Yesterday a young man from Shannon's carried a dozen bags of topsoil into my backyard, three bags at a time, no handcart -- to my awe, and some ruefulness: I'm getting old. On his own, without my asking, he laid the bags all along the border between grass and flower beds. How thoughtful of him! After he left, and I fastened the picket gates, one by one I opened the bags and, with some effort, lifted each and shook out its contents exactly where he had known I had to. Shannon's is the best. My family has been using this business for at least half a century or more! Nicer people there aren't. read more

At a recent event, their delivery driver blocked an active driveway, caused traffic chaos, and when asked to move, he left his car to approach mine--twice--only to insult my appearance. This behavior was disturbing and unsafe. The florist's response afterward was dismissive, offering only a weak apology and no accountability. I wanted to plant some fresh herbs in the planter box at my apartment, so I stopped into Shannon Florist. I met the owner Joe Perotta and he assured me that I was in the right place. He gave me a tour, and I walked out with more than I needed. I have fresh Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. In addition I purchased some Tomato plants and soil. I can't wait for everything to grow. Joe and his staff worked very fast to ensure that we had received a beautiful Navy Anchor, on the same day, for my father's wake. Not only was the entire experience of placing the order a blessing, but the flower guidance we received was not to be outdone. They went above and beyond the call of duty. DO NOT ORDER FLOWERS FROM THESE CROOKS! I called in February to order an arrangement for my best friend's birthday. I wanted to make it really special for her because it will be her first birthday since her mother passed away. Her mothers favorite color was purple so I set out to find a purple flower bouquet. Came across their website and found the perfect bouquet I knew she would love! Called in to the florist gave them the item number, delivery address & my credit card info everything went smoothly until my friend posted a pic of the flowers on Instagram & they were a horrible yellow color! Mind you I ordered PURPLE!!!! Called the florist right away & a man with a West Indian accent answered the phone. Told him about the error & he said "the purple flowers that you ordered were dead so I sent out the yellow flowers with purple tips". The flowers had no hint of purple anywhere & the yellow was hideous! I told him what I paid for is what I expect to get. He shouldn't have made a decision like that without contacting me first because I would've simply cancelled my order. His solution was "I can go take the flowers from her & refund your money". WTH!!!! After I told him that was the most ridiculous thing he could come up with, he said the best he could do was give me $6.00 off my next order! I told him that he didn't have to worry about it because I'll never order from them again! read more

BUYER BEWARE! We have been buying flowers from Shannon for many years. A couple of weeks back my wife was buying flowers for the cemetery and she had noticed a funeral flower car loaded with flowers from a funeral pull into the parking lot. The driver unloaded the flowers then proceeded inside the florist. The owner of Shannon pulled out $20.00 from the register and hand it to the driver. So I guess next time you purchase certain flowers you maybe paying for recycled flowers at a premium price. read more

I ordered flowers the day before my girl friends bithday from their website. I ordered "Zen Artistry" which makes a nice table centerpiece. I got the deluxe upgrade but I'm not sure what part was the upgrade since the delivered bouquet looked exactly as pictured for standard. It contained Purple dendrobium orchids in a nice black flat container. It looked fantastic and I was pleased with it. I was glad the vase was black because it looks better than the green one pictured. I had to call them and ask them to ring some other bells in the building since she decided to go out unexpectedly. They found a neighbor to let them in and put the flowers right at her door as I had hoped. I would definitely use them again. read more
