Fortunately or unfortunately, I haven't had to see him too many times becuase his advice about wearing different shoe types for different functions allowed my heel to heal and I haven't needed him as much. Two things, be ready to wait half an hour regardless. The last appointment I missed because my daughter was in the car with my dog in the parking garage below the building which was worrying me, and had to get to her own doctor's appointment. The parking at this building is absolutely awful, by the way. But, once you've gone through the parking and the wait, i think you're in the best care possible for your foot issues.

Went to an orthopedic who told me I needed surgery. Then, I went to Dr. Longobardi who quickly diagnosed the problem as fat pad atrophy. He told me about a new procedure called Leneva that is minimally invasive and likely to solve the problem. He injected me, had to use crutches for a month, now it feels amazing. His bed-side manner is superior as he gave me hope that I wasn't going to have to live in pain. I wish every doctor were like him.

I heard great things about Ray P Kamali so I took my mother to him to have her cyst removed. We…read moremeet Ray Kamali, he seemed great. My mother was in extraordinary pain. He recommended that she stays away from opioids. Which I agree - opioids are addicting but my mother was in pain. I informed him that my mother has no history of abusing drugs or alcohol. Long story short my mother did the procedure with KAMALI at Sharp Chula Vista hospital. The hospital treatment was a whole different story. My mother was mistreated at the hospital multiple times and I got proof. Anyways After the procedure he informed me that it went great with no complications. When I saw my mother after 15 mins she informed me that she woke up during procedure. He failed to inform me that my mother woke up twice during anesthesia. He also failed to formally apologize to my mother and after the procedure his whole attitude shifted. Then I spoke to him and he told me to educate my mother to stay away from opioids (oxycodone) I informed him my mother is in pain and she needs it and he said it can cause her harm and can be addicted to them. I then told him that her urine, blood or a website that providers has access to shows that my mother has never abused alcohol or drugs. She's clean as whistle. 1. He was willing to discharge my mother even though she wasn't able to keep liquid food down. 2. He did not inform me that my mother needs to pass gas. (aware of it cause I'm in medical field) 3. Her IV was off multiple times (they didn't even care about dehydration) 4. He did not prescribe my mother her TSH medication. Hospital was aware that she should've been prescribed TSH medication. 5. When complaining to Dr.Kamali about how the nurses are mistreating my mother he got irritated and told me has no control of the nurses and I need to let the manger know. I said I did but I just wanted to inform you and he completely lost it. He stated "if your mother was treated horribly by the nurses then she can go home so she doesn't have to go through this experience." Then I said "if I was you I would refrain from saying that because we as patients and as humans come to the hospital to be properly diagnosed, taken care of and treated properly. Please Dr.Kamali don't speak to us that way" He then became sarcastic and stated "I have patients that I discharged within two hours after doing hysterectomy. with my 17 year experience I guess you know more than I do. I will prescribe all the narcotics that you guys want and she can stay in the hospital for 17 days" - He and the nurses failed to inform my mother that that oxycodone is as needed. They told us it's every 3 hours and there were gaps. I promise you my mother went through pain and they held back on giving her medication. I filed a complaint so then they switched their narrative and said that oxycodone is as needed but it was not put that way on the board. I promise you they told me it's every 3 hours - they failed to give it every 3 hours and switched the whole narrative about it being as needed. ( informing patients about medication and how it's suppose to be given is important. Kamali and nurses failed to inform us properly) 6. He FAILED to check my mothers incisions. He had a RN check her incisions. I was in shock and speechless. A RN has no experience how the MD does. A MD should do their job and not have a 4 year experience nurse do that for them. No disrespect to nurses. I feel more comfortable if a provider checks not a RN. But then again that way he makes more money and so does the hospital. He just goes on to the next patient. 7. The following day he just came to visit my mother and he did not say good morning or anything. My mother asked him if she will be discharged and he stated "ask your daughter if it's okay to be discharged" and he walked away. Even the nurse that was there was in shock. Provider failed to take care of my mother. He failed multiple times. I had to advocate for my mother multiple times. If I wasn't advocating then I don't know what would've happened to my mother. Opioids are there for people that actually need the medication. Especially after a procedure. If not then I wonder why DEA still has opioids approved to be prescribed. I brought my mother to him to be taken care of and I ended up traumatizing her. Kamali and Sharp Chula Vista really mistreated us. I have proof. I despise calling him a provider, although I am grateful he took out the cyst but he needs to work on his communication, patient care, and needs to lose his pride. He needs to work on more things.

That place not only physically got you got the also got you mentally set up also, I expected the same. Well after a few sessions here I felt much better, I'm not out of the woods but headed in that direction. From the treatments I was able to walk 80 miles in one month, not all the same time. And MTB 22 miles that two rides in a month. Which meant the treatment is helping. So here's a case of don't judge a book by its cover. They are very nice and have great mind sets to help. They sent my documents back to the VA requesting more treatments. This weekend I was able to ride my MTB to the lower lake and back and earn my Local Legend status back, I most likely will lose it because I'm not able to ride like before.

She was my father's doctor-he liked…read moreher very much- and when I suggested we try to find a more practical office for a wheelchair as my dad was a new amputee he absolutely refused. I personally left Dr. Shachar because I found a doctor who I used in the past that I was happy with and re-established a relationship with. My father passed and Dr. Shachar called and offered her condolences. Dr. Shachar is not the issue here. At least not for me. Our family has not had any bad medicine from her. Her treatment plans are reasonable. She is kind. The problem is her staff. And I am only writing this negative review in the hopes that this kind and great doctor will consider the way her staff treats her patients. Her staff has always been rude, condescending, haughty. As I mentioned, my mother and father have been going to her for over a decade, and after so much time of a doctor patient relationship you would think there would be some kind of recognition of that fact. I work in an emergency animal hospital. I am a senior receptionist. I have dealt with my clients from the day they got there kitten or puppy to the day where we sadly have to choose peace over a poor quality of life. Now if one day my client calls me to tell me his poodles breath is getting stinkier by the day, it's been going on for awhile, and needs to be seen, I don't tell the 80 year old man he had an appointment, that was scheduled a while ago and well obviously it got cancelled. My soonest is on this day. He can't make it. Okay, let's try this date. He can't make it. 1 more try, he can't do it. Frustrating for parties. I get it. If the older man's son says if he can find another provider for care would the records get there quickly? I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT TELL THE PERSON ON THE PHONE OH YES DEFINITELY. SO SHE ISN'T GOING TO BE A PATIENT HERE ANYMORE CORRECT? This receptionist sounded like she was so happy to be rid of my mom as a patient. A long time patient. For my regular long time clients there's a certain bond we have. I have had to walk my clients, most of them I call friends, off the ledge about there dogs diarrhea not killing them and we'll get them in. I will find the owner of the practice or her 2 associate vets and ask them, hey, can one of you squeeze so and so in on your earliest convenience. I would do that for the 80 year old man as well. And these are pets (which many call there fur babies). Dr. Shachars staff is just very quick to shoo away her human patients of 15 years at the drop of a hat. Lucky for these rude insensitive mouthy employees they can act however they want over the phone. A lot of people don't appreciate the poor treatment of their elderly relatives. My mother has verbally told Dr. Shachar during an appointment how her front staff treated her badly. I do not know if Dr. Shachar does not care or just condones the poor treatment of her patients. I would like to find my mother a new PCP, but like my father, my mother said no, she really likes Dr. Shachar and that's her doctor and not mine. In the past years I have also been treated poorly and spoken down to by these young ladies and have had to refrain from becoming very ghetto. Only for the sake of my parents and Dr. Shachar do I keep my mouth shut. But I can handle myself. My poor deceased father and 80 year old mother cannot. I have just my mama left and Dr. Shachar, C'mon, you have always been there for our family. Please do not allow your front staff girls to be so rude. This in no way reflects my mother's feelings.
