Maryellen Meister told us that Door Works rejected a "claim" for the new/correct doors approx. after 5 months after Hernan Arbaiza admitted to my husband that he made a mistake when he placed the order with Fimbel, the garage door manufacturer we chose. Maryellen Meister told me that Door Works did not sell a lot of Fimbel doors because of their bespoke/customized styling, essentially, when I complained about Hernan sending us proposals with wrong information after we told him what we wanted (e.g., no windows, matte brown color, a design that replicated our original garage doors). Hernan Arbaiza showed up with Fimbel garage door samples at our home. He gave us a Fimbel catalogue. We even visited Door Works' showroom in Elmwood Park, NJ and literally discussed & pointed out the Fimbel door design and product we wanted. Hernan acknowledged all of our requests. Maryellen Meister's revelations come after approx. 5 months of comms from Hernan Arbaiza telling us that the new garage "panels"/doors were on order/being manufactured. Door Works misled us and misrepresented their actions with intent. Meister, Arbaiza and the rest of Doorworks' team gaslit us when we tried to get to the bottom of new installation dates, delays, clarification of correct information. They lied over and over again to cover up their incompetence, mistakes and lies with intent.

He quoted me $600 to replace the motor and $700 for replacing the springs (I called 3 other companies afterwards and they all quote me at around $350 range for 2 springs). I said I have to think about it so he charged me $100 for doing nothing. Today I asked another garage company to give me quote for the replacement. Said we need a new panel (whew - we were worried we might need a whole new door) and that they'd relay the results back to the office so they could advise us on pricing and timing. -Monday afternoon, barely 30 minutes later: Someone called from the office with the price and said they could do the job the next day since the panel was in stock. -Tuesday mid-morning: Guys were at our replacing the panel. Found that the panel had some dings when they took it out of the box; said they'd install it for the time being but replace with a new one. Said we wouldn't pay until the new panel was in. -Tuesday early afternoon: Came back with the replacement panel and finished the job. -Tuesday afternoon: Husband called and spoke with Scott at the office (I think there are two Scotts) to pay with credit card. End of transaction. Barely 24 hours after it happened, it was like nothing happened. We appreciate the promptness, the professional yet friendly conduct of all involved, and the fact that the guys who came were masked by default. They're the real deal; A+ and highly recommended!

What made this even worse is that no diagnostic was performed at all. The technician didn't attempt to identify why my garage door was malfunctioning. Instead, I was immediately offered a paid repair -- with no confirmation that the fix would actually solve the problem. My new $800 garage door system randomly fails to open, or it opens and closes on its own. These are serious issues, and Goldi made no effort to determine the cause. Ignoring the warranty and skipping a proper diagnostic is unacceptable. Based on my experience, Goldi does not honor its agreements and does not provide the level of service customers should expect. ---

From the…read moreconsultation to a post-installation call, Oren and his crew were the definition of professionalism. HIRE THESE GUYS. Oren is articulate, collaborative, and transparent. Booking a consultation was easy and he took the time to explain everything from materials to costs to timelines. The new garage doors are a near-perfect match to the existing paint job (hunter green, see accompanying pictures). We ended up needing to replace the garage roof and the frame, which Door Tech also took care of (they're not just limited to doors!). Fast forward to the day of the roof replacement / door installation and we discover a rotting post with termites. Oren is on-site, immediately communicates the issue, and provides a clear solution. Bonus: Oren and his crew did all of the above in ONE day, which is incredible especially if you've ever done any home renovation work of any kind. Bonus #2: you forgot something after the installation and call Oren in a panic? The guy turns around a quarter to 8 pm on his way home and comes right back to address it. Thank you, Oren and team.
