She was very price sensitive when it came to sourcing the new lights and gave me options of prices, which was so helpful! If I have a budget that I just cannot go over, there really is no extra cash available. Vivian was very keen on making what we had work and able to find very good deals on what we did purchase. I really enjoyed working with her and she also offered very good contractors whose rates were right on par with current contractor prices. It was wonderful working with Vivian and I recommend her to anyone doing home or business interiors.

Let me begin by saying that Ryan and his crew are extremely trustworthy and professional. I am an…read morearchitect and well-versed in air sealing, but I did not have personal experience with removing old fiberglass batt insulation and installing only two inches of closed-cell insulation. In our 1868 Victorian home, Ryan and his crew removed all of the old fiberglass insulation from remodels we'd done over the years and installed closed-cell insulation in the attic ceilings and floor. I'll admit that when I saw the large amounts of old insulation being removed, I seriously wondered if I had made the right decision. Rather than jumping to conclusions, I waited until I could compare our December 2024 PG&E gas bill with our December 2025 bill. Since we heat our home with a gas furnace, my focus was on gas usage rather than electricity. In December 2024, our house was cold--uncomfortably so. The furnace cycled on and off constantly throughout the day, and we experienced significant temperature swings. The old insulation simply could not hold heat. Fast forward to December 2025. While our gas usage in therms was similar, the outcome could not have been more different. Our home is now warm and comfortable. We keep the thermostat at about 72 degrees during the day, and at night we set it to 62--yet the temperature holds steady around 66 degrees all night. In other words, the heater doesn't even come on after we go to bed. The result is a dramatically more comfortable home with no increase in gas usage. I expected our December 2025 bill to be through the roof, but instead it remained essentially the same--with vastly better performance and comfort. I couldn't be happier with the results. I'm so glad I put my trust in Ryan. We finally have a warm home during the coldest month of the year, and going forward we will be using less therms per month.

Unfortunately, it was off color and looks bad next to the kitchen cabinets that were to be matched. Probably after 9 months not checking here at the house he forgot the color. Not happy at all with the results. The cabinets look more like for a dental office, rather than a kitchen. On a positive note, his installer, Michael, was super terrific, spending the time to make sure everything was perfect.

Fisher Electric owner Mike Fisher installs any electrical for your home. Including changing out the main panel. Mike is a well-known and respected person in the local community. He does excellent work, a good communicator, and is one of those old-school type electricians that is a perfectionist wanting to get the job done right the first time. My story with Mike.. When I first moved into my new place in Salinas, I wanted to do recessed lighting for the living room. Mike had all the stuff on hand already and did a masterful job beforehand explaining how recessed lighting works, figuring optimum placement of the cans, and going over different control units with me. He also looked at our existing lighting in the kitchen and gave tips for improving illumination of our work surfaces, sink, and stove areas. Mike seems familiar with different wiring systems common throughout the bay area and provided tips on ways to save energy and (since my house was built in the 1960s) gave me some ideas how to improve our stuff. What does this guy not know? He knows about exterior lighting, interior lighting, cans, stereos, speakers, projector screens, satellite and cable TV, everything electrical! My dad is a class A commercial electrician, so it is very hard to impress me, but Mike certainly knows his stuff. As with most electrical contractors, Fisher Electric is a family owned business that he operates from his home. What else? Well, Mike has been serving both commercial/industrial and residential customers for quite some time (like the 1980's I think). Their phone number, 831-430 9694. Every time I call him he either picks up right away or calls me back in the next few minutes, which is a huge relief dealing with contractors of any sort. 5 stars for Mike, he certainly has earned my repeat business and he'll be the first person I call if I ever need anything electrical done. I should mention his rates are very competitive and, he uses top quality stuff. read more

Thanks Mike...... We have weird house of electrical wiring. We've had other electricians in to address specific problems we experienced (all did acceptable work), and have received advice from them to obtain another line from PG&E, install a larger box, rewire the converted barn on our property - some big ticket items. Our electric bill seems wildly high already, and we'd like to move toward solar. We decided to have all of our electrical wiring inspected to have a consolidated list of the issues to be addressed in order to prioritize work that's needed. Called Fisher Electric, based on Yelp reviews. WOW! He is fantastic. Ultra responsive, down to earth, ethical, knowledgeable, and efficient. He was great at dispelling some of the potentially very costly advice others had given, backing it up with practical information and experience. Mike is VERY easy to work with and is flexible. He did an initial review, and we set up a follow up appointment for a full inspection and some work for the more critical areas we wanted handled. His crew showed up right on time this morning. They were professional, friendly, hard-working, knowledgeable, clean, and highly efficient. They had all the tools and components they needed, and were thorough in their inspection and assessment. They plowed through a mesmerizing amount of work, replacing failed outlets, running new wire, testing, and fixing issues as they went. Fisher Electric is not a reputable business. We had them replace the main electrical panel at our house. They were supposed to pull permits on the job. They never pulled permits on the job which turned they were red tagged by the county of Santa Cruz due to the fact that they were red tagged by the county we were without power for five days. We were hooked up to a small generator that we own not provided by them And that allowed us some power throughout the house but not everything we still had to go to the laundromat in order to do our clothes because the dryer was 220 V we had no refrigerator like I said all our food went bad. Eventually the refrigerator went bad because the power being turned on and off so many times, they left the permit open for us to go down and finally get the final signed off which we still don't know as of yet whether it will get signed off because of the fact that they were supposed to have PG&E disconnect from the pole and PG&E reconnect they did neither. So now the permit is in limbo, because of the fact that they did not have PG&E do the work that was needed to be done for the permitting process like I said do not hire Fisher Electric they are scammers fast talkers and they are high priced. They are not accompanied that you would like or recommend to anybody that you know after they have left your premises. They are shady peopleand for them to tell the homeowner to go finish up the permit process is ridiculous. Thank you for reading this. read more

Mike Fisher and his team did an outstanding job installing a 3KW solar system on our house in September 2013. We asked them to expand the system to 6KW in November 2014 and add an 80 amp Tesla charger for us. For the first 3KW system I knew very little about solar. Mike explained the options and pros and cons e.g. solar panel size and output, inverters, power optimizers, partial shade options, and other features. Mike did not push any prepackage solution but instead sized the systems to our requirements. Mike's team did everything from pulling the building permit, acquiring and delivering the parts, installing the rails, panels, and inverter, and scheduling the inspections. Their work was very neat and good looking. The systems passed inspection on the first try with no go backs. They stayed on schedule with a great price / performance ratio. Mike and his team also installed an Ethernet cable from the SolarEdge inverter to our computer. They worked with SolarEdge to get the web based system working. This web page allows us to track the daily power production of the panels in real time on our browser. It is very interesting watching the natural variations in output due to weather and day length differences from summer to winter. We highly recommend Fisher Electric for solar power and electrical work for any phase of the job from pre-purchase discussions to acquisition and installation. They are true solar power experts and great electricians. read more

I wanted to share my extremely positive experience with Mike Fisher and his crew. I first encountered Mike when visiting a property where he had installed a solar system for a client of mine. I was immediately impressed by his knowledge and expertise, as well as his calm, personable demeanor. It was evident that he genuinely enjoys his work. My wife and I had been considering solar for some time, and with the 2025 tax credit approaching its sunset, I decided to contact Mike. He promptly came out the very next day and thoroughly guided me through the entire process, including the number of panels and powerwalls needed, and the overall installation process. I received a comprehensive bid the following day, and after confirming the tax credit applicability with my CPA, I accepted his proposal. Mike efficiently scheduled the installation, and his team impressively completed the entire system in just two days and made sure to clean up after each day's worth of work. After the installation, Mike personally assisted me in linking the Powerwall to my Tesla account and walked me through the app's features and key metrics. He answered any questions I had and that was comforting. This was the second project I asked Mike to do. The first was a simple bathroom fan upgrade. He was the first and only electrician I called for this second job. This project was installing exterior halogen heaters to my deck and involved some serious problem-solving. Mike explains the ideal objective and then all the caveats that may hinder the outcome. He always gave me choices along the way. I am happy to report that this project went completely to his and my highest hope. The work was done efficiently and included clean-up. While I don't recommend a verbal contract, he had given me a ballpark bid verbally; final cost was $400 LESS than I was expecting. And Mike was flexible to my schedule as well. This I appreciated, too, since I had to drive from Santa Clara to Capitola on a weekday. I find it very hard to believe Steve J, Pearl W, and George G. Again, Mike EXPLAINS everything; one must be prepared to have glitches requiring a new approach. If you don't remember what the scope of the work entails, maybe you need to have it all written down before the work commences! I will definitely call on Mike, and recommend him to the other condo owners who want the deck heaters installed. Highest rating is rightly deserved. read more

Very clean, Honest, and Trust Worthy... We needed our electric panel replaced as well as some other small electrical work done and received 3 quotes for the work. Not only was Fisher Electric the most competitive, but they also were the most educational during the quoting process. Rather than just tell me how much each project would cost, he spent the time to tell me my options, why it's important, what the work would involve and helped to avoid unnecessary costs. The electricians that came to do the work were timely, polite, and left the place very clean. They kept me informed of their progress throughout the day and did an excellent job--everything passed the city's inspection as well without any problems. A little over a month ago I needed an emergency repair to get power to my outdoor irrigation system. I phoned Fisher Electric before the business opened and Mike, the owner, took my call even though it was a very early hour. Within a day Mike's son Johnathan and James were on the job working to solve the problem and after replacing corrupted breakers and a relay my plants were able to get watered again. What a Blessing! Today Mike came out because my system appeared to have lost power again. It hadn't. Mike spent a lot of time isolating the problem and he found my ancient controller was at fault. Given his stellar Yelp reviews, I called Mike and was very impressed with his professionalism, reassurance, and willingness to work around our time. He arrived exactly at 10am as agreed and proceeded to diagnose and fix the problem within 15 minutes. During this time, he proved to be both professional and congenial. He also checked into two other electrical concerns we had. Owning an older home, we've had several tradesmen work with us over the years and are very impressed with Mike most of all. I am very impressed with Fisher Electric. I recently had some electrical work done along with a TV and data line I needed installed. Mike (the owner) answered my call and was professional and very personable. He prioritized my project even though he had a full slate, and made a house call within 24 hours. Where do I start? These people really know what they are doing. There on time and their prices are fair. Mike and his crew are trustworthy and honest and very clean. Most of all, they respect my home and treated it with care. Situation: I need 3 ceiling fans installed and got prices from 2 companies. Fisher electric was about 10% less. I'm not one to go for the lowest price however I have them a shot. They came in, ran wiring, and installed the fans. They showed me how each controller works cleaned up and even Vacuum to floor. I had purchased a Level 2 electric car charging station, and called Fisher Electric to install it. Mike was gracious enough to promptly return my voice message with a text message, and then his crew followed up with a call to clarify the work I needed. Especially surprising and appreciated was his ability to scheduled an appointment for the work within a few days of our conversation (which is a rarity with other electricians I have dealt with). Having lots of experience with this type of installation, Jonathan was sent to do the work. He explained the installation, listened to my requests, and completed the work within a few hours. GREAT JOB !!! Fisher Electric helped our family in a recent solar project, running a new circuit from inside the house to outdoor equipment on the roof. We are really pleased with the work he's done which included a difficult routing problem through the attic. Our exterior circuit looks very professional: wires are all cleanly routed and the conduit is carefully bent to follow the roofline. The project lasted 1 week, and working with Mike was great. He would always call before stopping by, and we could reach him by email or phone whenever questions came up. Mike did an excellent job for us, his prices were reasonable, and we'd go with him again. Had another problem with my electrical and call Mike Fisher of Fisher Electric again. This is by far the best experience I have ever had with an electrical Company. I had a circuit breaker issue.. etc etc etc... I called Fisher Electric at 10AM, talked with Mike who said he could get someone out to my house before Noon. I was so happy to hear the turn around time. Thirty minutes later, my doorbell rings. I mean WOW! The electrician immediately got to work. Mike was awesome, friendly, and knowledgeable. Mike at Fisher Electric showed up promptly at our rental house in San Jose on 3/1/2019; they were called in at the last minute as a replacement when the original contractor dispatched the day before could not assess or fix the non-operating bathroom fan problem. He was able to assess the problem fairly quickly, faulty switch because the electrical wire became disconnected. He rewired the switch and the tenant was able to have a full functioning bathroom/light again after a week of problems. The co-owner that met Mike said he was very professional and provided very good customer service. We would highly recommend Fisher Electric for electrical issues. read more

I can not believe the wonderful service I got from Fisher Electric, They are a step above when it comes to service. I called them and 2 other companies to give me a price to rewire my house and upgrade my main panel. Mike came out and assured me that they can do the best job for me. They also said they backed up all their work with a 5 year guarantee. I awarded them the job. They showed up when they said, did the work as per contract, and they even cleaned up every day before they left the job. I am very happy I choose Fisher Electric to do the work. Honest and Reliable ! Mike was a godsend when we moved to Watsonville. We had outdated heaters and track lighting that needed to be removed and the wall needed to be patched. A couple weeks later we realized that our hallway lights weren't functioning. A while later we had new bathroom vent/lights/heaters installed. He took care of everything promptly and effectively. He is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He is very honest and reliable. The people who work with him are the exact same way. The theme here is going be The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. The good: the guy who evaluated the job was professional and friendly, and then the guy leading the two-man actual work fairly reeked of competence. They did a fantastic, clean-looking job (though they did leave screws and various detritus laying around the area, as almost everyone seems to do these days. No one cleans up conscientiously any more). I'm 100% satisfied with the quality of the new, up-to-date main panel. The bad. I had this work done when I was off on vacation in Baja. As I always do, and have done for a dozen years, I drained my portable electric-run hot tub before leaving. This time, however, I though, "why not use this handy switch on my brand new panel instead of unplugging it?" BIG MISTAKE. While I was on vacation, one of the electricians came over to photograph the panel for the inspectors, and clearly he turned on all the switches, and left them on -- completely frying my hot tub pump for about 2K in damages. I discovered this when I got home. "What -- is that thing on? WTH!!!" The ugly. Though at first apologetic, the company became a bit confrontation and doubted my story. Yeah, sorry -- I've drained and deactivated that tub 20 times and never left it on. The dude turned it on while I was gone via the panel switch, and ruined it. Eventually they agreed to pay for a refurbished pump for about 1.2K, which seemed fair enough. HOWEVER, lo and behold, on inspection they found some oddities in the lower well pump switch that just HAPPENED to amount to the cost of the pump. Strange coincidence! They made the mistake of sending a contractor to do this extra work, and the guys eyes popped out when I told him what I was paying for the job. I don't want to get him in trouble, but he told me the work was probably worth more like 2-300. "Could've been better" is a perfect description of this overall experience. I have a top quality main panel. But I vastly overpaid for it, lacked my lovely hot tub for a month, and dealt with a bunch of unpleasant communications to try and get just compensation (which, as I note, got absorbed into the high fees).
