I came here with my adult daughter to get vision correction surgery. I seriously had my doubts because my daughter suffers from anxiety and had very poor vision. Dr Nicole Fuerst chose to do LASIK in one eye and PRK on the worse eye. The surgery was done at the Caster Eye Center in Beverly Hills. Yes, the drive will suck, but once you see the high tech equipment and skilled staff you will be glad you made the drive. The technician who helped Dr Fuerst do my daughter's eyes was incredible. She calmed my anxious daughter down, enough to get the surgery done. In the end, my daughter's eyes were corrected beyond expectations or better than glasses or contacts. read more

Had a great experience with Dr. Nicole Fuerst. I had a retinal detachment that caused a cataract and Dr. Fuerst was recommended by my retinal surgeon. She did a comprehensive exam and gave me three options for lens replacement. I opted for the PanOPtix lens for both eyes. Dr. Fuerst clearly explained the surgical procedure, expectations of result and answered all my questions. She did both eyes, two weeks apart and my vision is amazing. It was a very simple recovery and the new lens gave me 20/20 at distance, intermediate and reading ranges. The quality of my vision is amazing and I'm without glasses for the first time since the fourth grade. Dr. Fuerst has been our family's ophthalmologist for decades. He and his staff are professional, very attentive to our needs and always patient. Earlier this year, during the annual appointment, Dr. Fuerst informed me that I had cataracts in both eyes to which I protested as I'm only in my late 60's. How could that be as my father didn't have them until his mid-70's which Dr. Fuerst corrected? After suspending night driving and taking several severe falls, I determined it was time to visit Dr. Fuerst again. The procedure on the first eye was seamless. Light is so much brighter and colors are vibrant! There is blue senecio in my backyard which I couldn't understand the reason for its name. Before the surgery, it appeared to be a shade of green. The morning after, to my astonishment, I was able to see its true color - blue! I can't imagine the quality of my vision after the procedure on the other eye next week. I recently came to have a LASIK eye surgery here with Dr. Nicole Fuerst and it far exceeded my expectations. My wife recently told me that Dr. Nicole Fuerst had completed a 2 year fellowship in advanced cornea at the renowned Duke University in North Carolina, and had recently moved to the area. I'd been to everyone in the area, but with her recent move to CA, I had not seen her. I called to schedule a visit, was politely spoken to, and able to make an appointment quickly! I was extremely nervous but she and her staff made me feel very comfortable as soon as I walked in. After meeting her, her sweet staff, and getting to know her, she worked up my case and informed that I was a candidate. The procedure was done with perfect precision and I'm happy to say, I'm seeing 20-20, with no dry eyes, and loving life :) Perfect vision with no headaches of glasses or contacts truly is something special. If I can advise anyone, please go see Dr. Fuerst if you want someone who cares, inspires confidence, and is beyond competent to handle whatever eye problem you have, regardless of what other doctors say! The only reason I'm rating this office 3 stars is because the technician and doctors are informative and detailed. The support staff here are really rude. You can't ask a simple question without getting an attitude. I witnessed a couple of patients go to the front desk and inquire on waiting time, and even medication that was supposed to be picked up here in the office, and the staff spoke in a condescending tone, with no level of quality customer service. I called to inform the office that I was running late for my appointment and asked them to call me if rescheduling would be ideal and they made no effort. I sat and waited an hour before asking about the wait time. Here's a suggestion for patients that call your offices asking for your advice on possible rescheduling, call them back and inform them on the status of your office. read more

Not only did they overcharge somebody, Medicare and myself were both charged the same substantial amount but the doctor got my prognosis wrong. I knew this from seeing other doctors in other states who tried the same medication without positive results. These last couple visits I have left with some very useful prescribed driving glasses making my vision a lot clearer for night driving. After procrastinating for almost 2yrs(because of the fear of Cataract Surgery, I decided I couldn't wait any longer, because I was literally Blind in my left eye! I could only see blurred figures, with no detail whatsoever! My right eye seemed ok, but still couldn't read street signs very well. I decided to see Dr. David Fuerst in West Covina. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had probably made the right decision. Everyone in the office was So friendly! I had never had a more extensive eye exam then that day. Because my cataract was so bad, they couldn't see through it to check behind it. That didn't stop the girl testing my vision. She continued trying different equipment, until she was finally able to get the measurements she needed. We set up a date of Feb 10th. I decided on the laser surgery, because it's a little more precise, & the recovery is a little easier. I was so nervous, but again, the staff at the surgery center made me feel so relaxed. The surgery only took about 15 mins, and the results were Amazing!!! From the minute they wheeled me out of the laser room, everything I looked at was so clear, & bright! I was ecstatic! I walked out of there wearing a pair of sunglasses, and read every sign to my wife on the way home! Besides putting drops in twice a day for awhile, there was literally no recovery time. My experience with Dr. Fuerst was so pleasant, that I returned on Mar 4th to get my right eye done. I can now see like I did 40yrs ago. Dr. Fuerst is an Amazing Opthalmologist! Dr. Fuerst is a very thorough and patient man. I (Ann) had cataract removal, along with prescription lense implants 7 yrs. ago. I have worn glasses since I was 10 yrs. old. I am now 76 and no longer need any kind of glasses (I was nearsighted and had astigmatism). It's wonderful! I highly recommend Dr. Fuerst and his staff. I had my wife looking for a Optometrist for me as I possibly would need cataract surgery. She came across Dr. Fuerst who was practically in my back yard. My wife called the office and had all her questions answered and had a very pleasant experience while booking my appointment on the phone. I went in for my appointment as was treated well by the entire office. I ended up getting diagnosed with a cataract/glaucoma. I booked Dr. Fuerst's Tuesday Special :) that was a 3 in 1 surgery that included a cataract removal/I-stent for glaucoma and an astigmatism lens implant. As I was very nervous as hell with the upcoming surgery the support staff at the surgery center were just as great. Now 6 weeks after surgery I can see again...Woohoo! This happened some time ago but I'm finally getting this off my chest. Dr. Fuerst botched a cataract surgery so badly on my husband that he had 2 subsequent surgeries on the same eye, unspeakable pain, and developed glaucoma. The night of the surgery the pain was excruciating but when we called the Dr. we got his voicemail. When we got in, still suffering in pain, he admitted that the lens had flipped over and was "lost" in the eye. He referred us to a Retinologist. We never returned to Dr. Fuerst, and this was a nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone. The lens is still back there somewhere, and we deal with expensive eye drops, and regular doctor visits to try and control the glaucoma. Friends said we should have sued, but we didn't. My husband eventually got brave enough to have cataract surgery on his other eye by another ophthalmologist and it came out fine. read more
