During my postoperative treatment, Dr. Morwood routinely took photographs of me at every follow-up appointments, 2x per week. I eventually became uncomfortable with the number and frequency of photographs and expressed my concerns during one of my appointments. When I informed Dr. Morwood that I was uncomfortable with having photographs taken at one appointment, he became visibly annoyed and stated, "You are in charge of your own medical care, but it will affect my ability to treat you." My husband was present during this interaction and politely asked Dr. Morwood to explain how declining photographs would affect his ability to provide treatment. Dr. Morwood ignored his question. Instead, he turned back toward me, appeared visibly frustrated, moved uncomfortably closer to me, and repeated the same statement: "You are in charge of your own medical care, but it will affect my ability to treat you." I replied with a defiant "thank you for understanding". Dr. Morwood promptly left the examination room before the appointment was fully completed. A medical assistant later had to locate him to obtain instructions regarding my postoperative care treatment for that appointment. I perceived the interaction as intimidation and felt uncomfortable continuing my care with Dr.Morwood afterward. The two other surgeons I have worked with were men. They never took the photographs themselves. It was always done by a female assistant. I have lost confidence in the physician-patient relationship. On May 15, 2026, I submitted a written request for copies of my medical records. The office acknowledged receiving my request and stated they are working on providing records maintained by the practice. As of June 11, 2026, I still have not received the records maintained by the practice. Access to these records is important because I had transferred my postoperative care to another physician and needed the records for continuity of treatment. Overall it just feels like you go to Dr. Morwood and pay him tens of thousands of dollar to boost his ego and reputation. When instead you should be paying to improve how you look and feel about yourself. At his prices his bed side manner should be impeccable. All he had to do was empathize with my discomfort. Reassure me that I could abstain if i wasn't comfortable that day and maybe give any sort of an explanation as to why full frontal nude photos twice per week were medically necessary. He did none of that. There was absolutely no regard for my feelings. Also, I was not told before hand that I would need 2 appointments a week post op and that photos would be needed at every appointment. That was not the case with the other two male surgeons. read more

I reviewed many Botox treatment centers in the Monterey area. I chose David Morewood. Unfortunately, it was a big mistake. Dr. Morewood has a wonderful staff of professional women. Dr. Morewood has a great inviting personality. In the end, it was all smoke and mirrors. I received a botox treatment. There was zero improvement over days, weeks, and months of having received the treatment. The cost was 750.00. I contacted the office and received no compassion and no regard for the fact that I received zero improvement. I was reminded that I signed forms that there was no guarantee the process would work. Dr. Morwood is wonderful! He performed a Natural Neck Lift on me back in December 2017 and it still looks wonderful now in 2025! I went to see him yesterday because I'm turning 70 this year and thought I might need a little freshening up. He gave me his honest opinion as he always has, that he didn't feel that I needed anything but a little Botox in a couple of areas. Now, I was ready to pull the trigger and do something much more invasive, he literally had me in the palm of his hand, but his honesty amazed me! So not only did I avoid having a major surgery at this time, but I am very happy with the results from his just using a needle instead of a scalpel! Not to mention he saved me thousands of dollars! He actually takes a lot time to completely look you over. So maybe when he's staring at you it makes people uncomfortable. But he's through. A couple weeks ago, while trying to get something in a cabinet, I fell off a ladder and my right hand went through the kitchen window. I went to the ER, and instead of patching me up and sending me to my PCP to get a referral, Dr. Roxas from CHOMP made calls to a couple of doctors to see who is available ASAP, as I severed the tendon and nerves between my thumb and pointer. I had no feeling in my right hand where it was cut. After a few hours in the ER, I was told that Dr. Morwood would be seeing me, and I saw Dr. Morwood the following day. After a consult with Dr. Morwood, he scheduled my surgery to be a few days later. Consultation: Danielle and Patty are very sweet and professional ladies. Dr. Morwood was very informative, even gave me, Danielle and Patty a lesson on flexor and extensor tendons, which I very much appreciated. I asked how long the surgery would take, and he said he did not want to give me an estimate, and that he doesn't look at the time while doing surgery as he wants to take his time and not be "rushed". Surgery: I remember going in the pre-op area at the MPSC, seeing Dr. Morwood briefly, he told me he would be seeing me soon, and then I was wheeled away to the surgery room. After transferring to the table, the Anesthesiologist told me exactly what she was going to do... I blinked 3 times and I was out like a light. I woke up in the recovery area 3.5 hrs later and everything was done. Now, 1 week after surgery, I can feel my whole hand again (although 2 days after surgery I was wishing he didn't repair the nerves because it hurt like a SOB!). The pain has subsided significantly, and in 2 days, I get the splint removed so he can check on the healing of my hand. I see how a lot of posts talk about Dr. Morwood's "bedside manners"... Your doctor is your doctor. He is there to make sure you are taken care of. Fix what has been broken. Doctors take their work very seriously. They're not there to hold your hand or coddle you when you're hurt. He's there to fix you and send you on your way.... as he has other patients to tend to. All I can say about Dr. Morwood is that I'm glad he did the surgery on my hand, he is very professional and straight to the point. He will not talk to you if his back is turned as he wants to give you his undivided attention when you speak. If you think he has bad "bedside manners", maybe you all need to grow up and stop being so sensitive. read more

I am a senior, a 70+male, and decided to have a "neck lift" because my grandchildren began referring to the excess skin on my neck below my chin as my "turkey gobbler." I am somewhat of a purest and didn't really like the idea of cosmetic surgery. In July of 2009 I was visiting Monterey with my family. On the morning we were heading to the aquarium my then 4 year old daughter had her left index finger crushed in the door jam of one of those heavy hotel room doors that is on a spring to keep it closed. A horrifying scramble to find the closest emergency room ensued. This was the Monterey Community Hospital. Dr. Morwood was called to the hospital to see my daughter and make a recommendation. We opted to have Dr. Moorwood repair the damage rather than drive to San Jose or San Francisco. The finger tip was almost completely severed. I held my daughter's other hand while Dr. Moorwood worked and it took all my strength not to break down as the reality that she might lose part of her hand crossed my mind. We left the hospital with the names of some doctors in San Francisco to have follow ups with in case it needed further repair but both doctors said no additional work was need. Four month's latter it was completely healed (the nail fell off of course and grew back) and there was no visible scar. See the photos I uploaded. My wife and I still shudder at the thought of this day: a parental nightmare. We are so incredibly thankful for the work Dr. Morwood did that day. read more

I would give a zero rating but its not an option. I saw Mr. Morwood in 2003 for cosmetic surgery. Breast augmentation to be exact. My experience was great up until my post op follow up. I expressed my concerns about my results and that there was something wrong. He dismissed it, blamed it on swelling and sent me on my way. I returned wks later for another visit to express my dissatisfaction with the end result. Not only did he fail to acknowledge there was asymmetry, his narcissistic attitude made me feel he didn't give a crap what I thought. I had a neck lift with some fat grafting done to my face by Dr Morwood in April, 2017. The neck lift was beautiful, and I could not have been more pleased. There was an issue with the fat grafting procedure, and I'm sorry to say that I had the same experience as Momma GT from 2016. There was an obvious error and incomplete procedure. At first he assured me that he understood and would touch up the area and that he wanted me to be happy with the results. He wanted to wait until the swelling was down before repeating the procedure. When the swelling went down he told me that he had done nothing wrong and that I just was unhappy with the results. I am really sad to say that the relationship deteriorated to the point that I am having the correction made with another surgeon. The neck lift turned out beautifully, and I believe Dr Morwood is a very gifted and talented surgeon. I would have returned for additional work and would have had complete trust in the results. I would have recommended his work without reservation. It is unfortunate that the follow up did not match the quality of the initial procedure. read more

I recently had a neck lift performed by Dr. Morwood. He had done a modified tummy tuck for me about 10 years ago and I was very satisfied at that time so it was natural to go back to him for this procedure. I've seen some bad neck lifts where the jaw and mouth area look very stretched and I was concerned about that. I talked to Dr. Morwood about it several times and he listened well because I don't have any of that look. Now, three months later I have the neck I envisioned and I feel like it looks very natural. And I don't think anyone would suspect that I'd had any work done. That's the perfect outcome. Plus, all the staff is extremely nice, Dr. Morwood is calm and reassuring. First, and foremost, I'm very happy with the end results of my procedures with Dr Morwood. When you take your lifelong desires into someone's hands, it's nerve wracking and scary. You pay a lot. You sweat a lot. You make lots of pre-op appointments. You seek reassurance that your body will behave properly during and after surgery. You Google all sorts of questions every day, multiple times a day when you can't contact your doctor for whatever reason and take reassurance in others' successes. It's a lot to take in. Dr. Morwood and staff excel at all of these concerns. I was scheduled for 3, maybe 4 pre op appts just to make sure that everything was a go, which is very validating and comforting, again, when you are going to go under the knife for hours. The coordination of the surgery center was a little difficult due to the length of my procedure- by no fault of anyone else's. All matters were still handled professionally by staff. The day of surgery was a blur-- honestly-- how can anyone really objectively rate such a scary morning? You're either on calming meds, really tired, starving, numb or just damn scared. As long as you make it to the OR without incident, you're good. Post-op is miserable no matter what you have done or who you get it done with. You hate your surgeon for a few days and really regret everything you've done because you are swollen and sore and look tore up. There was a small complication (by no fault of anyone's) with one of my procedures and I saw Dr Morwood about 6 times within 2 weeks post op to ensure my healing was happening. This is outstanding service, especially coming in at 630am before his day even started, as I had to head out of town for a few days. Overall, what I envisioned was what Dr Morwood thought would be good for me, too. He made some other suggestions and I accepted them and trusted that I would benefit from those suggestions, which I totally did. My outcome was perfectly on par. Why he may not be good for you: I saw some reviews saying his bedside manner isn't stellar. My take on that is I'd rather have someone tell me the truth, know how to perform surgery, have a similar opinion to what my desires are, be practical in my healing process, and know how to treat any complications post op. If you need someone to hold your hand, sweet talk you, and do therapy with you, this is not the doctor. In fact, you probably shouldn't be getting surgery. If you are well educated in the areas of what you are desiring he do for you, you will be just fine. In all honesty, I've spent HOURS with Dr Morwood and have had great conversations with him. He does have bedside manners, but, just like anything else, you're not always going to make everyone happy. I do and have recommended him to people I know. When I asked around to some select friends, his name was the first to come up. In the post op process, I also found out that a friend of mine had surgery with him months prior (he's so good at what he does, I couldn't even tell that she'd been operated on!). It is with great pleasure that I write this review for Dr. David Morwood. I first met Dr. Morwood in 2004 when I was seeking plastic surgery for breast reconstruction after having a surgery for breast cancer. We came up with a plan using tissue expanders that would take a few months to prepare for. In the middle of my treatments I found out I had tested positive for the BRCA1 breast cancer gene. This changed things for me. After genetic counseling and much discussion with my family and doctors I decided to have a preventative double mastectomy and hysterectomy. Dr. Morwood worked closely with my 2 other doctors to prepare me for the huge surgery that awaited. I basically had 3 surgeries back to back. Hysterectomy, bilateral mastectomy, and reconstruction. Dr. Morwood and his staff became almost like family during that time as I had weekly appointments for months in preparations for implants. In July 2018 I was once again in Dr. Morwood's office seeking his help. All my experiences with both Dr. Morwood and his staff have exceeded my expectations. I have always been treated with respect & the best care. And I haven't even mentioned the results, which were amazing. Dr. Morwood is nothing short of exceptional. I had surgery with Dr. Morwood in 2015 I did a breast augmentation and a tummy tuck. About three weeks after my surgery my breast started to create what is called a double bubble, Meaning my the implant was underneath my natural breast line. i had mention this to Dr. Morwood and he said to let my breast heal a little more and maybe it will move. it never moved! it never healed correctly! till this day i still have a double bubble! a year later i visited Morwood asking him if theres any way he can fix the mistake that has happened and he said he would but he would have to charge me again! i thought that was the most disrespectful thing he could have said! at that point i knew he wasn't there for my best interest! he was there for the money! i wouldn't recommend him to any one, there surgeons out there that do a better job and cheaper! if you haven't seen his work or if you you are thinking of going to him i suggest you do your homework before thinking about going to him. i unfortunately didn't. and on my tummy tuck he left skin that needed to be removed! i don't know if he just didn't care or ran out of time but he did an amateur job. i regret going to him. and i wouldn't give him any more of money! i wouldn't go to him if he did it for free! read more
