Replaced and upgraded the outlet in the laundry room 2.) Changed the wiring and removed the ballasts to the overhead fluorescent lighting in the carport and kitchen that had been flickering or non-functional 3.) Installed a new outlet in the main bedroom up high on the wall so that the wall-mounted TV could be plugged in without having to have the power cord run down the wall. With each project, David analyzed the situation very carefully and was able to come up with a perfect solution that always considered safety and cost-efficiency. We also had him check the GFCI connections in the bathroom and kitchen and also take a look at the outside panel because we had some safety concerns. Our electricity was out in our upstairs master bedroom. We thought it might be due to rats that had gotten into a wall near the circuit panel. When they were gone, we called a couple of other companies who said they could put us on their list for a month later. They didn't want to come out & diagnose, but bring both the electrician and an apprentice. Total cost $200. an hour. After looking at Yelp, we called David Bertsch. He answered the phone(in the evening) and asked if it could wait til the next day! He would have come right out if we needed him then. The next day, he called to say that he was ahead of schedule and would it be ok if he can early. He arrived on time, a very pleasant man. He almost immediately found the problem (not due to chewed wiring), fixed it, found the GFI switch we needed reset in the garage and even replaced the burned out lightbulbs in the high up stairwell for us. He was here an hour, charged us $80. and we paid him $100. We consider him a miracle worker and he will be our go to electrician from now on! read more

I called him at about 1:30 told him my problem. He had me text him a picture of my panel. He got the picture while we were on the phone. Told me he was very familiar with my type on panel. My wife and I first met David Bertsch about 20 years ago, when he served as the electrical subcontractor for a pool that we put in. He has continued to help us with pool-related electrical work from time to time, including a new control panel that he installed for us a few years ago. In addition, he has done a number of other electrical jobs for us, such as installing a whole-house fan, a chandelier, kitchen lights, and lights on the front and back sides of our house. David is an excellent electrician. He thinks about what he's going to do before plunging ahead, and he's very careful to avoid damaging walls etc. Today I asked him to install two 3-way switches on the opposite sides of my garage, so that the main garage light could be operated from either entrance. I had assumed that he would simply run new conduit across the garage, but instead he found a way to make this work by snaking wires between 6 different existing electric boxes, using existing conduit. Some of these boxes were hidden inside cabinets, and this was a highly complex job, requiring a lot of thought and patience. Although I believed he could do it, I was delighted to see that, when he finally turned the power back on, the two switches worked perfectly the first time! David is a warm, trust-worthy human being, and his prices are very fair. We recommend him highly. read more
