Hands down some of the coolest designs I've had done were at McAteer Florists, they can do ANYTHING. This side of South Brooklyn, they are the way to go for all your floral needs large and small, they seriously can do it all. They're brilliant. I've brought them some super high end designs and they can manage it with alternative flowers and do some unique arrangements that I've NEVER been disappointed with. They also accommodate any request I've had (and I have had some weird ones). My mother in law is a floral designer who worked at my beloved Belle Fleur in Manhattan, but alas she lives in LI so if I need a design quickly I need a local shop. I cannot recommend the team at McAteer Florists more highly; I have super-high expectations and standards and they exceed them every single time. (4 total) I called McAteer explaining there was a budget to follow and needed table centerpieces and three bouquets along with a dozen roses arranged in a vase for the occasion. I'm not sure where to start. It was not my wedding and maybe I had different expectations of this place but I'll just tell you the facts. The bridesmaid flowers were loosely (poorly) wrapped with the ribbon. There was plastic sticking out of the wrapped ribbon! Not sure why there was plastic wrapper. Maybe a "florist trick", but at least they could have wrapped it neater to hide it. The bridesmaids bouquet was made with Fresh white roses with fake silk leaves. This was my first experience with fake and real being in the same bouquet. And the roses on the sides were snapping off even before we started handling them. Wish I had taken pictures to show proof of the "messiness" Again, it wasn't my wedding, but at least McAteer could have done a better job with the presentation whether the flowers were fake or not. Thats all I have to say about this. Aside from the bouquets, the centerpieces and sweetheart table arrangements were very well done. So, I give this place a solid 3 stars. read more

Lazarus was extremely helpful! I was able to come visit the flower shop a few times to go over design, colors, and pricing. Everything was very affordable and he was accommodating so that I could use my own vases and mirrors for the centerpieces (I did not want to rent them because I knew my guests would walk off with all of them and I would have none to return to Mcateer). When I went back to see if they could fix some of the flowers I had picket up from them on mother's day, the manager was waiting outside to greet me even though they were just about to close shop. No one gave me a hard time about the purchase. The manager personally fixed up a bunch of fresh flowers and set everything right. My friend was extremely happy with the arrangement (High Style Blooms Arrangement). It was delivered promptly and in excellent condition. My only complaint is that some places don't charge for delivery, and this one charges $15, which seems a little high. I'm really surprised by the good reviews about this florist shop. I had such a bad experience here. This was my first time coming here. When I walked in, nobody greeted me. Mind you, there was nobody in there. The guy who I think was the owner literally looked at me and didn't say anything. Like hello? I'm looking to buy flowers for a cake. Then one of his employees comes out from the cashier area and looks at me. Is there something on my face? I wonder if it's because I am Asian. I hope they weren't discriminating because that would be so wrong. So I say hi and tell him what I'm looking for and he seems like he doesn't want to work or help me. I ask him questions about the flowers and he doesn't even seem like he wants to answer. I was going to buy some flowers but then I looked more closely at him and the owner and I realized they weren't wearing face masks. The guy was even rubbing his nose with his fingers/hands and those fingers/hand touches the flowers!! Oh my god!! Once I saw that, I was like ok I don't want these flowers from here anymore if you can't even wear a face mask when you're handling my flowers. So disgusting. I went and found another florist in the area and they were so kind and welcoming. They also wore their face masks, which was important to me, especially during these times!
