Absolutely the worst place. The wait time is ridiculous. Not organized at all. Have to make 2 different apt to be able to just see the eye dr. You'll go in on time to your appt and won't leave for almost 2 hrs after. All due to just waiting to see someone. They over book. First and foremost please make note, this is not about Dr Surti personally but about her partner, I believe her name is Dr Lin. (I am not sure because she was so un personable and never introduced herself) For easy reading I will number the process I went through. 1. An eye/vision exam appt. where I waited 45 min in waiting room and spent maybe 8 minutes in exam with Dr Surti's partner. She walked in and (maybe she was having bad day) did not even greet me and started the exam. I kid you not, I was in there and out before I knew it. I was going out of the country and needed updated prescription that same day because I had been suffering from vertigo and I thought maybe that would help. 2. I got the prescription and went to lens crafters in the West Covina mall to fill it. They are always great (especially Nicole) and I got them filled. When I picked them up I told them they felt funny and they said it was probably that I had to get use to them. 3. I went on my trip and never got used to them and I kept getting lite headed every time I tried to put them on during trip so I stopped using them. 4. When I got back I called lens crafters and they said they would fix them but that I should verify the prescription was right. They would be happy to make things right. They had made the glasses with the exact prescription given to them and verified it for me. They checked and said it could be that no prism was added as previously in past prescriptions. 5. I went back to Citrus Valley eye care and asked if they could check me again. They said no, took the prescription to the back office and Dr there re wrote the prescription with prism and receptionist handed me paper with new prescription. The Dr did not bother to communicate with me and there was no apology. 6. I went back to lens crafters and they fixed the glasses. I picked them up and there was slight improvement but still not right. 7. Since Citrus Valley Eye care would not make things right, I had to make appt with another eye Dr and pay $125. for exam because my insurance had already paid Citrus Valley eye care. Only to find, the prescription was wrong all along. I called their office and told them. There was NO apology, no call, nothing to make things right. They refused to give up payment from my insurance so I could get reimbursed. 8. I took the new prescription the new Dr gave me to Lens crafters and they filled it immediately. I have not had a problem since. I know this is long and that is why I numbered the process but it is worth it to me to post this because I could not believe the lack of sensitivity and rude behavior that Citrus Valley Eye care in Covina had. They were in the wrong and refused to do anything to fix the situation. This may or may not happen to you and obviously may not have been the readers experience if that is where you go for eye care but I have to tell you, the prescription added to the vertigo I have been challenged with and made my vacation hard to enjoy. You can try them if you want but, I would not take the chance of getting my vision prescription wrong not do I believe they deserve the business. I had to put a star on this review so I only put one but if I could, I would not have given them even one. Very disappointed. read more

I took my mother here to see Dr Yin. She received excellent service from all the staff. Albany was super sweet and professional. So was the girl at the front desk. I was charged to do a eye procedure when the dr already knew with out telling me that doing the procedure to early in the stages it would not go away I was charged and now the problem is still there and when I go back they want to charge me again now as a Dr she knows it wasn't going to go away by doing the procedure early and just wanted money and now the my eye issue continues and they just want more money every time I walk in very unprofessional. I have been a patient of Dr. Surti for over 5 years. My husband, both my parents & my co-worker's mother are all her patients as well, she takes such great care of all of us! I can say without any hesitation that Dr. Surti is a ROCK-STAR in her field. She has over 14 years of experience, and she even lectures to newly graduated doctors of ophthalmology. Every time I have been in her office for a consultation, Dr. Surti has sat down with me, taking her time to listen to my concerns on every visit and thoroughly & patiently explains the situation at hand. All the while making me feel at ease with her sweet personality. Her office is updated & modern. The equipment used is top-notch & state of the art. Her office staff has always been kind and incredibly friendly to me as well as my family. In response to "AJ's" review, and with all due respect: I have never been to a doctor's appointment where I didn't have to wait a while before being seen. Waiting to see a doctor is simply a fact of life. In addition, if you were to pay attention - most of her staff is Hispanic - therefore using the racism card for your review seems quite ridiculous. Citrus Valley Eyecare is located in Covina - there is a large Hispanic community here. I am Hispanic myself, and on the many times that I've been to Citrus Valley Eyecare, the ladies at the front have been nothing but hospitable & kind. Dr. Surti is absolutely thorough, she explains everything to you, and is definitely a professional... she's simply awesome and the friendliest person you'll ever meet. My parents have been patients of Dr. Surti's for years. She performed surgery on my father's eyes for glaucoma and performed surgery on my mother's eyes for cataract. Both parents were extremely pleased with their results and couldn't be happier with Dr. Surti. The staff is very friendly and helpful... especially the staff that prepare you to be seen by Dr. Surti. There's only one issue I have but my parents don't seem to mind and I guess that's all that matters... The waiting time to be called can be up to and at times more than 25-30 minutes. I've been to this doctors office a few times for my eye condition. Most of the staff is rude and they have an I don't care attitude. They schedule you for a certain time and you have wait a minimum of 30 to 40 mins to be taken to the back office. Once you are in the back you wait another 10-15 minutes. If you don't mind waiting and don't have anything else to do, by all means go to this office. Dr . Surti is very nice and has a good personality, it's a shame that her staff is rude and the scheduling department overbooks. I don't know if I was made to wait and treated in a poor manner because I am Hispanic and its obvious I won't be returning. read more

I had a scratched eye that just wasn't healing, and since I was tired of the pain I searched for ophthalmologists who take my insurance, which is how I found Dr. Surti. Her staff is very friendly, they understand that eye pain is PAINFUL, and got me in within a few hours of my call although I was a new patient. The exam was thorough and, although the office was fairly busy, also quick in that they didn't keep me waiting for long. I will definitely recommend Dr. Surti to family and friends. To enemies and those to whom I am merely indifferent, I will recommend the ophthalmologist who wouldn't give me an appointment until after March 26th although I mentioned the words "pain" and "please" several times. read more

When it came to choose lenses I was given some great options. I opted for digital lenses which are amazing. The optician picked a great pair of glasses, which I have received plenty of compliments on. Best of all, no one can tell that I am wearing bi-focals. My mom started suffering from dry eyes. She went to a handful of doctors, yet they all failed to treat her well. We found Dr. Surti's office and we said to give it one last shot. Let me tell you, my mom refuses to go to any other Eye Doctor after being seen by Dr. Surti. She knew how to pin-point my mom's problem and gave her the necessary attention/medication to help her situation. I even was seen by Dr. Surti few times for couple of issues I had. She is by far THE sweetest doctor we've ever come across. She polity listens to your issues, as well as patiently explaining what you may have and how to treat it. Not to mention. the girls in the front and the back are just sweet and friendly. I just wish she were a family practitioner. I would've been a happy camper seeing her for other general medical issues. (Some doctors these days are just not so hospitable.) i'm a 69-year-old senior was recommended to them to remove a film from my eye so I went had the work done started failing right away very expensive I'm on Medicare I got the bill ask them if they would work with me on it because I didn't have the money. They would not. At the same time I was in for a check up that day that continually harassed me to come in on. I assumed they were an ethical doctor and wanted to see why my eyes weren't doing as well as when I got it done. But due to the fact I was asking for a discount on the bill I had would've been the perfect time to tell me you're getting another bill. They did not inquire if I had more insurance they did not make it seem like you were paying anything and then you get a bill in the mail for even more money. When you try to resolve it they just tell you no. Not only did the work not hold but they're very unethical and take it advantage of the seniors in the minority they deal with. When i was a teen my opthamologist caught a problem i had which needed to be kept up with. As i gogot older I had been to quite a few opthamologist but not one caught the problem even when I explained what it was... I was told there were no problems. These were all supposed great doctors including an opthamologist school. 20 years I go see Dr. Surti and bam!!!! She finds it on her own!!!! I am beyond impressed with her and all her staff. Dr. Surti performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes and I could not be happier. Because I had RK surgery on my eyes 20+ years ago I was very concerned about another surgery and how successful it might be. Everyone in the office couldn't be more helpful and kind, patiently answering questions that I know I must have asked numerous times. My vision had become very cloudy even with glasses and I was just hoping for clearer vision after surgery. I was completely astounded to find that the lenses would have a prescription in them and I can now see at a distance without glasses and need minimal reading glasses! Dr. Surti opened my eyes to a brand new world of color and clarity. I did not realize how bad cataracts in both my eyes had become until surgery replaced my old discolored lenses with new prescription lenses implanted in my eyes. These permanent lenses made remarkable improvements in the way I see the world. Blue skies, green trees, and everything in focus exceeded my expectations.
