Great care, quality employees, took only 30 minutes of my day. Will be back for a follow up.

Literally the worst experience I've had. As a new patient i was excited to start a relationship…read morewith this doctor. I texted to confirm my appointment - then 1 hour before i called the office to confirm again. At all times my appt was confirmed. I traveled 25 min and I showed up 15 min before to ensure my paperwork as a new patient was submitted which it was. I then sat and waited til 3:30. I was the only person in the waiting room for a majority of the time. I finally went up and asked if Dr Carlos was ready to see me - the receptionist said she would check. 5 min later she came out and said it would be another hour! How rude- how unprofessional, and the receptionist had 0 remorse as if she has had experience doing this to other patients before. Would not recommend anyone go to this doctor. They don't care about your time.

Unfortunately, this place is no longer what it once was. Primary reason for that is Dr Kauffman no…read morelonger practices there or anywhere (NAPC says he's on "permanent administrative leave". Which I interpret as "forced retirement".) So you're left with a dysfunctional front staff, a name change/buy out (it's now called SE Medical Group), extreme billing mistakes and over charges, lack of coordination and zero organization and 1 doctor (Pray) who really could care less about you - perhaps part of that perception is overworked - and a NP, Anna (whom I've never seen). As painful as a search for a good doctor is, I can save you the trouble on trying this one. Things change, I get that. But the specialness is now gone unfortunately.

I was a patient at this practice for about 8 years. I'll preface by saying for the most part, my…read moremedical care and the medical staff were good. However, the front office staff and office policies have not been a good experience. I recently moved out of state and attempted to access my records via the patient portal and could not access them. Per an email request, I received a phone call saying I could complete a form for my new physician (I've already done this) and if I wanted my records I could PAY A FEE for them to be provided via CD. I have two overwhelming concerns: 1) I and/or my insurance company have paid through the nose for medical care for the past 8 years; and 2) who uses CDs anymore-- new computers don't come with a CD drive! What century are you in? Everything is cloud-based now and precisely why I should be able to access my records via the portal. As an example, I can access my Emory and Mayo Clinic records today (some are over 2 decades old and others over a decade old). This is a terrible business practice and nothing but a MONEY MAKER for this practice. I'm hugely disappointed in this nonsensical practice. And, I would also be concerned about a medical office SNAIL MAILING private, medical records. Isn't this a HIPAA privacy concern?

This practice has a lot of great reviews and I want to share my experience in case it helps…read moresomeone. In January 2025 I made an appointment for the earliest new patient appointment, which was in June 2025. I decided to wait for the appointment because I really appreciated the philosophy found on the website and definitely liked the glowing reviews. I had positive interactions with all staff I encountered and the clinic was clean and bright. The provider I met with suspected a new problem/diagnosis and so started a work up with labs and imaging. Clinic staff did follow up with me once labs resulted out and referred me to a specialist. The ordered imaging was performed ~2 weeks after my new patient appt but I never received follow up, from the NP or anyone else at Ponce Primary Care re: the imaging results. It has now been ~3 months since my last communication, specific to my care, with anyone in this office. I decided to reach out to discuss the standard of care, which I felt to be lacking. Dr. Chad Costley did return my call within an hour or so and he did verbalize disappointment with my situation. He assured me that my experience is unfortunately the exception to their typical patient experience. I was informed that the NP I had been assigned to was "only part-time and here less than a month". I did not ever receive any communication from Ponce Primary Care to notify me that my assigned provider was departing or to invite me to call to schedule with another provider for seamless continuity of care. I was told that my imaging results were never sent by the imaging facility I went to and that "this is where the wheels came off". That is absolutely possible but it was also not confirmed to be true at the time of the statement. The report not being in the patient chart does not mean it was never received by the ordering office or sent to the ordering provider. Sometimes things get scanned and assigned incorrectly, or not scanned at all. Lots of possibilities there. To me, that shows a lack of accountability for not holding a supervisory review of a departing provider's caseload/EMR task list and it also fails to consider that an out-of-state fax number associated with the ordering provider could be the problem. I waited 6 months for a new patient appointment and, whatever the circumstances, was lost in the shuffle. I will not be continuing with this practice, although I'm sure they have many satisfied patients as evidenced by their overall rating. My advice if you wish to establish/continue care here: Be able to advocate for yourself and for your own healthcare. Be knowledgeable about when to follow up on your care in case the practice doesn't. If the wait is still 6 months out for a new patient appointment when you try to schedule, do not think an extra special or VIP experience awaits you - realize that they just might be too busy to accept new patients.

I've never encountered another physician who really takes the time to listen and engage with us like Dr Rubin does. She's extremely compassionate, caring and competent. She has referred us to several specialists along the way and we have been happy with each of those. She helped us through an episode of depression with my son, and issues with my visiting mother who's health concerns were complicated by dementia. Young or old you feel like you are the only person that matters when you are with her during and after an exam.

I started seeing her years ago at Kennesaw Family Physicians. It's purely by luck that I found her. She recently split from them and formed WellStar Family Medicine as an independent practitioner. Her new office is small, seemingly by design, and personally, I LOVE it! I hate to feel like I am being shuffled about through office staff, nurses, and a doctor who only has 5 minutes to see me. All of the staff I encountered here are very friendly, courteous and seem to enjoy their work. It's so refreshing when people are genuinely friendly and caring, especially in the medical field when you're one in thousands. Her new office has all the latest equipment and technology (PCs in the exam rooms and no paper charts!). I have always found Dr. Rubin to be extremely friendly and personable, as well as knowledgable. She is a fantastic listener, and is never dismissive of any of my health concerns. I sincerely hope her new practice is a success, as I can't see myself going anywhere else.
