My friend who's a beginner at golfer said he wanted to go to a course but the only times he can go is after work. Luckily I found out this course has lights when it gets dark so we can play later in the day! Par 62 course - the greens have a bunch of divots and bumps, a lot of the tee boxes are pretty dirty (maybe have some sand in the carts or sand at each tee box so people can fill divots), fairways are next to each other so keep your head on a swivel, I feel like pace of play could have been better (there was a group of older men playing each hole at the back end of the tee box in front of us when they couldn't hit the ball well). We started at 3:45pm and ended around 7:10pm for $40 each. You can't find much courses to play at night in OC - so I can't complain!

David L bakery golf course is the best golf course in OC. Good prices good vibes good times. Literally a diamond in the rough. Hit my second birdie here. awesome.

This is a very fun small course for beginners, or someone who wants to work on their short game. The greens were very nice and fast, but the tee boxes were kind of beat up a little bit. The pace of play was about four hours, so we got held up a little bit for such a small course. The food and drinks were really good, and they offer a really cool members program. The service in the pro shop was nice and quick! I'm not sure of the cost of the round because my buddy purchased it, but he said it was a good price. It also had lights on the course so I believe you can play at night, so I will definitely come back for that.

$46 for a Sunday round on an executive course with no cart is just too pricey, especially given the condition of the place. The driving range is a joke. They may as well put in astroturf since it's mostly dirt with tiny patches of actual grass. The sand traps are rock hard. The tee box placement is all over the board. The greens are filled with ball marks. The fairways are green enough and the surface of the greens are all right but no one repairs their ball marks and, clearly, there is not enough staff to do each day. Very slow play, no marshal to be found. I'd much rather play Newport Beach for half the price or hit a full par 72 course for that money.

First hole at 6:22 tee time.

It's been a while since I've played and for two reasons. They have drastically increased the price and the field was in need to maintenance. I recently played again for $38 online deal which is still high relative to other courses which offer better pricing and much better courses. The last time I played was at night and it was not a good experience. There was not enough lighting making it very difficult to play even with glow in the dark balls. On this day, and they have made upgrades, but the course was so lit. Not only the greens but the whole fairway. The course was well maintained, green and not brown. This is an easy and quick course to play if you just want to get a few hours of play before work. If they continue with their upkeep and possibly lower the price a bit, I'll be back.

Does this course allow five somes?

typically, fivesomes aren't allowed to ensure the pace of play doesn't suffer. but feel free to give them a call to see if there's a time late in the day where they could make it work.

Hello, do you guys have a rental clubs for women? I am 5 ft tall and do not have clubs yet. If I can rent, how much does it cost?

So unfortunately, they do not have ladies' specific rental sets. The rental sets are "mixed bags," so you may see a Cleveland sand wedge, a Titleist PW, and a cobra 9-iron. The clubs are decent but mixed. They halted their rental set agreement with… Read more

He was very quick to respond to my suggestions and tell me what's possible and what wasn't and provide a quote for his services. For what I wanted to get done it seemed most cost effective to do laser engraving versus stamping per letter ($10/First Letter, $7/Each Additional Letter, Up to 15 Letters, or $30/Laser Engraving Spot). Gave him a picture of what I wanted along with an SVG file of Doodlebob and about 2 weeks later, I got a call from him that it was ready for pickup. The lines are crisp and I appreciated all the extra work he did to get the vision of what I wanted on the club. Definitely the place to go to customize your wedges if you need a custom logo or if the manufacturer of the wedge you want doesn't allow for many letters (lookin' at you Mizuno) or any letters at all (Miura).

After trying a few clubs we determined to purchase a driver and a couple of fairway woods. We started discussing irons and Steve suggested that we wait to order those. He sent me to get a few lessons with a great PGA instructor and to work on my stance and swing. He shared with me to come back after those lessons and then we could figure out the "proper clubs" for me once I was able work on re-learning a proper stance. 6 weeks later I returned to the shop and we determined the correct clubs, shafts and hozzle angle to complete my set. When completed, I not only had a new set up clubs but improved my handicap by 8 strokes. Since that time I have moved out of state however I just ordered two additional clubs that Steve will be ordering and have mailed to me 1,800 miles away from the shop. I've never met a more knowledgeable golf fitter that puts his customer's satisfaction as his first priority. You won't go wrong working with Steve at the Newport Beach Golf Shop, I have sent others there and they had a similar experience.

I don't have the same time I had in my 20s to devote to the game, so finding quality instruction and practice was key to maximizing the time I did have. I honestly had never heard of Golftec because I've been living under a rock since stepping away from golf, but they were close by, and figured I'd give them a shot. Immediately loved the vibe and access to quality tech and information. First assessment I felt like I was where I needed to be. I felt like I was going to truly transform my game because we were talking the same language and I knew I couldn't do this on my own. I worked with Coach Matt for over 10 lessons and couldn't be happier. We got a lot done in not much time. I got to a single-digit handicap really quickly in my first year back and I wound up flushing so many more shots than I ever did when I was playing a lot of golf in my more athletic days. That was the validation I needed. I may not be able to swing as fast as I used to, but even with that, the scores started dropping, and the quality of shots I was hitting was another level up, even from when I played my best at a 5 handicap at 25. Beyond that though, I have so much more knowledge of where my problems lie. Like most people, I can't bring my swing coach with me on the course every time I play, so when things go sideways, I need to be able to assess and remedy the issues on my own, and I'm thrilled to say I have far more awareness of my swing and the ways to get it back on track thanks to Matt. I'm currently moving to the Bay area now, so I had to stop lessons, but I couldn't praise my experience there enough. The facility is great, the tech is fantastic, but more than that is my one-on-one with Coach Matt. As someone who doesn't love traditional 90-minute lessons because I feel like it's just a lot of standing around talking, I opted for more sessions at 30-minute lengths, which was perfect for the way I like to work. We were able to maximize each lesson with quick, concise, and straightforward remedies for me to work on. I never left any lesson feeling rushed, rather I just felt like the process was simplified to the essentials. We didn't have time to overload each session with all the things wrong with my swing. We identified the 1 or 2 primary issues that stood out, discussed why it's happening and what other chain reaction it might be causing, and then we got to work and started grooving the swing change or putting change. I would generally spend 2-3 weeks just working on those small changes on my own, before coming back in to assess the next step. On top of that, I purchased a holiday package that included club fitting, and it was added insurance to know that the person fitting me wasn't seeing my swing for the very first time that day. I would argue, that nobody on the planet is more familiar with my swing strengths and swing flaws, than Coach Matt. That is a huge benefit to have a fitting from your coach! All in all, my experience was fantastic. I'm sad to leave Southern California and access to this Golftec and coach Matt, but such is life. Thrilled to have had them all in my journey and getting me on the path of better golf.
