Took my autistic son here for 2nd opinion. He developed seizures and wanted to get a second opinion. We went to his office and it was very sketchy. The office was a mess and felt we were in a third world country. The office was rundown. When we went in the exam room it was filled with overstock supplies and smelled like it was not sanitary. The common area or communal area kitchen was so cluttered. We did not know if were in a group home. Dr. Edelman sat on his wheelchair slumped over and reviewing his computer and said very little and could not understand him. My son was so scared of him and did not want to conversate with him. With the very little information he got from us. He prescribed very high dosage seizure medication. We reviewed all the side effects and refused to give it our son. We had another opinion and they agreed with us on not moving forward with it. It could have made him in a more worse condition. We understand that he wants to help treat his patients but he needs to see his own health condition. He is not in the best health and his staff was not helpful and just there for a paycheck. It is a really sad office and for patients seeking his guidance that is no longer available or helpful to them. With deep regret, we do not recommend going to this office. Dr. Edelman needs to retire and enjoy what is left of his life. He has contributed his expertise in his early years that I am sure he was more alert and aware of the patient's needs. read more

Was my Dr for almost 8 years. The first 5 years were normal. Then it went down hill. The Dr is great but then staff is shameful! Answer the phone! There are patients that need their medication. This "Dr" prescribed high doses of Oxycodone, Clonazepam, Oxycontin and Methylphenidate each month to my son causing his death. The Medical Board of CA ordered a stipulated settlement and disciplinary order against Mr. Edelman because of his actions. Look it up Case # 800-2018-044464 He was the cause of my sons death. If you or a family member has had problems with this "Dr" report him to the Medical Board of CA because for some reason, they allowed him to stay in practice. If you see this man, RUN! read more

One of the best surgeons. He did a robotic cholecystectomy surgery on my brother. He has the perfect bedside manner, he is exceptionally knowledgeable and the outcome of the surgery was perfect. I highly highly recommend this surgeon. read more

Horrible office people!!!! They never answer the phones or get back to you. I had to wait 2 weeks for a prescription. I went there in person, knocking on the door and yelling into the mail slot. If I could give zero stars I would....My girlfriend has been suffering from seizures that we needed to see a neurologist right away. Let me start with the office space being a literal dumpster...Mop buckets in the patients room, ceiling falling down, no toilet paper in bathroom...then Dr. Edelman comes in (it doesn't even feel right to call this man a doctor). He is very old, too old to be practicing medicine because he can barely move, stand, talk, or understand what we are saying. He spent the majority of time making jokes about our issues and not giving us any treatment plan or self assurance. He is a joke. I literally felt like I was in an SNL skit. Take my word for it, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! You deserve better care. How can we get this man's medical license revoked? It needs to be done. ASAP! read more

I can't even review this Doctor because you can't get an appointment! No one answers the phone! I spent one full week documenting every call I made to this office. 20 times I gave up. They will let it ring then it goes to a message that says try again later. Other times they will answer and quickly say Dr office please hold and that is it. After 20 min they disconnect. Sometimes it will ring about 6 times then someone picks it up and hangs up on you! So incompetent and negligent are the two adjectives I have for these office people. Do your job. I documented all of these calls and am submitting to Torrance Memorial Network. I was thinking I could drive there just to make the appointment, but I probably would not be able to compose myself to address these idiots. read more

I'm sure that Dr. Edelman was once a good doctor. As a clinician myself, I respect those who are more senior than me, as I know they've had a lot of real-world medical experience. HOWEVER, with all due respect, it is time for Dr. Edelman to retire. I wish that I wasn't in pain and desperate when I was looking for a neurologist. If I had only read these reviews , I would have gone to someone else. The comments about the appearance of the clinic is true, the space under the exam table has become a storage space for cleaning supplies. Dr. Edelman couldn't turn on the computer even after calling his MA 3 times, until they eventually decided to just write his notes regarding my visit on a blank piece of paper. I could have overlooked those, but the assessment that I received and the A/P was also subpar. I could've done, and I have done, a better job assessing and treating myself. It was a total waste of time and I ended up back in the ER 2 days later. Please let Dr. Edelman retire, I'm sure he's paid more than his dues as a doctor. read more

The doctor was quite nice and very accommodating. As for the staff, the two gals up at the front, is all I saw & they were nice as well. I went in looking for some of the issues brought up by others yelpers, but didn't see any. Dr. Edelman took the time to care about my case and helped me through one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. He is kind and understanding to what you need and will help you recover from the pain you are experiencing. He prescribed all the medications I needed whether they worked for me or not and has been a resounding member of the medical field in the Southbay for decades. He helped me regain confidence that my memory after a traumatic brain injury serves me correctly and that over the course of time, I can be healed. If you have medi-cal or medi-care, he is a great doctor to be able to see after suffering any nerve damage. read more

Front Desk staff is very unwelcoming and unprofessional. Leslie is not helpful, she cuts people off and claims that there are no doctors or supervisors on-site when asked to speak to another person. she didnt care to even ask about insurance she goes by assumption. Even if certain insurances are not taking there are options of paying out of pocket, this person made it so hard to even get any type of good information. She seems to hate her job. I would not reccommed a doctors office like this as its questionable to think of what kind of care a person would be placed in. this office staff in rude and non-careless. read more

I would never recommend this doctor to anyone! I was told numerous times by dr. Edelman that I had scarring on my brain and it was nothing to worry about it was something that would potentially go away after a while. I had multiple MRIs and saw this doctor a couple times with no findings. Even though I continuously had headaches these headaches were passed off as swelling of my brain and the way my brain dr. Edelman said that it was scar tissue that kept popping up on my MRIS .. What a joke that was six months later I was in a motorcycle accident and was rushed to the emergency room , because nothing was broken I was released after about three and a half hours I got home and did not move from the couch for about 3 to 4 days, after that I went straight to the emergency room at Torrance Memorial where the ER doctor told me that something was going on, on my brain and he immediately had me upstairs with multiple specialist. The next thing I know I was going through chemotherapy and radiation.. All because of this doctor right here who misdiagnosed me. It is an absolute tragedy that instead of sucking up his pride and saying he was not sure of what was going on that he just misdiagnosed me and that was the end of it I've never once heard back from dr. Edelman or his staff about anything. Apparently it is very hard to sue for malpractice when it comes to brain cancer, so if you are going to go see dr. Edelman DO NOT TAKE HIS WORD FOR ANYTHING TURN AROUND AND WALK AWAY... I truly wish that I could do negative reviews because it would literally be negative my life because of his miss diagnoses.. I show pictures of my MRIS and they are dumbfounded that he pretty much guessed that it was scar tissue and there was no evidence of such anywhere read more

My mom had her first appt with Dr. Edelman today as she had to find a new Neurologist due to her original Neurologist retiring. My mom's caregiver and I accompanied her to the appointment. Dr. Edelman walked into the room and didn't even bid us the time of day - not even a hand shake. I introduced myself and everyone else to him and he didn't acknowledge any of the introductions. He started asking questions, however due to his speech impediment, I had a hard time understanding everything he said or asked. I had to ask him to repeat on 2 or 3 different occasions. The 3rd time I asked him to repeat, he shouted and screamed at me in annoyance. Never ever have I experienced such rude, unprofessional and disrespectful behavior by a doctor - we were all shocked and taken aback by his actions. After he shouted at me, I quickly got up from my seat and shouted at him telling him how unprofessional he was, and that I wouldn't sit there and allow him to belittle me only because of his status as a doctor. I pulled my papers out of his hands and walked out of his office. His two assistants at the front desk just stared as we left the office. In the meantime he walked out of the office behind us and told them that we were leaving. I should have sensed something when I walked into the office, as there was not a single patient in his office. He probably treats all his patients without any respect. My only regret is that I didn't record this confrontation. I am highly surprised that he is still in business. This guy deserves zero stars... I was referred to Dr. Edelman by a close friend who met him as a patient and has known him for several years. Before I made the appt. I observed reviews of him that scared me off a bit. I contacted my friend that referred me and was told of his history and things began to make sense. This Dr. rescued a number of people from a burning building in his earlier years...and collapsed having to be revived. He suffered some neurological damage from this himself.. yet managed to get through his med school and all of his personal challenges dedicating himself to neurology. As a result he has a speech deficit, and suffers from a gait that is often misunderstood. He knows his business and has significantly assisted my friend who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I think that despite his knowledge and his intellect, he continues to be misjudged by people who see the impairments and identify them as something that they are not. read more
