Overall we satisfied with the results. The reason for the 2 stars was: Bad communication - leading up to the date of the work commencing, I attempted to make contact to see if we needed to do prep work (remove counter items, items on wall, if we could come back to the house every night, etc) it took two days for the owner to call me back. Workers Prep work - after speaking to several companies that do this type of work. The workers should cover everything before grinding the concrete, including the walls. Well these guys only half butt covered the items on the wall, most of the cupboard and my tv. So now when it's all done, we have to continually wash the walls to get the dust off of them. Finally, they left a mess. Did not remove all the tape and plastic is some areas, left way too many holes in the concrete from the carpet tack strips and again the dust. I will be cleaning for the next month. I would say the price was reasonable and the owner is only minimally involved. The worker did some other work for me that was just okay. They don't have the pride for the craft so everything was done half quality. I would recommend the company if you're ok with doing a lot of the overall finishing work yourself (cleanup mainly) The only thing I would recommend is the grinding of the concrete by this company. I am the manager for The Colony Mobilehome Park in Calimesa, California. We had a fly-by-night company come out and color our pool deck using two high school boys. Five days later the paint started blistering and cracking and flaking, blowing all over the place. The two boys who did the work told me that they had been out drinking the previous night and were a little under the weather (Serves them right). Suffice it to say, they were terrible!! But then we found David Paul Foster. This gentleman has a crew of very efficient workers that know what they're doing! They showed up at 6am with a covered trailer full of all the equipment they would need for a job that took five working days. They arrived every morning before 7am ready to work! After they covered the pool, It took them a full day to get all the cracked and peeling paint off the pool deck, but they did a great job! They then filled all the cracks and holes in the pool and spa area. The next day they ground them down so it was all even. They added the primer with some sort of sand-like substance. They then put texture to it and finally on the last day, they put on the paint. It only took them a week and our pool and spa have never looked this good as long as I have been here! David completed a pool deck and driveway project for me a few months back, and it was a nightmare. The job was bid out reasonably, but David NEVER advised me that I would need to have a regular cleaning of both decks. The actual rep of the coating company had to advise us of that when he came out to look at the decks due to staining. The rep was even shocked that David did not advise us. I initially called David after the job was completed about some cracking and paint coming off after a month. He corrected the problem, but his attitude and unprofessionalism was through the roof. Quote, "I don't like to be married to my jobs, I get in, get paid, and get out!" David was also extremely rude to my wife when she had to meet David and the company rep of the paint coating at our house. Overall honestly, I think this guy is way over due to retire due to his poor attitude toward his customers who are paying him good money. Find another company, there are plenty out there that are hungry for work, obviously not this company. read more

We used David Foster to re-do our concrete overlay. He told us he would be able to match the existing overlay and would reseal all of it. The work did NOT come even close to matching and it had several areas that were very sloppy. We contacted him to let him know we were not satisfied and he said he would come by and take a look at it. He never did. I also sent him an email with pictures. No response. A year later and it's even worse. It is discoloring and the coating is coming off in several areas. A few years ago I had David Paul Foster apply a two color coating to my patio, walks, pool deck and even the pool coping. They did an excellent! Job. It was time to have it cleaned, and resealed. I emailed David and he got back to me right away, gave me a quote and the job was done in less than two weeks. They pressure washed, scrubbed the surface, touched up some spots with excellent color matching and resealed. An excellent job and it looked brand new again. We were extremely pleased and expect to have them do the front porch and steps in a few weeks. read more

Do yourself a favor and find another Epoxy company, this guy will take advantage of you. BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!! This company has provided me the worst experience I could have ever imagined. From poor quality of service and then threatening emails and putting lean on home. I first contacted mr foster for epoxy flooring for a quote in July 2021. he cam to my home measured and provided me with a quote in a timely manner. I expressed to him I wanted a showroom quality floor... the kind you see in a Lamborghini dealership or really nice garage... he iterated that in order to get this level of results I needed to get metallic epoxy coating, which is double the price of flake or shake floor in garages. I was looking for a very particular natural look. natural rock , no brush strokes, squeeze ,marks. I couldn't be more specific about my wants and needs as far as the final results. which were simple. make the floor perfectly smooth ( OCD) smooth. and make the epoxy look natural not man made or any debris etc. Ill gladly pay extra... As a Disabled veteran I cannot epoxy my own floor, so I left this job in the hands of so-callled professionals. and I was not only taken advantage of I was also threatened and made to pay for sub-par service Once the project started I never saw DP foster again.. he as the owner was not present at the start of the job. nor was he present at the finish of the project. he send sub contractors in his stead. A very unprofessional way of doing business, especially when the so called project lead was clueless as to what the project entailed other than providing an epoxy floor. he had no idea what colors or any of the countless conversations and details I went over with DP foster. and the finished product shows exactly that. Now fast forward to epoxy day. now ive invested 2 days into communicating my expectations and wants for the finished product. The project manager even showed me previous pictures of finished products and from the 30 plus pics I pointed out the ones I liked and the ones I didn't. we together collaborated on the pictures and my expectations and came to an understanding of what my wants were and what his team could deliver. then 2 days later after the epoxy cures. I notice a ton of debris.. and other imperfections in the final product. brush bristles, nails, staples, and other chunks of debris in the final coat. when I brought this to DP fosters attention he immediately says dust, insects, and other particles may fall into the final product and affect the finish, but he has little control of the insects falling dust and such. however this has nothing to do with what im noticing in my finished product. I cleaned the garage and master bedroom OCD throughly. dust and maybe insects would be completely acceptable, however this is debris from dirty tools or product tracked in from your crew. NO staples or nails or bristles or giant chunks of old epoxy were present in the room it was all a result of poor craftsmenship or attention to detail. when I first contacted DP foster after final coat I asked if this was the final product. his reply was yes the job is finished... I then expressed my dis pleasure with the finished product.. I can see roller marks, pour points, chunks of debris in the epoxy and other flaws I thought I was paying tp dollar to ensure weren't in the final product... over 5k in services, if im paying over 5k I would expect showroom final product and that was simply not delivered. Mr Foster was very unprofessional and combative during our first phone conversation. telling me the job in perfect and that any flaws are from wind insects or falling debris. I again pointed out bristles, nails and staples, plus chunks of old epoxy. he still didn't believe me and wanted to see for himself in person... claiming my pics provided were dirty or not showing the finished product... this attitude completely changed however when he came by. he said and I Quote " I see everything you are unsatisfied with. the pics were accurate, now that im here I see exactly what your saying." I simply was pointing out the debris, the flaws in application , pooling of epoxy at the walls, brush / squeegee / roller marks, and other unnatural looking flaws. My main complaint was. I could have performed this job on my own if I was not disabled, and has a similar outcome with finished product. however I was willing to pay a professional to do the job right VS me do it and have sub satisfactory version compared to a professional. Unfortunately I was wrong, when I broached how to solve the issues im having with the finished product. DP foster left me with only 2 options I either live with the way it is. or redo the whole project and see if the new results meet my expectations. fast FWD, after tons of emails and phone calls about fixing or coming to an agreement about the proper price of project, then I get threatened with lean on house and forced to pay more than the job was worth. he ruined my floors read more

I had a pool deck coating job with Foster Concrete Coating done at my home in Temecula in 2016. David had promised me to be available to do a repair/reapplacation of a new layer at approx 5 years in (at additional cost of course) but I was never able to get him to follow through. It took me 4 months to finally luck out and get him to actually answer his phone. He did come to my house to inspect the existing project but then never came back to me with a new contract. After shopping for alternates I contracted with Clean Krete. They've done a great job and brought Foster's failing job back to life, on time and on the money! read more

I usually dont write reviews but everytime I walk into my kitchen and dinning room I'm super disappointed, especially since it cost me 2k. Communication with the owner is awful. Quality of work is awful. I feel embarrassed for the owner of the company everytime I look at the floor it's so bad. I've had to repaint walls where stain was splashed on them and it took 3 people 9-10 hours to clean when they were done. The part that's the worst, the owner and foreman, after seeing the quality of the work, couldn't even apologize and say, "dang, sorry I made your floor so ugly". Nothing. If you dont like buyers remorse, find someone else. I just hope someone else doesn't have to go through what we've gone through. read more

Garage floor coatings are what they need to stick too. His crew did a great job on the garage. The problem comes in when he refinished our concrete floors inside the house. The tape he used pulled the paint from the base boards. He had to redo the cleaning of the floor in several spots as foot prints could be seen in the flooring Then when they spayed the coloring it was darker than what we picked out and the finish was not high gloss like we requested. We paid anyway as even though it was darker than we wanted and we had to redo the gloss coating ourselves, it looked better than before. The problem came a short time later when spots began to chip up and bare cement could be seen. I messaged the owner Dave and he requested pictures which I sent him and then never got a response. So now we have a floor with chips of color missing that looks terrible. I used to sell painting and epoxy equipment and know if the product chips up in only a small area then the problem is the prep and not a defective material as you would see it in more areas. We have all see. What happens if you paint a dirty wall, it peels. I would have given him a five for the garage export coating but overall he is a one especially for his asking for pictures and then blowing me off. I moved a water fountain off of my front patio because the overspray bleached the deck. I needed to refinish the patio and Dave Foster's crew applied a polymer fiber topcoat which looks beautiful and hides the old surface including the circle left by the fountain. I am not pleased with the quality of work. I agree - setting up the appointment to get an estimate was easy. I just got off the phone with Dave Foster and am displeased with the response to my concern over the two week old cracking concrete. I was told I was given no guarantee on the work against cracking. So I guess the contract that says they warranty work for a year is not really a warranty. I asked him to come to the house to see the work and he said I could snap pictures and send them to see if a visit is warranted. They were eager to do the bid and get the job but not so eager to follow up. I also did not appreciate his demeanor in our conversation. I live on a secure property and the driveway gate is locked. They arrived one time and the gate was locked. I got a call and unlocked it as soon as I was informed that they were waiting. He tried to tell me this happened multiple times. It did not. Maybe if they communicated when they plan to be on the property this would not have happened the one time it did. During my call to Dave he reminded me how I wasted their time that day and how I was insure of the color that was applied. What happened to the customer is always right mentality or being professional enough to at the very least be accommodating and try to make the customer happy? Just got our back patio resurfaced by Dave Foster Co. and we LOVE it! They had a cancellation in their schedule and fit us in earlier than expected. Our original cement was awful so my husband tried to paint it. It has been cracking and peeling for years and we finally had to do something about it. David and his team did an awesome job removing all the paint and putting down something called microtoppings ( I think that was what it was called). Anyway, with our cement being ugly underneath, that was our best option. It looks great and we could not be happier! Oh! And because of the weather being so cold, it took longer to dry and the color didn't match perfectly so they came back and did the whole thing again.
