casually, so we relaxed (i.e. they seem to have a relaxed dress code). Our waiter was prompt taking our drink order (and the water was filled immediately). He explained the special (some sort of fish which both my wife and I thought sounded wonderful) and then let us take our time looking over the menu. When he came back, I asked him about the sautéed mushroom appetizer. He described it and we immediately ordered it. It came out piping hot, and I must say - my wife and I both were 'fighting' for each bite - it was AMAZING. The sourdough bread is fantastic (and was great to use to mop up the rest of the melted butter from the sauteed mushrooms). I ordered the bacon wrapped, blue cheese encrusted filet with the house mashed potatoes and my wife ordered the ribeye steak with the potatoes au gratin. Mine selection was pretty awesome. The kitchen burned the bacon, but the steak was done perfectly and with the blue cheese encrustment and the sauce that came with it, I just pushed the bacon to the side (note - if I had pointed this out, I have no doubt that the staff would have refired the entire plate - so that's on me). However, my wife's selection blew mine completely away. Her steak was done perfectly (medium-rare) and the au gratin potatoes were absolutely to die for (I may have stolen quite a bit from her plate). We have our favorite place in Loveland, Co (4th street chop house) and Colorado Springs, Co (Peppertree restaurant), and we've now added the Winery to that short list. Sadly, it's a little further than the other two, but when we come back to Grand Junction/Palisade, this is one place that won't be skipped! We definitely recommend this place.

The man that told us to visit here actually told of us this, and we saw it in action. We had to tap out after a day of wine tasting. Our party of 4 ordered the Oaxacan, Carne Asada, Bomb Ass Fish Taco, and Pork Carnitas. I would rank them in that order too from best to least best (none were bad, but the pork carnita felt a little dry as the overall consensus of the table). The Poblano fries were amazing.
